  1. I also like the Yozuri, but I'd recommend you get the Ultrasoft, for both baitcast, and spinning reels. I use the ultrasoft on all my rigs except for flippin, and some swimbait, test ranges from 6lb to 20 lb.
  2. X2..I tried the spiderwire ultracast, just didn't cut it for me..the Samurai is my braid of choice, both in salt, and fw.. 8-)
  3. I've flipped with rods from 7' to 8', my old stand by was a 7'6"..then one day just kinda goofing around, I tied a 3/4oz jig, and trailer on my 8' swimbait rod ( Dobyns 806 Mag), and to my surprise, I liked it better than the 7'6" rod, so length is a personal deal. I also use 55lb Samurai braid. On setting the hook, I make sure to give a quick 1-2 count, keeping my rod tip between 2 and 3 o clock, then swing for the fences.. ;D
  4. Got a few FS in shad, floaters, and ss, a few babywakes in shad and trout. Can't afford the OG's or Real Deals..so Speed, you suck... ;D Be sure to try the Missionfish, they do catch fish, and are pretty weedless. Fish them just as Mickey show's in his vid.
  5. White 1/2 or 3/4 oz with a brown craw type trailer, when the fish are starting, or have bedded..
  6. Ha, some of the old school volleyball players could easily out jump most b ball playerz, playing on sand will do that.. 8-)
  7. not really impressed with any of the baits, as most look like knock offs..
  8. I'm waitin on the floaters... 8-)
  9. Their baits are hand made, Micky can only make em so fast. Worth the wait. if you look in the right places, there are 3:16's for sale. Getfished, do have any 4" missionfish in shad colors..?
  10. Knot...I'll go against the grain here..I use the uni to uni, never had a problem.. 8-)
  11. A fast reel will work too, you just have to be aware of how fast you retrieve the bait..Some baits work real well burning them, so a faster reel does have a place for swimbaiting.. 8-)
  12. The above will help a bunch. Let the rod do the work, don't try and cast a mile out there.
  13. If your gonna throw baits like a 8" punker, which flies pretty far, you want a reel with some line capacity. I like the Curado 301, the winch would be good choice too.
  14. X2 ...although mine only lasted for about a year, they are cheap, so buy a couple..
  15. Thanks Raul..I think people tend to see the smaller dogs as non aggressive due to their size, and those folks tend to see the larger breeds as "guard" type dogs. IMHO, APBT's are among the sweetest dogs on earth, it's a shame that the ghetto types breed them for all the wrong reasons, plus there's thousands of pitties in shelters that die every week.. :'(
  16. I agree that it is a leader. OTH, I sometimes use a splitshot rig, which requires no leader..
  17. Yes, I use ultrasoft on my bc reels, as well as my spinning reels. I have used 8 to 20lb test ultrasoft on bc reels w/o any issues.
  18. It's Magic...lol Didn't think I'd need to explain it, but here ya go...For C rigs, I use the same line i.e. usually 8 lb yozuri ultrasoft for the leader, and main line. I do not as a rule use leaders for other apps. Hope that clears it up.. 8-)
  19. Not to popular, but I've used the uni to uni a bunch, even with some heavy baits, i.e. swimbaits inb the 4 oz. range, and never had a knot problem, if tied correctly...just sayin.. 8-)
  20. Really? Are you talking about your main line or your leader? Yup, really..I don't use leaders much. So far haven't had any break off issues with the lighter line on my C rigs. If I'm in a rocky, or heavy cover situation, I'll go up in line test.
  21. I fish my spinnerbaits mostly with a bc set up..However, I do use my spinning rig sometimes. Where I fish, slowrolling is what gets the fish most of the time, so my Chronarch 5:2 to 1 works real well, when I switch to a faster gear ratio, i.e. a 6:2 to 1 I have to really watch my retrieve, as I get going to fast sometimes..lol a 6:1 or faster is great for burning spinnerbaits though.
  22. Here's my stuff.. All plastics, i.e. DS, T rig, and C rig, is with Youzuri Ultrasoft 6 or 8 lb test. Jigs, spinners, chatter, and cranks get the same line in 10 or 12 lb test. Frogs, and heavy flipping get 55lb braid. Light pitch & flip, I use 15 lb Yozuri Ultrasoft. Swimbaits..small, up to 6" 15 to 20 lb Yozuri Ultrasoft. Heavy swimbaits, 55lb braid, and or 20 to 30 Yozuri Hybrid. If you fish Heavy structure, you might want to use heavier line in some apps. IMHO, some guys go way overboard with using heavy line, i.e. light cranks that go 5' deep on 20 lb test, ect. in open water.
  23. The Diawa Samurai will fade, but very little. I use it in the both FW, and salt. My line is about a year old. When it gets wet, it is obviously darker, but when dry, it looks about 2 to 3 shade lighter.
  24. use to fish the Zoom lizzie's, until the ragetail lizards came out..
  25. Strike King Pure Poison.. 8-)
