  1. Welcome To California, The Land Of Fruits And Nuts! We have got some VERY crazy laws out here but remember, what starts out here usually spreads accross the country. Sorry guys!
  2. Yet another Abu man here, I cant count how many I have. I still have and use a few of my old Pro Max reels and I love my Morrum SX reels as well.
  3. I agree that chances are it will not hurt it however, I always place my transom saver in place then use a rubber bungee type strap to secure it and I also use another strap to secure my steering wheel in place by attaching it to my side grab rail so it cant move.
  4. I'm not sure exactly what it imitates but I know I've had my best luck with the color when the water is dirty. However even when the water is clear it works at timnes. As has already been said, something that really stands out and says "BITE ME!" ;D
  5. I've had alot of luck waking a Huddleston Deluxe, 0 ROF, rate of fall, over points with deep water on both sides as well as in the shallows.
  6. Good points above. Also be sure to work curves and bends very thoroughly asell.
  7. Actually, he is kinda cute.................. BWHAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I really dont think my wife or his would have approved
  8. I also use the Loomis 956 and love it. However, from the baits you mentioned, if you can afford it, I'd go with the Loomis 904
  9. Topwater= Sammy Shallow= Norman Pro Edge Little N Mid depth= Norman Pro Edge DD14 Deep= Norman Pro Edge DD22 By the way, I ALWAYS keep a Huddleston Trout tied on.
  10. I agree with the others that have replied. Find yourself a beater truck. While your car might be able to handle the boat you will wear it out quickly.
  11. I know I have the braided stainless brake lines on the truck. I would assume that something like that would work on your trailer as well.
  12. What do you tow your rig with and if you dont have a boat what do you take to go fishing? Me, I have a customized Black 2005 Chevy Silverado VHO, LQ9 6.0 with a Magna Charger 122 Radix, GM Performance Products L92 Heads, a Custom Ground Crane Cam, Yank Torque Converter, Built transmission and Detroit Tru Track rear end. For stopping power I've got the 15 inch drilled and slotted Baer Eradispeed rotors. The suspension mods include a 2/3 inch Bell Tech drop with front and rear sway bars and Street Performance Shocks. Yes, I can get to the lake in a hurry. Anyhow, here a picture of mine, post up yours.
  13. HA! Thats funny guys! BTW, my "hidden hand" was around his neck so he couldnt eascpe,,,,,,,,,,,, BWHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Just kidding, it was on the rail of my boat. I'll post my story of the trip a little later in the correct forum, once I figure out which one that is.
  14. I was wondering which section I would start a thread in about what kind of vehicle everyone uses to take fishing, be it to haul their boat or just to take fishing. Please advise
  15. That was pretty darn quick, obviously your a NASCAR fan also.
  16. Here's a picture of me, my Champion and my fishing buddy. Can anyone guess who my fishing buddy is?
  17. I would have to say that the one thing that has made me a better bass fisherman is the insane amount of time I am able to spend on the water. The more I go, the more I learn.
  18. Just like others have stated, save yourself some money, save up and get the biggest you can. When I first started tournament years ago I was a non boater so I got to ride in a bunch of different boats. IMHO, as well as others, the bigger boats handle the rough water better. True, allot depends on the driver but basic physics says the bigger the boat the more water it will displace, the smoother the ride.
  19. I have a 201 Champion, a 8 foot Jon Boat and a float tube but I've been looking closely at the Fold Cat by Sea Eagle for several reasons. There are times that I fish back water areas that I cant launch the full sized bass boat and the Jon boat fills up the bed of my truck. With my belly boat I have to put on waders and and if I'm fishing in weeds the legs can get caught up in the weeds and it is limited on storage. The Fold Cat looks like it will be somewhat close to the fish-ability of the Champion. hmmmm.
  20. An easy and effective way to secure your plastic's is to take some shrink wrap, run it up your hook shank, cut a few little slits in it at a 90 degree angle and heat it up with a lighter. When it hardens you will have little barbs that will hold it. Harvey and Gregg Stump at Robo Worm make a hook called a re-barb basically this way but your limited in selection so that is why I make my own. You can do this on regular hooks, jigs, spinnerbaits, whatever.
  21. IMHO nothing better than TTI Companies X-Point and Daiichi
  22. It would depend on how many other rods you have. If you need it then use it. Me personally, I have quite a few quality rods so if I had it I would probably not use it
  23. Lets see, obvious huh? Its obvious that no one knows exactly what your asking, including me. HA! I've studied it pretty closely and have determined that its a pretty deep looking lake, has a few under water points and a few coves.
