  1. Rest in peace benny
  2. Well I am turning 20 in nine days, and so far so good on my plan, first off I graduated highschool, second off I am in my fourth semester of college and still on track to get my four year degree in business/administration, while filling my elective courses with public speaking and marketing. That sums up the business end of my fishing career. Now, I started fishing local tournaments a few years ago, and I would say I have probably fished 90-100 tournaments in the last two years, it has been a great learning experience for me, I have fished with some of the best locals, and have learned so much. Of course my competitive edge has always wanted to win these tournaments, but I learn whether I finish first or last. I have 5 tournament wins, and too many top ten finishes to count, but I am nowhere near where I need to be even locally, the competition is tough in the kansas city area, with Lake of the Ozarks, Table Rock, Truman, and Smithville Lake being close, the tournament circuits are filled with talent. So I am going to take my time, earn my degree and my reputation as a fisherman, and gradually make my way through the ranks.
  3. Yup but where does the profit go, it doesn't stay here it lines the pockets of the execs over in Japan, good way to keep our economy rolling : Sorry my family only drives American, I am really biased
  4. Falcon Expert and Cara Series, by far the best small jig rod in my opinion is their 6' 10" MH or Heavy action pitchin rod, falcon has great rods, I have owned three lowriders for about five years and i still horse in big fish no problem.
  5. Pan fried chicken breast, smothered in gravy, with a side of mashed potatoes mixed with corn, and covered with gravy, and a good piece of bread to clean my plate up after im done. After that I would have to say the same thing, but instead of chicken, id go with a chicken fried steak. Then a fried egg sandwich w/ bacon on wheat toast. and last but not least, mom's beef tenderloin w/ a baked tater and brocolli.
  6. Is Mike Iaconelli's CD set of how to become a pro in five years or less worth purchasing? Does it have good information. I know I should just buy it and give it a shot, but 20 bucks is 20 bucks lol. Anyone who has tried it let me know if the info is good. thanks
  7. Prayers go out to the Hunt family Kansas City is having a rough year for icons, first Buck O'Neal and now Lamar Hunt, they will be missed.
  8. 65 years ago today Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese, prayers go out to the Americans who lost there lives that day, and to all of the survivors.
  9. One of my supersitions is I never fill the livewells when i am waiting to take off for a tournament, the days i do not have fish were the days I was optimistic enough to fill the livewell, and the days i did not fill the livewell before taking off were the days when i had the most success, i dunno???
  10. ttyl=talk to you later
  11. Happy Thanksgiving!! And RW, make that CHIEFS RED!!! GO CHIEFS!!!! :)
  12. You have turned my words around, I said I will not contribute to this post about people calling Brent Chapman names anymore, I never said that this conversation was below me. I was respecting roadwarrior's request that we calm down, but you continue to try to add to the fire. At 31 years of age, I would think you have better things to do than to try to provoke 19 year olds to get in a flame war about two professional fisherman. Now I am sure I will get a rash of crap for posting this, and maybe the thread will get locked, but I was not going to sit here and have people like Irish Jig putting words in my mouth my 2 cents
  13. You are really mature skidder, roadwarrior says to quiet this post down and you try to feed the fire, I am proud of myself, I am going to suck it up and stay out of the Chapman war :
  14. Certi-fit auto body panels is a good source we have one locally in kansas city, but i do not know if they have a website give that a google search
  15. Brent Chapman was ranked 9th in the world "yes i said world" going into the 2005 Cabelas Top Gun Championship which featured anglers such as Dean Rojas, Mike Iaconelli,Toshinari Namiki, Takahiro Omori, Tim Horton etc etc..., he won this tournament. Accomplishment"yeah i think so" so you guys can refrain from making Brent Chapman is a nobody comments. As I said earlier I have met Brent Chapman many times, and Mike Iaconelli, they are both great guys, and d**n good fisherman. Could it be that Mike Iaconelli has marketed himself better and been able to fish by taking more risks, because he is no longer married and has more sponsors. Chapman fishes conservatively, he has told the local newspaper "Financially I have to catch my limit for sure, i cant go out at this point and slug for the fences and take as many chances as i would like to" So quit bashing if you do not know the guy, yeah he made a bad statement, but don't call him a whiner or a nobody unless you have done some research first.
  16. Well first off a ball joint, exhaust manifold, and a muffler shouldnt be a 800 dollar repair, i could do the ball joint in my sleep, and the exhaust manifold leaking is not causing bad fuel mileage just annoying exhaust noise, and in KC you could get a muffler put on for like 50 bucks at an exhaust shop, they charge like 10dollars a weld+two welds the muffler is 24.99 lifetime warranty, and and a little labor, no more than 50-75 bucks, get a do it yourself manual and do the ball joint they are easy and dont worry about the exhaust manifold.
  17. I'd hardly call a Bassmasters Classic winner and current AOY a flash in the pan.....who is Chapman kidding? Is he for real?I'd lay money right now that he will never win either title. I will take you up on that offer anyday of the week FiveBassLimit, Chapman finished strong in 2005, winning back to back tourneys, the Busch Shootout and the Top Gun Championship. I would put my money where my mouth is and say he will win the FLW championship in the next 5 years, the bassmasters classic in the next five years, maybe not angler of the year, but the "Who is he?" remark, well here is a list of his accomplishments www.brentsbassline.com. And dont think I am an Iaconelli basher, I own his book i follow his career and root for him everytime i get the chance to watch him on TV, I am a huge Iaconelli fan
  18. Stetson on special occassions, American Crew sport usually though
  19. Yeah it is sad, the company I used to aspire to be apart of someday has let me down once again. The magazine in my opinion gets worse every issue, its the same old stuff every month just restated by a different pro. I renewed my subscription this year, and received three issues and have not received another for the last two months so i have no idea what people are talking about for BASS's new look. I have attended BASS U at johnson county community college the last four years, and it has been hard to find a seat, the info was great, the pros were great, and now, they discontinue it?? I will not renew my membership unless I need it to fish some BASS affiliated tournaments in the future, my 2 cents!
  20. 1967 ford f-100 pickup w/ 352 big block and 3 speed manual on the column, i never had it as a daily driver bought it when i was 15 and dumped alot of money in it, after that i bought a 1990 ford f-150 w/ 302 automatic had 74000 miles when i bought it, i sold it with 113000 on it after two years. I know have a 2001 f-150 supercrew 4.6L 30K miles on it, as you can see i am a ford guy.
  21. Again sorry for another boat value question but i am in the market and i respect your guys opinion way more than the nada guides or blue book values, so here is what i am looking at, 1999 skeeter sx186, dual console, 150HP mercury xr6, balanced and blueprinted tempest plus 24pitch ss prop, 55lb motorguide 24v trolling motor, eagle 320 at console, and at the bow, lowrance gps h20 unit, hot foot throttle, trim button on steering column, recessed trolling motor pedal, loc-r bar setup, 6" jackplate, the boat is in great condition, has one scratch on drivers side about 2 foot long, trailer is perfect and it runs and drives great how much is a good buying price???
  22. I know they have the nada guides, but i was wondering what you all think this boat is worth. It is a 1994 Stratos 284, with a 150 evinrude intruder outboard, electric tilt trim, 3 blade stainless prop raker 24 pitch, the boat has a 24v 56lb motorguide, garmin 240 fish finder, the trailer is single axle, w/ detachable tongue and bearing buddies. This boat is immaculate no scratches whatsoever and always garaged not faded or anything, it runs perfect and has three new batteries, what do you think it is worth money wise, i am looking to buy this boat, and dont want to get ripped off, i dont trust the nada guides.
