Fishing Tackle Giveaway Contest.

Featured Replies

  • Super User

I have accumulated an assortment of tackle which I do not use or have duplicates of. A majority of the tackle is brand new, while some is slightly used. The tackle consists of soft plastics, hard baits, spinner baits and terminal tackle made by Lucky Craft, Zoom, Culprit, Rapala, Strike King and a few other brands.

I would like to pass this tackle on to a BassResource member who is 15 years of age or younger, free of charge. Though age verification will be mainly on the HONOR system, winners may be requested to produce a scanned copy of their valid, school identification card.

All you need to do to qualify is submit an essay to me via a PM. Only one essay per member will be allowed. The subject of the essay will be about fishing AND what you like about or have learned from being a member of BassResoure. Your essay will be scored on content, spelling and proper grammar and shall be written in English. Your essay must be written by you and not someone else. The moderators will select the top ten (10) essays from those entered. BassResource members will then be able to vote for their favorite essay out of the top ten. The two winners will be selected by whoever receives the most votes. Members can only vote once. The deadline for entries will be November 1, 2010 at midnight (Eastern Time).

Remember, this contest is going to be based mainly on the Honor System so please don't try and cheat some youngster out of winning.

Good luck and you may begin with your essay.

P.S. Submit your essay to me via a PM. You may NOT modify your essay once it has been submitted. The moderators will post the top 10 essays for member voting after November 1, 2010.

There is no limit on the amount of words. You can write your essay as long or short as you want.

Only one essay per member is allowed. Do NOT change your screen name and try submitting more than one essay.

So far, there has only been ONE essay submitted. I have spoken to a couple members who recommend the contest be extended 2 more weeks.  We have also decided to announce the contest on the forums Facebook site. I hope the change in rules is fair to the only person who submitted an essay, but where is the fun in winning by default.

If the rule changes are unfair to the only entrant, then I will make it up to him, but the the contest will continue.

Is there a word minimum, or maximum, like a slot of 500-1000 words?

For you BC, no less than 20,000 words.  ;)

Seriously though, good question.

There is no limit on the number of words.  (Except for you BASSclary, your essay shall not exceed 1,000,000 words. I know that will be hard to do but I'm sure you can handle it ;D) .Just remember, the more you write means the better your spelling and grammar will have to be.  But, on the flip side, your essay may lack content if you don't write enough.

P.S.  Please, please do not let this contest interfere with your regular studies.

I wonder how many guys are in the EDIT MY PROFILE section? Changing their date of birth. :D

Glenn this sound like a good annual event. We (the members)can provide pieces of tackle and give it out every year.

Ya, but I wonder how many of them can get a fake student ID card?

Oh, and we reserve the right to call the school who issued the card for verification purposes.  8-)

My school ID doesn't have age written on it, so I wonder how many other schools have age on it?
