  1. Favorite is the Blues, and to many artists to list..I do listen to other types of music, except hip hop, and rap.
  2. By big reel, do mean something other than a low pro baitcaster.? Before I got my 301 Curado, I was throwing up to 8" swimbaits on my Chronarch, or BPS extreme reels..so no, for fishing for lmb's you don't really need a big reel, unless you need to make really long cast's. For example, the Chronarch almost got spooled when I'd throw the 8" lunker Punker. If your fishing for say, stripers, then I'd opt for a large capacity reel.
  3. Nice black crappie. Those are about the only decent spots on the north lake to fish for bass, unless it's pre spawn, or spawning. I might head to the ranger lake Thurs. or friday morning..have a new rod I want to test out..
  4. Do you know who has a better warranty..? It's the reason I no longer own Shimano rods.
  5. I just noticed..........I lost my tube of Megastrike.. > Oh well, I need to pick up some stuff anyways, I'll grab a new one. 8-)
  6. I agree. But I have to say again..my 301 cast's pretty dang well for still having the factory lube in it. I also feel that the fit & finish is fine for a reel in that price range, I'm not out to win a beauty contest.. ;D I will say, that I intend to have the 301 semi super tuned, and upgrade the drag..I'll post back on how that works out.
  7. Re: the over the counter warranty..Another reason I don't buy from the "big" retailers..
  8. I've spooled up my 2500's with at least 4 different brands of fluro..never had coiling problems with any of them..I gave up on fluro's, including Invisx, and abrasx due to weak abrasion issues.
  9. Not at all dealers. The Atlanta BPS will only do an over the counter exchange for the first year. After that it has to sent back to Shimano on your dime. BPS is passing the buck then.
  10. Wow..The oldest beavers I have are about 6-7 months old..so far, so good. They don't get real warm.
  11. Shimano didn't do the work. My local tackle shop did it..and, yes they are Carbontex..
  12. Make sure you spool it on th reel, the same way the line comes off the filler spool, and add some tension to the line while filling up the reel..
  13. I have a few Shimano rods..Even the Clarus works good, the upper line of course is much better. One thing you can't beat is their warranty, over the counter Lifetime exchange, no questions asked. 8-) All of my reels are Shimano as well.
  14. BYW, I took my Chonarch to get it cleaned and lubed, they replaced the drag washers with carbontex under warranty. 8-)
  15. !0 cheap bearings aren't as good as 5 quality bearings.. Love my Curado.. 8-)
  16. Megastrike on my soft swimbaits, and all plastic's. The scent on the swimbaits, helps slide through weeds, and I feel makes the bait easier for LMB to hold onto. It keeps my plastic's and soft baits soft, and adds a tad more action on some of them. Oh I use it on any baits with skirts too.
  17. Geez, why was the Chronarch a disappointment..? I have the chronarch, and a 301E Curado. I find they both work great..Upgraded the drag in both. I use the chronarch for flippin, pitchin, and smaller swimbaits. The 301 see's duty 9n my heavy swimbait rig, and some saltwater duty. I'm not trying to compare them to anything, just sayin they are imho good reels.. 8-)
  18. You can use zip lock baggies to put the plastic's in, then put those in the storage box..
  19. White spinnerbaits, white jigs, and white buzzbaits..
  20. as colors go deeper they turn black.black is harder to see against darker backrounds then green .especially braid when it turns light green.my next question is do we think it really matters if they see it?after years of trying different lines under different conditions i have come to the conclusion line visibility means nothing.you either have a fish willing to bite your bait or you don't.if he's concentrating on your line you have the wrong bait. IMHO If a fish is concentrating on your line you have the wrong line. I'd say your using the wrong lure, and or presentation..
  21. I agree with gobig..good advice. As far as the H20 baits are concerned, they swim pretty good, and do catch fish. My only complaint with them is, they sink very fast, in shallow water with lots of weeds, it's not a good way to go imho. Stick with the talapia, and or bluegill patterns.. Swimbaiting is addictive, so beware.. 8-)
  22. Give the Yozuri Ultrasoft a try..I've tried a few different copoly's and FC's..so far yozuri hasn't let me down.. 8-)
  23. If they are similar in color, throw em all in a zip loc baggie. I would get some 2 and 3/0 ewg hooks too..although for the roboworms, a 1/0 offset worm hook works fine. I say 2 and 3, cuz I don't know exactly what you have, but you'll use them down the line for sure.
  24. offset worm hook works for me..
  25. I agree. They are calling it a "JERK" BAIT, NOT A SWIMBAIT..
