If a is fish caught with a live meal in its mouth, do you release it with the meal.
I don't think you did it wrong..afterall, the bass caught the craw, he shouldn't be deprived of a meal just cause you happen to catch him/her.. I wouldn't remove a meal unless it threatened the bass, i.e. gagging to death.

Fluoro leader w/t Power Pro
FWIW, I use yozuri hybrid in mist green, and have fished some clear water, and semi stained...in the end, the fish still hit my bait, same goes for the clear version..

Random crankbait use question
What actions are your rods..? i.e. a 7' mhm, isn't gonna load up enough to toss a lighter bait, however, a 7' mxf or fast will toss it much farther.

2003 Chevy Silverado 1500
Well, I'm a Chevy man, so of course I'd say go for it.. ;D I have a 2003, cept mine is a xtra cab, 4X4 Duramax with the allision tranny, and the long bed... 70k isn't that many miles, providing the truck was properly maintained, and not abused, heck I bought a 93 F150 with a tick over 80k, and finally traded it in with 197k on it. The Silverado will pull your boat ..no problem. Treat your truck right, and it'll treat you right..

baitcasting rant..
When in the cast waas the birdsnest happening..? If it was during the first part of the cast, add 2 more brakes/pins. If it was at the end of the cast, your thumb needs more work..lol Also, if you try and be real , what I call Wristy, i.e. snap your wrist hard, a overrun is more likely to occur. Just my 3 cents, but I'd add the 2 brakes, and practice throwing a 1/2 or 3/8 oz plug in your yard for awhile, as the plug begins to decend, strat feathering the spool with your thumb, same as you would with a lure on the end, feather/stop the line before the lure hits the water. Once you can do this with regularity, it's time to go back to fishing. I recomend that you not try to cast a country mile at first, but try to be accurate, then as you gain confidence, try castin a tad further, you may need to loosen the spool friction knob or tighten, experiment to see what works best. also as you become more better, take the 2 brakes back off..It'll take time, but it's worth the practice.

st. croix mojo bass rods
I hate to be the one to add a negative here, but...yesterday I got to cast the mojo a bit, it was the spinning rod, mf..2 things I didn't care for, 1..the weight, felt heavy compared to my rod, same size and power, next the split grips, just a persoanl thing but they were uncomfotable for me. The mojo bc'r I wasn't impresssed with, took my reel to bps, and the rig just felt heavy, and unbalanced to me. I mounted on a bps extrem finesse, and felt good, same goes for the Rick Clunn rod. So, different strokes, for different folks..

Yo Zuri Hybrid vs PLINE PF/CX/CXX review
But seriously, I trust the opinions of many of the members on this forum. I think this is a fairly knowledgeable and discerning consumer base so if a product is preferred by many of the members than I think it is probably worth looking at.

How Would You Handle the Situation?
No way. Then the nut jobs of the world learn nothing, and this behavior becomes acceptable. This guy needs to be disciplined. Agreed..same as letting a young child do things they shouldn't, you correct the behavior promptly.

Soft plastic... set the hook like a pro?
Also depends on how your fishin the plastic's too. C rig is a sweeping side motion, all others are as straight up and down as possible. I set the hook on the fisrt tap. As was mentioned, wait to long, and the fish likely gets gut hooked. Also for dropshoting, use a circle/octopus hook vs a worm or straight shank hook, if a dink hits the ds, your less likely to hook them in the eye, but I've always had good luck with circle hooks. Also I don't RIP my hooksets, unless I'm in deep water or weeds, ect..use sharp Owner hooks..

Fishing plastics
I think Fishfordollars about covered it...
