  1. I have to set ups, not dedicated setups, but its what I use. reel: Shimano Sustain 2500 - 8lb bps flourocarbon Shimano Shara 2500 - 6lb yo-zuri rod: 7' M fast action St Croix mojo bass 6' 8'' Gander Mt Pro Series Shakey rod Not high dollar, but caught me a bunch of fish and a couple over 5lbs!
  2. I dont think line color matter, I have used 50lb braid in gin clear water and caught fish, I havnt noticed an increase of fish going to flourocarbon on my finesse rigs! I use 20/6 and 15/4 Braid on spinning gear a lot and never had a problem. Ive used 6-20 yo zuri and pline cxx and caught fish!
  3. Colling in sand also will forge it!
  4. My worms have been: Berkley Shakey Worm - Camo Strike King Finese (elaztech) 7'' - Dirt and Coppertruese Zoom Mag Shakey Worm - Mardi Gras I use those on: E2 evolution shakey jigs Strike King Football shakey jigs VMC barbarian shakey jigs
  5. Well, I helped my buddy out this morning for a couple hours, and had a little window, so I fished for 3 hours b4 heading back to finish! So the day started off with a nice smally! So I moved around a bit and stuck into this one It just so happened that fish was my PB RSMB (Personal Best River Smallmouth Bass) I then caught a catfish and was gonna pack up and head back when I decided to hit this one last rapid area! As Luck would have it... A new PB RSMB! I couldnt beleive it! Three hours one hell of a day on the ole maumee!
  6. Magic eraser works on almost everything lol, I love them!
  7. My setup isnt cheap, but its not expensive. I have a shimano sustain 2500 mated on a s 7' M Fast Shimano compre. The compre is 100$, but you can mate a sahara/symetre/saros on it! You would have an amazing setup!
  8. Do you just let the topwater float over, or do you work it? Also what kind of retrieve slow or burn it? Fast and frantic! Find a riffle, a spot in the river where it gets shallow and the water speeds up. Follow it to the end, where it starts to drop off from inches into a foot or two of water. The water should be moving very fast and should be very rippled. Cast across this and work your bait as the current sweeps it down....KABOOM! It might take you a little bit to find the sweet spot, but if they are there, you won't miss them. I like to use poppers. Buzzbait will work, and are a little easier to use. Thx for the advice, ill try that out when the waters goes down lol! We just got a lot of rain and the river is way up now!

  10. Well we just had a day long rain yesterday, gonna hit the river tomorrow I think it will be up a bit!
  11. The river I fish the maumee that feeds into lake erie is very low right now! I think it has to do with the fact that in Indiana they have a portion dam'd off for bridge work! I think that and a lack of rain has really effected the bite! I was earlier slayin them. Now since the river is so low the bite has really suffered! Ill catch a couple and thats it! I was curious if anybody has any suggestions for fishing river when its super low! I know where some of the deeper points are, but it seems no matter what I throw I cant get em!
  12. The few times I have went I have used strike king coffee tubes in watermelon with red or copper flake! Also I used gulp minnows and chompers 4'' drop shot worms!
  13. My first Lake Erie smally also my PB at 4lb 8oz! I do most my smally fishin in the river since I dont have a boat! My best river is 3lb 4oz no pic though =(
  14. craw patterns/ gold/ silver/ chartruese/ and natural shad colors! I am going to try some manns -1's and some shallow diving strike kings, I am curious to see if sexy shad will work!
  15. I am lucky enough to have 2 great smallmouth fisheries within a 1/2 hour of my house, the first being the maumee river that feeds lake erie and then lake erie lol! I use a lot of rebel craws (color depends on the day) and zoom flukes, dt-4 rapalas, 3 1/2'' and 4'' tubes, 1/8oz and 1/16oz jig heads with gulp minnow grubs! Those are my go to baits,
  16. Sounds like you had a great time, I am lucky enough to live 20 minutes from lake erie, and within an hour of a lot of great fishing on erie!
  17. Gimmicks or not, sometimes the slightest change in a bait is all that makes a difference. For example I was using Gander Mt trick sticks and so was my friend. He was catching 1 fish for every 3 I had. I was dipping the tail in chartruese spike it(or w/e its called) Sometimes It is a weight difference, Same kind of story I was at the walleye run with my friend this year, and he whipped me for the day using 3/8oz and I was using 1/2 oz and everything else was the same. So maybe it works better in certain applications. It surely doesnt hurt to try something for 5$.
  18. I have one and I love it, it cast weightless senkos like a dream, and I can cast red eye shads a country mile! Btw I have a 7' MH pro qual Rod!
  19. I love my compres, I had one break (my fault im clumbsy) They replaced it fast with no questions asked!
  20. I have caught a bunch of bass on them!!!!! The pink one with black dots!
  21. I see zoom has a new color called key lime pie and it looks nice, they will probally sell a lot of them!
  22. If they start to get hard, put them in a ziplock with garlic cooking spray, Ive done this to a few and they have caught bass still.

I love a local brand of tube hooks, the tackle shop makes thier own! The have ones with rattles,no rattles, and weed gaurds!
  24. Ive been using these since they came out, in fact I have noticed that my plastics have become mostly strike king. I dont know if the coffee works or not, but I have caught a lot of bass on them from smally on erie to largies all over the place pond/lakes/rivers!
