Comparing Magazines
I like In-Fisherman, but my favorite is Field and Stream. Field and Stream has good fishing tips in the spring and summer, and excellent hunting tips in the winter, especially for deer.

Falconers
Just curious, but is anyone here a falconer? I have done a little research on the sport to see what it is like. When I was six, I read My Side Of The Mountain and loved the falcon. I just wanted to get first hand information.

My First Deer
Alright, I am a little pumped right now because I shot my first deer! It was six points and scored an 88. It was an eight year old, and its teeth were the saddest teeth I have ever seen. I will try to get the pictures on here.

Pearl Harbor-65 years
All those men were incredible.

any fly rodders
I love to fly fish! Bass are fun on a fly rod, but nothing is like fishing a trout stream in the mountains as the sun is rising. Anyway, I use a 6 weight Eagle Claw rod and a cheap reel (don't even know the name of it). On a fly rod, even the dinks seem to fisht hard! ;D

structureless lake
I fish a structurless lake all the time where it is extremly muddy. I have caught many, many five pounders from it. It is only five feet also! Fish near dock, but fish gravel beds extremely hard. Libless rattling crankbaits along with spinnerbaits work extremly well. at least for me. Good luck!

do you have a favorite lake?
A thirty acre private pond close to my house. It is only six feet deep and is EXTREMELY muddy. I have caught a lot of large bass there and have got them figured out.

What Weight Is A "Good Bass"
For me, a five pounder is a good fish. A an eight pound is spectacular.

Bass Pro Shops VS Cabelas
I like Bass Pro for their fishing selection and Cabela's for their hunting section. Bass Pro is closer also.

Need some weedy pond advice
Weedless Spro frog or a weightless senko should do the trick.

Jr. World record "Declined"
That "certified" scale thing drives me crazy. Aren't other scales just as good as any others? No matter what the IGFA says, he still holds the jr. world record for me. Here is something interesting though. There were two potential world records caught around the same time: Lake Dixon and the one this thread is on.

Fishing in wind!?!?
I fish in the wind in a lot. That is when I seem to catch all of the fish. The lures I primarily use are Strike King and Booyah spinnerbaits, Rooster Tails and Mepps spinners, and Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap chrome and bleedin' bass color. Go catch some fish!

Do Big Bass Return?
I was fishing the other day on a muddy lake with high winds. All the fish were wanting that day were beetle spins. So, I cast my beetle spin right under a willow tree. A second after the bait hit the water, a huge swirl appeared right in the area of my lure. I set the hook, and sure enough, I had a monster on the line. I fought her for about twenty seconds when she lept into the air, and, with a shake of her head, flicked the lure right out of her mouth and swam away, out of my sight and out of my life. Anyway, I would like to bring that fish back into my life and my boat. Do big bass return to the same area that you caught them in, say, in a few days?

YES!!! Permission Granted! Plus a ?
Try to find out what your friend was catching all those largemouth on. My lure selections would be poppers, spinnerbaits, worms, Rat-L-Traps.

Feeding Bass?
I hear of people feeding baitfish, which in turn fatten up the bass. Yet I have never heard of the strategy you mentioned?

Potential World Record PIC......what a fish!
THAT THING IS GYNORMOUS! (a word only in the fisherman's vocabulary that is used to describe something when there is no other word to describe it. Even if it is not the certified world record, it is in my book. Lake Dixon, here I come

Catch and keep
that segment was awful. Nothing is wrong with keeping small bass. Keeping small bass will just make the big fish get bigger because they will have more food. But you should not keep any bass at all during the spawn.

At What Time Did You Catch Your PB??

T-storms and bass fishing
Senko77 hit it right on the head. Whenever I fish right before a storm, I notice the pond is like an ocean with all those bass feeding. Once I leave when the storm rolls in, the bass have stopped feeding right as I pack up my things. Some of the neat things about the sport we love.

Accuracy of the Fish Weight Calculator?
How accurate is the fish weight calculator that is on this web site? Do you need to subtract a few pounds or add a few pounds? I do not own a scale mysel, so I would like to know the ability of the calculator. Thanks. Topwater Popper

Got to love a spinnerbait.

help me catch bass
Reading is essencial if you want to catch fish. Gobbledog, I presume reading is not your favorite thing to do?

help me catch bass
I was right at the point you are at the moment this time last year. ;D I still consider myself new to the sport of bass fishing, but I studied and fished as much as possible. Eventually you will go out to the lake and expect to catch fish. I agree with everyone. READ AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! The begginer section on this website is very helpful. And here is one hint: the bait monkey likes to hang around those articles all the time!

spawning question
Use a spinnerbait when fishing on the beds. If you do fish the beds, try to be quick in releasing the fish. Just try to not spend all your time fishing the beds.

fishing tomorrow
I forgot you had ice on the pond. I am used to fishing warm water.
