  1. They make great Fish Tacos..the stripers that is..
  2. Fish Tacos..........MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm Good!
  3. Thought you guys might get a chuckle out of this..
  4. I run clean fresh water over my reels that get used for the salt, i.e. a Curado, and a Castaic..never had any problems with water pouring out of them..I have them serviced 2 times a year.
  5. There...fixed it for ya... ;D
  6. Gratz Kent...we did our 43rd in June..geez, I must REALLY be old..lol
  7. I use both, and after getting use to the split grip, I prefer them on my spinning rig. As for a baitcaster, either one works for me.
  8. I've thrown the Hudd 6" trout baits during, before, and after trout plants. In a city park lake, fishing from shore. The best time for me was just before the plants. It seems that during the plants, the bass would ignore our swimbaits. After the plant, I've had some good follows, with smaller bass hitting my Hudd, seems the big girls never wanted to play at that time. But, I still throw em, cuz you never know..
  9. If I remember to take a few rigs, then I'll use my 7'MH/F for the Rage Tail. the Hollow frogs get tossed most times with a 7'6" HF.
  10. Citica...or as RW said, a good used Curado.. 8-)
  11. Did you see something I didn't..? @ 1:07 All I saw was a guy trying to get that fsih clear of the pilings..I didn't see what appears to you to be, moby dick.. :-?
  12. I'd toss out a 1/2 oz. jig with a craw trailer..Or a DS with a fluke. IMHO your better off fishing below the surface. If you can see a weedline, that's where you want to place your bait.
  13. Get the rod YOU feel most comfy with..
  14. Lesson #1..NO hitting, or Biting Below the belt.. ;D
  15. What about man-made reservoirs? they don't have to put Crawfish in them. Just saying, not all places have craws. Most of our lakes are man made, and as far as I know, they ALL have craws in them..
  16. I'd say you have a nice set up..I'd keep the Citica. I'd recommend the Yozuri Hybrid Ultrasoft, more manageable.

you mean the Robo zipper Shakin right? cause yeah, thats my biggest producer as far as worms. but in oxblood. and the senko cut tails too, in plain ole watermelon seed. awesome bait. Don't fish zipper worms...
  18. I have the 7'11" H GS for swimbaits, I also have a Dobyn's 807 Mag, which retails for about twice the price. The Dobyn's has better action, and is lighter, and a tad more sensitive, but I think for the $$$ the Okuma is a great deal. Overall finish is good, guides are pretty nice, ect. Again a good rod for the $$$. I also have a C3 Concept from Okuma.
  19. Maybe a visit to the Doc is in order..? I'm feeling much better than I did last weekend, although, I'm still a bit stuffy, and have a slight cough. Are you taking anything for the fever ect..?
  20. Hook get buried on baits like a roboworm for example, it's soft and thin enough that the hookup ratio won't hurt. On baits like a sweetbeaver where a EWG hook is most used, I prefer to skin hook, hookup ratio is better, and from my experience, the bait doesn't get ripped up as fast. Now if I'm fishing thick weeds, or wood ect, then I'll keep the point in the bait, and pray..lol
  21. if you can't get a slowsink Mattlures hardgill, this would be my next choice. 4.5" blugill from Tylures..action is good at any speed, cost, 29.99
  22. Re: swimbaits rods, and reels. You don't need a 300 yd capacity round reel. I've thrown them on my Chronarch 101 bvp..A reel such as the Curado 300 works just fine. Also, if your not into spending a ton of $$ on gear, look around at some used stuff, you can some Great deals if you know where to look.. For the smaller swimbaits, a good 7'6" to 7'11" H rod will suffice.
