I'll have to agree on the 3:16 Missionfish..not real popular, but they do catch fish. I like the 7" and 5" models. Bottom bouncing them is killer. 8-)

Try the Ultrasoft Yozuri..It's been working well for me for over a year now.

I use a uni to uni knot, 8 loops on the fluro, and 6 loops on the braid..never had a knot fail yet. There are other knots that work well too.

That sux..I did notice the 4X4's on that fence...They should be buried in concrete at least 18" into the ground, I prefer 24" even here in so. cali. I also dig out a bell shaped hole, that puts more concreted at the bottom, and resists pulling out a bit better.

I agree. You could use a 4' fluro leader if ya want, I'd go 20 to 25 lb. Just make sure you tie a Good knot..

Which size punker..also, is the wood, or injected one..? I have a wood 9" punker, the action is crazy good..

Just out of curiosity how many have you received so far..? Maybe up the age limit to 16 if there aren't that many..?

If your just starting out. I would highly recommend you seek out a Good instructor, find one that is to your liking..It's hard to Unlearn bad habits in golf, much easier to learn the right way the first time around. I tried learning on my own for about 2 months, once a found a good pro, all of the bad things I tried went away eventually, and I started seeing better scores, and way less errant shots.

First off, I've been using KVD L&L for awhile. At the last Fred Hall show in Long Beach, I stopped by the Yozuri booth, cuz I use their ultrasoft line. So I asked one of the guys, if there was any benefit using L&L on their line, the only word he spoke was a matter of fact NO..it doesn't do anything. Having heard that, I stopped using L&L for awhile on the Yozuri, and to my surprise, the line was just as managble w/o the L&L. Being a copoly line, does the L&L penetrate it, or just coat it..?

You could also try a fluke on a dropshot..

There's a bunch of guys that throw trout pattern swimbaits in lake that have no trout, and they catch fish with em..It's the presentation that matters most..

The Cardiff 300 would be a decent choice. BTW, I've spooled my Curado 301 with 25lb mono..still have plenty of line..Bass don't make long runs, like a striper would.

Well done Wayne....I like the 55lb samuri, and the cost isn't bad when you consider how long it last's.

You don't have to have a "round" reel unless your fishing for stripers ect..for bass I've used my Chonarch BVP 101, which I still use now and then. A reel such as the Shimano 300 will work. I prefer a 5:2 to 1 reel, although I do use a 7:to 1 allot. You can always slow down, but it's hard to burn a bait with a 5:2 to 1 vs the 7: to 1 reel. You will get different opinions on reels, just as you re: rods for certain swimbaits.

If it werent for my mistake back/pinched nerve, I still be playing..Once you get the Correct clubs, ect..it's the green fees that eat up the $$$..lol I got down to a 5 handicap..sucked that I had to give it up..Now I just fish more..lol

With regards to the 6" SS BBZ..retrieve should be VERY slow...mine stays down, depending on the speed that I retrieve it at..And yep, I would go with the 6", especially if your lake stocks trout.
