  1. Russ, how many kids will be in the fishing derby. I can pour a mixed bag of plastics for each one.
  2. Robby, I think he is meaning the Volunteer division of the BFL's. It's a division that is Tennessee based.
  3. Basspro, sorry to dash your hopes, but the rules say no one under 16. The only advice I have for you is to call your BFL tournament director and talk to him. Let him know how serious you are and what you have accomplished. See if there is any way that he knows of to get you in there. Good luck bud.
  4. Dude I'm all over that. I will be up there around that time. Shoot me a pm on some stuff I should buy.
  5. When dipping any skirt in JJ's, just know that the ends will curl up and after a few seconds they will straighten back out as the JJ's dries. Just a heads up.
  6. If you insist..... BPS no longer carries the BPS Finesse Craw, which is what I caught it on, but the Guido's Bug is an excellent soft plastic craw that will catch the crap out of em whether t-rigged, or fished on a jig. Again, make sure you work it extremely slow in the right areas and the size will improve
  7. Spro McStick fished on 6-8lb flourocarbon with a spinning outfit. Your gonna catch fish all winter long with this setup
  8. They both catch big fish, and they both catch dinks. If I need quality fish, I usually reach for a jig, but my PB, 14.7lbs, hit a tiny soft plastic craw from Bass Pro Shops. I think it has more to do with the area your fishing and how you work the bait. Anglers tend to over work a jig or plastic craw and that IMO is a huge turnoff to big fish.
  9. Funniest thing I have ever seen. I'm dying right now and everyone in my class is looking at me like I'm an idiot ;D
  10. ......could get good
  11. forget you ever saw it......
  12. I am gonna get roasted for this one, but IMO, the Spook is useless if the fish aren't in a 100% feeding mood. Before you go an say Senko is an idiot, hear me out. The Spook has an extremely loud rattle with a unique clacking sound. But it's LOUD. I've noticed that it works best in clear water and with schooling fish. The reason is because it will call up fish from deeper water, and it also sounds different when your pulling it through a school of shad, therefor making the bass attack it. Now, when they aren't very active, I really think that loud rattle turns them off a bit. I have no paint left on a few Sammy 100's and Spro Dawg 100's. I really think it's because it is alot more of a subdued rattle that won't intimidate the fish when they aren't in a super aggressive mood. I'm a big believer that when fish are a bit tuned down, a loud bait freaks them out. The only exception is using a loud bait extremely fast to trigger reaction strikes. So to sum it up, I think that they both have there place. When they fish are looking for a meal, the spook is good, but when there not so aggressive, which is probably 75% of the time, then the Sammy/Spro Dawg is the better choice.
  13. Congratulations. If you don't mind me asking, what are you getting in return for a fully wrapped boat?
  14. I like to use a backpack. I found a pack that has just enough room so I can carry 3 boxes, about 15 bags of plastics, pliers, scissors, a spool or 2 of line, some JJ's Magic and my KVD Line and Lure. Another thing when selecting a bag is to make sure it includes a pocket for your sunglasses. The advantage to a backpack is that it allows you to move more freely. Nothing sucks more than stepping from your buddies boat to your tournament partners boat and having one side of you weighed down with 700000lbs of tackle. It's not nearly as tiring as carrying a normal bag and the shape of it is tall and narrow so it fits better in the boat. I usually carry 4 rods, max 5.
  15. Natural, those jigs are stupid awesome! Are the skirts extra thick because you have larger crawfish in your area, or are you trying to achieve a slower fall?
  16. happy birthday ya'll!
  17. I like using the Finesse Wide Gaps for wacky rigging. It would work fine nose hooking, but I think the Gamakatsu Splitshot/Dropshot hook is a better choice. Like I said, the Finesse would work, but I've used both and I like my hookups better with the Ss/Ds hook. Another hook you can try is the #1 Gamakatsu EWG. Randall showed me this hook and it really works well on the Split Shot in grass and wood. Good luck dude and hope you find the right hook!
  18. Way to catch em Cade. That fish looks WAY bigger than 4 1/2 Glad the year is ending good. Your success will just make you come out hungrier when ice out hits next spring. Then it's time to get some redemption on that Jr. trail.
  19. $1.96 without my Kroger employee discount. $1.76 with my discount.
  20. nice, but it's like a carbon copy of the BBZ-1

This is gonna be a dynamite bait for post front fish. The bait is based on the same concepts as the Ima Flit. The 2 main concepts being the action in the body rather than the bill, which allows you to get it deeper without the added fatigue of a longer bill, and the rattles, which sound like lethargic shad. I was able to go to FLW touring pro Michael Murphy's house for dinner at my BFL regionals a few weeks ago and he gave me the scoop on the Mcstick and Ima Flit. He designed both. PM me if your thinking about either one of these baits but are skeptical about shelling out the dough for them. I have some info directly from Mr. Murphy on why you should have these things.
  22. It hasn't affected me yet. But yet is the key word. I wouldn't be surprised if I lost some sponsors or atleast got some of my "allowance" reduced when the contracts get sent out next January. I know for a fact that Tru-Tungsten/Picasso is doing some serious remodeling of their field/pro staff in 09' and I've heard that ALOT of people are going to be cut.
  23. What hook do you use to rig it? Gammy 5/0 EWG Superline
