Rod for Calcutta 400B??
Yeah, another option is the Okuma swimbait rods. I have the 7'11"H guide series. You can check them out at TW..priced at 120.00 shipped, great rod for the $$.

Rod/boat courtesy
Absolutely...I felt guilty when I brought 4 rigs, 3 of them swimbait rigs, 7'11" min. On a friends 20" Champion boat..I did ask before we went though.. ;D

Heddon Spook and line choice
I use a 7' MHF rod. I have used 10lb Yozuri hybrid with it, but I prefer 55lb braid. With the low stretch I have more control over the bait. I do use a 3' 15lb yozuri leader on it, for a shock absorber. I find the stiffer rods help with the action when the bait is further out there, as I too fish from shore.

Best, Affordable Scale
I have the Rapala, they come in 15 and I believe 30 lb. They are accurate, and under 30.00, usually 20, to 25.00 depending on where you buy it.

Braid Help Please
Just spring for the Samuri, and forget it..The stuff lasts for a long time. Either a palomar, or double loop uni works fine, even with 4oz swimbaits..

El Dorado Park in Long Beach
There are other frogs, besides the floating frogs, such as the Ragetail, and Yum frogs. Although these are as weedless as the Spro, ect. I was there today..Hardly anyone there, didn't see anyone catching anything, including small gills..The weather was nice though.. ;D

Rod for Calcutta 400B??
I happen to have a Shimano inshore Calcutta, 7'6" MH..I use it for some flippin, pitchen, small swimbaits, i.e to 2 ozs. and for some light to med saltwater fish. Catching barndoor flatties with this rod is a blast! If you can find one..should be a good rod for the 400. These rods are underrated for power imho..so don't be fooled by the rating on them..

Brad always fishes with small baits..lol I have given him some bigger plastic's to fish, not sure if he ever used them.. As for people telling you what they caught..take any fish info. with a grain of salt...as the info. isn't a;ways accurate. Believe me, I've heard stuff like that many times, only to find that instead of killin em on lure A, it was in fact lure C that got em.. ;D I'd ditch the rattles, unless they give You more confidence..

Need advice from someone that owns a chronarch and a curado?
I handled both when I was ready to buy a Curado. I wound up getting the Chronarch bpv101. I also have a Curado 301E, 2 different sized reels I know, but the Chronarch feels much smoother in my hands. IMHO, it's worth the extra $$$.

The frogs you got are fine. Never used rattles, as the frog should create enough noise. Re; the swimbaits, the ones I suggested have to ordered online. Again, any and all baits are not a guarantee that you'll catch fish, but they will give you a better chance at it. I go to el d whenever I can, usually when the gates open, until about 11:00am..or a bit later if the bite is good..lol

Line Testing Results
At the risk of repeating myself...the invisx, and abrasx really disappointed me, in so far as, Not being abrasive resistant at all, other than that, I liked the lines, up until I lost 3 Quality fish in a row..and it was the line that broke, not the knot, ect..I have caught fish in the same spot with my trusted yozuri lines, and never had any on them break. As for braid..you either love it, or hate it. I hated the brands I tried, until I used the Diawa Samuri.

your most productive blue bird bait
I have fished with 1 to 1 1/2 foot waves on the water..fish will be deeper, and not affected by the wind. Deep cranks, or jigs, ect for the bottom.

El Dorado Park in Long Beach
No headphones. Was wearing a tan visor, maroon sweatshirt, and green shorts. Not to offend, but don't buy anymore of the storm stuff, waste of $$$. Plus they aren't weedless. I'll PM you with the details of baits ect.

The end all thread
The number of rod's & reels, depends on the techniques you use. You could get by with 2, but if you added flipping and swimbaits, I'm talking the heavier baits, you would be very limited with just 2 setups. I have a mix of sorta real good stuff, and some middle of the road stuff, and some that's below a 100.00 for a few of my rods. In the end, buy the best you can afford, above all..have FUN! and don't worry about what the Jones have..
