  1. I have both, I think the owners seem a bit more sturdy, but gammys have never let me down once, I use them both depending on what I grab out of my hook box!
  2. Ive only lost a few fish on hooksets with an ewg hook!
  3. I concur on the curado! I bought a bps reel took it back 2 weeks later and bought a curado! I now on my 3rd Curado 1 e5 2 e7 soon to be a 3rd e7!
  4. I want to get some of this, I used the venom tubes with megastrike added and they worked really well!
  5. The extremes are ok, I had a couple and replaced both with Pro qualifiers, the Rick Clunn is nice as well. Neither are as good as my Curado E! My next reel will be another curado e!
  6. I have tried a lot of stuff, fireline original(its ok wont use it again) Stren sonic braid(pretty good stuff) Power Pro(old spool from a friend worked pretty good), Spiderwire(old school stuff was ok) and the camo braid its ok as well, I am going to try the new fireline braid most likely in 30# since we dont have any cover here worth 50 or 65!
  7. So far for me its been, weightless/weedless zoom flukes on 2/0 or 3/0 hooks, 1/8 and 3/16 shakey head with 7'' berkley shakey worm and strike king red eye shads!
  8. Wacky rig senko, Shakey head (my new favorite bait), strike king bitsy jigs with new baby rage craw when it comes out. try 2'' gulp minnows on 1/8oz or 1/16oz jigheads!
  9. Big O I have been thinking of shakey rigging some rage craws do you think the rage craw could be used in such a way?
  10. Went to a pond of a friends today and caught a bunch of dinkers, untill I hit this badboy! 3/16 oz VMC shakey head with a 7'' Berkley camo shakey head worm on 6lb flourocarbon! Bass went 5lb 3oz on certified scale!
  11. I got lucky, I bought a wacky o ring tool for 1.99$ then I I bought a few packs of the o rings off a local forum for 25 cents a pack lol, I have more o rings then I will ever use!
  12. I dont know rule wise, but I have to jig rods one is 7' MH and the other is 7'6 H and I think you need some backbone for jig fishing! My rule is I feel the bite I reel down and proceed to try and rip thier face off! I have lost a few fish that I set to quick on. I have never lost a fish with a solid hookset! I also use 30lb braid with a 20lb flouro leader or just braid in the real nasty mess!
  13. I love my curado e5, best reel I have ever owned!
  14. I fish a lake with a lot of milfoil, I use a weightless zoom fluke on a 2/0 or 3/0 hook, rigged weedless, I let it fall, and give it a lil jerk and the bass cant seem to stay away!
  15. Place is awesome, I am glad I live 5 minutes from their store lol!
  16. Other than the zoom fluke, I have found myself to be using all strike king plastics!
  17. Saros, I have 4 saros, 1 sustain 1 stradic and 2 symetres! And I would say overall fvor the money the saros is the best value!
  18. Ive used all kinds of braid with a palomar knot and never had a problem!
  19. Get a shimano clarus fofr a great budget rod!!
  20. Strike King rage tail frog/shad rigged weedless!
  21. Well I got the pleasure to go out on the big lake for some fishing, so here is what I ended up with! A personal best 4 1/2 oz smally here is a close up pic!
  22. I have a few and I like them a lot, I also have a couple convergence, 3 compres, 2 crucial and a cumara I love all my shimano gear!
  23. I made the switch from trilene to suffix elite and havnt looked back!
  24. For the walleye run here we use a nice rig so you dont get hung up so often. I use 10 lb main line to a 1/2 oz (give or take some weight depending on current) 1/2 oz inline sinker (a swivel end on both sides) to 8 lb leader line (regular mono is fine) then we use floating jig heads with a single tail grub (think mister twister) With this set up you dont loose as many sinkers just a few jig heads.
