  1. Thank again guys! Well I'm just about to hit the bed, but I wanted to give a quick update. I practiced today and found a really nice bite flipping a jig. That was what most other anglers were doing, but a few really got on them fishing hydrilla mats on the edge of Eufaula's deep ledges. I'm hoping to flip a jig all day and get a few quality bites to advance me to day 2 and to allow me to keep 1st place. I also got the opportunity to meet one of our members, NtroJack. He was extremely nice and had some really encouraging words. Bassresource is everywhere!!! Well, I gotta get some sleep. Thanks again for the support, and an update will follow as soon as I get off the water. Hopefully the report will come from my hotel room that I needed for an extra night!!!
  2. I just posted this on the "Oil prices plunge" thread, but I just saw $5.12 today in Eufaula, Alabama and alot of places down here are out of regular and mid grade.
  3. 5.12!!!!!! I'm at Lake Eufaula in Alabama practicing for a tourny and I just saw $5.12 for regular!!!! Most of the stations in Eufaula our out of regular and mid grade. Freaking robbery
  4. I listen to music the entire day that I'm fishing. It really helps me stay in the "relaxed" zone that I fish best in. For some reason, when I need a fish, I listen to "Through the Fire and Flames" by Dragonforce and I will catch one. No lie.....this has worked for me on countless occasions.
  5. 2.74!! good lord, the cheapest we have is 3.48
  6. Dude! What an awesome vid! Looks like you had a great summer. BTW, that 3 person bike was sweet! ;D
  7. Madden 09 is good. Guitar Hero is always great and the new one is similar to Rock Band, so you can play with multiple people. NHL 09 comes out, and it's gonna whip tail. The demo was great. I am so excited to go buy it today. Have you ever played the GTA series? GTA 4 is wicked fun.
  8. LMB - Texas rigged BPS Finesse Craw on a 1/0 Gamakatsu and 1/16oz weight SMB - Texas rigged tube with a 1/8oz weight
  9. With the price of oil continuing to drop, why did all our area gas stations have a 10 cent spike yesterday afternoon? I work at a gas station, and yesterday morning we dropped from 3.51 to 3.49, then at around 7 last night, we got the call to go to 3.59 as did QT which is the cheapest gas in the area. Whats the deal?
  10. Dave, it's called the S-Curver swimbait. Michael, from Specimen Gear, sent me one to try out a few months back. The bait is incredible and swims so perfect. There extremely cheap for a swimbait and the ruin the fish! The paint job is donkey and you can throw it on a MH rod as long as you use heavy line. Check them out on his website..... http://www.specimengear.com/
  11. Wow. I can't believe I missed this post. Thanks alot guys. The support means alot. Thanks Zellamander for starting this.
  12. Speechless!! That is so so cool. Your gonna remember that trip for the rest of your life.
  13. Lol. That's great!
  14. I'm kinda stuck in the middle of this one. As far as which company to support based on morals and originality then it would be the Tru-Tungsten because ol' Mr. Siemantal's designs are NOT original. I think the BBZ-1 shad looks better, but the Tru-Tungstens are more versatile.
  15. Lol. You are so right! You could catch twice as many. In fact...you probably will catch 10 times as many!!!!! But.....the one you catch on the Tru-Tungsten Swimbait can eat all the little fishies you catch on your Rapalas and Lucky Crafts On topic though, it's gonna be hard to find that 49.99 price. I know a number of local tackle shops around my crib sell them at that price, but other than that, TW is the only one I know of. Good luck to you.
  16. How bout a Mac?
  17. If all my tackle was gone and I had $75, my main thing would be to keep it simple. I would get some Trick Sticks in the 5" size from *** in any Natural color like Watermelonseed or Watermelon/Purple Swirl Then a straight tailed 7" worm like the Zoom Trick worm or the *** Finesse worm. Again, in natural colors. My favorite color is watermelon/green or watermelon/gold Then I would pick up a few walk the dog type baits like the Super Spook Jr. or the Sammy 100 A few Picasso F6 spinnerbaits would be next in line. I like Chart/White in any water clarity...for some reason, it always works for me, even in gin clear water And lastly I would get swimbaits. The Storm Kick N' Minnow is an excellent budget swimbait that is used by Bassresource's big fish maniac, Randall. If your feeling like you wanna beat up your wallet a bit more, then get one of Spro's new BBZ-1 Shad or Tru-Tungsten's new Tru-Life Shad. If there was any left over I would probably pick up a Propel in the Berry flavor, and a ton of those mini chocolate doughnuts. God I love those things ;D Thanks for starting this thread. There alot of fun.
  18. Lol. What made you think I was gonna be in Athens? I'm gonnna be in Clarkston....an area where there's more fried chicken places than gas stations.
  19. Glenn, tomorrow I'm purchasing my Laptop for college. Would a LoJack be something that is worth purchasing? I'm going to school in a pretty "rough" area and I'm gonna stick out like a sore thumb with my blonde hair and preppy clothing.
  20. WAY TO COOL GLENN!!! What an amazing experience. What is it like talking with Mike? Does fishing dominate all the conversations, or does he get sick of it sometimes? Exactly how much knowledge did you gather with 2 FULL HOURS of conversation with an angler of Iaconelli's status?
  21. My two big fish producers year round are always a 5/16oz jig that is custom made for me by Gman and a Diamond Dust Rat-L-Trap 1/2oz For some reason those two baits seem to consistently catch big fish for me.
  22. LOL. I can't believe I didn't see that coming
  23. Right now it's pouring at my house and has been since mid day yesterday. The rain is supposed to go all day and some into the night. Laniers just up the road, so I know it's getting a decent soak. We needed this rain so bad. On last check, Lanier was over 18ft down. Hopefully Gustav will bring us some more!
