  1. WTG...I use the ragetail craws, or a modifiyed gybc hula..You can also use a 4 1/2" worm too. I like the craws cuz they slow down the drop, gives the fish more time to strike..
  2. I have a BPS Rick Clunn 7'mf worm/dropshot rod that I throw cranks with. Is it the best..? No, would a crank rod be better..? yes, but I've caught fish with it, and it cast's a long ways too. Only downside is Deep cranks, really put a bend in the rod..lol so if your throwing deep cranks, imho best to get a crankin stick..
  3. I dunno, been using yozuri hybrid ultrasoft on all my reels, 6 & 8 lb mist green on my spinning reels..w/o any issues. Headhunter, check your pm's.
  4. A just for instance..at any park, they have 55 gal trash cans, yet right next them, i.e. within 6" is trash on the ground, plus everywhere else..Morons.. > When we go riding our m/c's off road, we take big ole trash bags, cuz we know there's gonna be trash that needs to be picked up. At city ponds, I have found 20# mono with hooks tied on, just laying in the grass..what if some small kid were to step on it..? You pack it in, then you pack it out.. Help Keep America Clean..
  5. Slow sink here too..I have the dirty shad..wished I'd got the reg. shad pattern..but, it does have great action..
  6. Why would anyone throw litter anywhere..? This is your country, state, city/town ect..wethere it's dry land, or a wet lake..Do people toss trash in their yard..? I have No patience for litterbugs.. >
  7. I thought you looked familar... ;D Welome aboard Rudy.. 8-) I see Mike's here too..
  8. Welcome Bob, saw your thread about mid day fishing..you got some good advice, which is abundent here..enjoy your stay.
  9. Well, other than the dinks..it seems the "lockjaw" syndrom is in effect. We went to a popular "Bass" lake last Wed..conditions were almost perfect, we threw everything in the box, yet the bigger bass didn't seem to have any intrest..we caught lots of dinks, the would follow our swimbaits ect. We did get a 5.5. lb'r in 3' of water, my guess the fish was lookin for bluegill in the rocks. Hopefully this lockjaw stuff wil vanish soon...comon Sept..and cooler weather..
  10. We have city ponds that are usually 6' deep max..the depth where we cast to is only about 4' deep that tapers to less than a foot deep at the shore line..we use the ds all the time, in fact right now at one of the ponds, it's the Only way we are able to catch bass. So yup the ds works well from shore..Unless you have a fairly smooth bottom on the lake, I'd use the Mojo weights, rocks play havoc with any other type...lol
  11. I have to chuckle when I see guys throwing a lightweight crank, or topwater with a bc, and they barley get it out 25', when a spinning rig would put it out Much further to cover more water and possibly catch more fish..
  12. Whats the big deal...Glenn needs to do the maint..so what, be lucky we have this site to be a part of...
  13. Always owned Minnkota's...I'll take the foot control anyday..
  14. I also have bad eyesight, i.e. astigmitisms, and a catoract in one eye. Seems my 3.75 reading glasses can no longer get the job done, and my depth preseption isn't all that great either, so now I tie a Palomar knot for 99.9% of all my knots. Once you learn it, it's easy.
  15. Spinning rigs are da bomb yo... ;D I can do anything with a spinning rig, you can do with a BC..I own both types and use them regularly..
  16. Another vote for the Shara, I have the 2500, and love it..Tough to beat for about $80.00
  17. Credit card...imho, his baits are well worth the $$$ he gets and then some..save your pennies..
  18. That Man is what people should be about, good Karma to him..you only get what you give, my guess is he's a rich man, not nessesarrly money wise...
  19. So...I had a slight problem with a hindge on my Mattlures hard bluegill. I e-mailed Matt a couple of times to ask if there's anything I could do to fix the problem, he recomended a couple of things, which I tried to no avail..so he said send it to me, and I'll get you another. In less than a week I sent mine out, and recived my new swimbait in the mail today. All I can say is that's GREAT service, no questions were asked, Matt just took care of biz. It's to bad all compamies don't offer customer service like Matt does. I'm a customer for life.. Thanks Matt. 8-)
  20. Toledo Bend ..Tx Clear Lake..No. Cali Chlamplain...we all know where that is..
  21. WTG CWB...all about the Ragt Tails... Thanks for the report.!
  22. I trim mine, and fan out the guards, but leave them all in.
  23. Not many public lakes will let you fish at night here in so cali...and the couple that do won't let rental boats out.. >
