hello from socal

Featured Replies

what's up fellow anglers. let me tell you a little bit about myself.

i live in southern california (L.A. county), and i've been flyfishing for about 18months now, but recently picked up a bait casting setup 1 week ago. i usually fish city lakes (like in central park) that are heavily poached by illegal fisherman.

it's been tough getting any of the local to share some fishing tips because of this reason. i myself practice CPR of all fish that i catch.

well i joined this site to get some help from fellow anglers that don't worry about me catchin' fish at their honey holes.

i tried to post some pics of my home lake and some of my recent catches but unable to (something about 10 posts) >:(

anyways, that's my story.

Welcome to the board, fellow Californian.

hey, what's up norcal. i used to live up there(roseville,ca) back in the day.

do you ever fish folsom lake?

i heard there's no more salmon fishing at nimbus dam. is this true.

Welcome. Good to see someone who flyfishes and does a baicaster. Not many out there.( I'm the only one that I know of within 100 miles of my house) Sorry to hear 'bout the poachers..........Just not right

Can't wait to see your pics!!! Do you bass fish with the Fly Rod???

i just started catching bass on the fly and i got a couple on cam. the reason why i picked up a bait casting setup was to learn how to "feel" the bass strike(plus picked up a revo for $40 :) ). actually i think learning how to catch bluegills on the fly helped me with "feeling" a bass bite on the worm.

yeah, there's very few of us flyfishers here at my local city lakes.

oh and the poachers. don't get me started about the poachers at my lakes.  >:( >:( >:( :'(

BTW how can i find out when i'm aloud to post pics?

i'm about a 1/2hr away from Prado and i haven't been fishing there yet. if i'm heading out that direction i usually wet my line at Puddingstone Lake.

FNN has been getting out of control with all the new members on board. i'll post up on there from time to time, but i mainly post up on HUSF (hookupsportfishing). the guys are much more friendlier there.

BTW nice avatar. 8-) is that your actual license plate?

yeah legg lake has been really good to me lately. i wish i could say the same for "Peck Pit". that place is tough, but i have seen some lunkers come out of there.

meeting up sounds cool just set a date and time.

i'll be heading out to Fairmont Park in Riverside later today for the evening bite. hopefully i'll leave there with something to report about.

Thanks, Yep, thats my actual plate. The wife got it for me this year, actually she paid for it last year and the DMV took about 4 months to get it to me
