  1. At a very small park pond, there was a guy and his g/f fishing for bluegills. The guy was talking to the park ranger, and within a couple of mins. gets a hit, he's reeling in the gill, and all of a sudden, his reel starts singin like crazy, he only has a light rig...so the ranger is watching this, as are we, and he finally lands the gill, witha 7.5lb lmb attached to it..The bass wasn't even hooked, just wouldn't let go. So he lips the bass, weighs is, and CPR..the ranger was amazed, as were the onlookers, needless to say the dude was pretty happy, not so much for the 6" bluegil..lol
  2. A big bass will eat anything it feels it can swallow...they do make 13" swimbaits..
  3. Roy Orbison...nuff said.. 8-)
  4. Yup, in some of the park lakes I fish, during the spring, ducks will have the babies swimming behind the adults, there could be 5 one day, and 4 or even 3 left the next day. I've seen a bass try to snag one, although she missed, they do and will eat anything they think they can swallow. As for JSJ, it's seems more of a buzz bait, with a bird body, however, if you don't try it, you'll never know if it will get you a toad..
  5. The first top 2 are not trucks..the rest are..I was just trying to show that our diesels can in fact run pretty decent, plus I was just messin with ya too..
  6. Same here all they talk about is boost for me its "All throttle no bottle"them little cars though re whats IN now .They are what the 69,s were to us in the 80,s >i hate them though i have a few buddies with diesels that use these little cars for snacks wether on the street or track.Pretty cool when your tow vehicle is pushing 11,s pulling your REAL racer thats pushing low 7,s >bring on the weedeaters Lets see your diesels try to run with this. It's all motor. No boost, no nitrous. I hate the cars, but they can be really quick. Here's a short list of some ...times for some of the Diesels that have a little get and go..I left the ones that run 11:00 and slower off.. 1.Banks Rail 7.17 @ 181.08 2.Banks Sidewinder Type-D 7.72 @ 179 3.Dirtymax Michael 9.214 @ 141.02 5/9/10 (Wade 9.46 @ 150) 4.N20 Dmax 9.70 @ 129.47 (broke innercooler boot before the finish) 5.Max'd Out Rob 9.71 @ 140.96 4/11/10 (Nathan 10.03 @ 134) 6.Mike Woods Dmax Mustang 9.717 @ 147.88 7.Orange Crush 9.87 @ 139 8.Extreme Prejudice 10.32 @ 132.7 3/6/10 9.Nasty Girl 10.35 @ 131 10.BadDmax 10.43 @ 132.31 11.Stingpuller 10.47 @ 131.75 12.Casper Kat 10.59 @ 128 (McRat 10.65 @ 130 13.Duramini2001 10.72 @ 130.4 mph 14.Rhall 10.72 @ 128.0 15.NLDP 10.85 @ 123 16.J&R Auto GMC (Brian) 10.87 @ 131.38 (Jamie) 10.96 @ 127.53 17.Rush/Big Bird 10.96 @ 128 BTW, the # 12 truck, Casper, is a daily driver here in so. cali. and these are 7k lb trucks.

Being that I've caught more fish on Roboworms, I'd have to say...............Roboworms.. ;D 6" flat tail, in assorted colors.
  9. With all the recommends re: fluro ect. I now only use 2 types of line. Yozuri and samuri braid. I find the Yozuri Ultrasoft works on both spinning, and baitcasters real well.
  10. I could be wrong, but I believe that's the Eruo look... ;D
  11. You could, BUT..it would depend on your bait selection, i.e. the lightest, and heaviest baits. For example, on the Okuma guide series 7'11" H, I can throw baits from 1 oz to about 3.5 oz's, w/o feeling the rod is gonna snap. I have thrown the 8" Hudd SS, and the 8" BBZ SS, and my 9" Punker with the Okuma, however, I feel better and get more distance with the 8' Dobyn's 807 Mag. You could always start with the 7'11" H Okuma and a Curado 300 series reel, which I would recommend over the Cardiff, unless you get a smokin deal on the Cardiff, and upgrade down the road if you feel you want to be dedicated to swimbaiting..just a thought.

We "All" knew it was there, we just ignored it..
  13. 90 degrees here today..came down with a cold Friday...Argh.. > Here's to feeling better, and dam soon..
  14. These are about 20.00 more than you asked about, but..great rods, great warranty! Shimano Compre about 99.99 http://www.***.com/Shimano_Compre_Casting_Rods_IM8_Graphite/descpage-SCCR.html
  15. Re: the swimbait rigs..I would suggest the following. For lighter swimbaits, I would go with the 7'11" H vs the MH..this rod will throw baits like the 6" BBZ ect pretty well, and can be used for some 8" baits. I had a Chronarch bpv 101 mounted on mine for awhile. I now have Curado 301's, which work great. As for the heavy swimbaits, may I suggest if it's within your budget, to look at the Dobyn's 807 Mag. While the Okuma is a great rod for the money, I feel it has a tip that's a tad to soft for the bigger baits, while the 807 chucks baits like the 8" hudd, punker, BBZ ect a country mile, and I would also recomend going with a rod closer to 8' for max. casting distance. You can find used 807's for a great price, even the Gen 1 is a great rod, the gen 2 is even better, but more costly.
  16. Always user a uni to uni, never had any problems with the knot going through the guides. The key is to keep your loops in order. I do 7 to 8 loops on the braid side, and 6 on the fluro side. Cinch them up tight (wet the lines) and you should wind up with a knot that's skinny, and about 1/8 to 3/16 long. I have used this knot for heavy swimbaits, and never had one snap. If your not wanting to use a fluro, or mono, might consider a copoly, which has some stretch, is more sensitive than mono, has better abrasion resistance than fluro. Also, if your going to use a leader, you can get away with 3' or longer, depending on the circumstances.
  17. Whats the big deal about Black..?
  18. Motorcycle roadracing..i.e. Go fast, and corner low..
  19. Sonny & Cher...
  20. Always tie direct, unless the maker of the bait provides a snap or whatever.
  21. This ain't golf... 4
  22. Surely your not suggesting Pink Floyd was a bad band..? :-?
  23. Man, you are old if you can remember Blue Cheer. Dion and the Belmont's....hit song was Run Around Sue..I can go back even further if need be.. ;D
