Pre Tournament Jitters
i used to get a little nervous before hands, never about my fishing skill, just for no apparent reason, after three or four tournaments I started loosening up, and now that nervousness has turned into a burning desire to win!!

Water Pressure Gauge and impeller?
I have a 1995 Mercury 2.5L 150HP XR6 outboard, and I put a new water pump impeller in it this sunday. I took it to the lake yesterday, and started it for the first time since fall and the new water pump impeller, well it would only spit water at idle, but it would spray water when i gave it gas in nuetral. The thing is the water pressure gauge on the dash never showed anything, what makes that gauge work? and why would it not spray water at idle?

Relief in sight
Yeah I have to agree with that KU, i dont know if you are familiar with turkey creek in merriam, but i sat in a parking lot watching it last night during the rain, it was rushing faster than any creek or river i have ever seen, if anyone would have fallen in it, they would have been a goner, it went from being almost dry to breeching its banks in less than an hour

Quiting tobacco chewing..
I just quit after two years. When i say quit, I mean I haven't had a chew in over two weeks, actually 2 weeks 2 days and about 10 hours, I miss it everyday. The other night I had a dream I had a brand new can of copenhagen, I woke up tasting it all day and had the worst headache. It makes you angry, restless, and hungry, but I stuck it out and I am never going back, its not worth it. Good luck, I will pray for you I know how hard it is, but think of it this way... At my worst I chewed a can of copenhagen a day, $4.57 a day multiply that by 365 days that is about $1670 a year, break that down into fishing equipment, and I could go to basspro or cabelas and load the boat with 1600 bucks.

Want Sponsors?
Thanks Earthworm77, I still have alot to learn about the fishing industry, I am glad that others think I have my priorities straight. I guess my plan is sending me in the right direction.

Want Sponsors?
I just turned 20 years old a couple of weeks ago, and I too have realized that I need to concentrate on my fishing skills more than gaining sponsors. People will respond by saying that they read how much more important it is to be marketable than a skilled fisherman, but honestly when it comes to tournament fishing I am out to be the best, not the most popular. I want to be the best bass fisherman I can be, and then I will market myself. I am not putting sponsors on the wayside, I have worked in retail and wholesale sales since the age of 15, so I have five years of sales experience. I also am starting my second year of college. I have completed courses in public speaking, marketing, accounting, business, and interpersonal communications in order to complete my bachelors degree in business administration. Eventually I will pursue sponsorships to enable myself to compete on a national level, but for now I will keep fishing. When I find products I use and have confidence in, I will pursue them. One thing I will not do is pursue companies I don't believe in, maybe it is just me, but I can not promote a company and sell product for a company that I don't believe in or use myself. I will put as much as I can into the business relationship my sponsors and I have. This means promoting products through media exposure, and just standing behind what a company has to offer. I think that most of the young anglers out there have the same mindset I used to have, and that was, I get to wear a cool shirt and get free product. Well that is not how it happens. Sponsorship is a business that is what young anglers do not understand. You as an angler are working for whatever company may be sponsoring you, and believe it or not you can get fired, if you do not promote the product or help in there sales, you will not be sponsored. I guess when it all comes down to it, you can pursue sponsors your whole life and never be a competitive fisherman. I want both, I want to be the best bass fisherman, while at the same time I am helping companies I believe in sell there product.

Power plant lakes
I think that moon phases also have something to do with dictating when bass spawn.

white stain
Zing makes a product, i know that my aluminum boat was brown from fishing in muddy waters, and it made it look like brand new aluminum. All you do is brush it on and hose it off, but it is very toxic. That was on my aluminum boat, Zing also makes a fiberglass formula.

A company that REALLY doesn't support Soldiers
These people using their freedom of speech, should definetely not be bashing troops who are defending their freedom, whether you agree or disagree with the war, you have to support the troops.

A company that REALLY doesn't support Soldiers
I couldnt pull it up either, but i searched fox news, and basically a gentlemen serving our country in the roughest part of Iraq sent a letter to discountmats.com asking if they would ship mats to them, because the sand they sleep on has mites and other disease carrying bugs, and they replied no, if you were sensible you would pull out of Iraq

Reds hooks vrs Normal color
I know that bass tend to eat prey head first, but it seems as though when i catch bass on crankbaits with a red hook just on the front, they are always hooked on that front hook, maybe its just a coincidence, but I still put red hooks on, its just a confidence thing.

Tournament Fishing and Fast Boats
I personally started tournament fishing out of a 17.6' tracker boat with a 40hp mercury, it was a great little fishing boat, really reliable always ran perfect, another thing it was really reliable at was making me wear rain gear all of the time, because water would splash over the small boat on big waters, and it never let me down on having someone pass me on the way to a fishing hole and seeing that same boat where i wanted to fish. So now I have a 18.6' skeeter with a 150HP mercury that has been tuned so I go about 62 MPH on GPS with my gear, partner, and I and that is just about perfect for the 7,000+ acre lakes that I normally fish, but every once in awhile I need to get back in a creek that I wish I had that little tracker back again

Dock question
Deep docks, my favorite type of fishing!!! I like to fish a suspending jerkbait around them in the winter and early spring. In the fall I love to swim white jigs and spinnerbaits around them. My favorite way to catch fish around docks though is to flip and pitch soft plastics and jigs around them and get a bite on the fall. Baits of choice are senkos, brush hogs, and eakins jigs.
