  1. Thanks for the info fellas, I got 2 Curado's on the way!!!
  2. Well I'm making a trip to academy later to get another reel. I have been using a shimano citica 200e. I'm thinking about maybe getting a Curado 200e7 this time. My question is, is it really worth the extra $60 over the citica? I've tried to compare the reels online and can't really find much other than the shimano comparison on the site. So if any of you have used both, is it really worth the extra cash? Thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't even notice that.
  4. I hate making decisions lol. Have any of you know about the Garmin 160C? It's on sale at wally world for $164. Looks cool with the color display.
  5. Hey fellas, I'm looking for reccomendations on a good depth finder. It will be going on my 14' project jon boat. I really don't need anything fancy, and I've got around $200 to spend on one. just wandering what you fellas would reccomend.
  6. I have every one of those h2o xpress swimbaits. They look/perform great right out of the box. I also use their cranks and very very pleased with them. The monkey got me last night at academy as well lol.
  7. Thanks for all the helpful info fellas. I ended up getting a leatherman wave to carry with me for my bank fishing and I also bought a H2O xpress tool kit from academy for the boat. It has lots of goodies like needle nose pliers, scissors, and a small multi-tool.
  8. I'm not sure this is posted in the right place but I'm in a debate about something. I have been keeping a cheap pair of pliers in my tackle bag for some time now. Well they've broken and it's time for something new. I was wandering if any of you use or have used the leatherman multi-tools? I've looked at several and they seem to be made well but kind of pricey. Just wanted some opinions on them before I drop the dime on a set. Thanks.
  9. Not sure on the sizes of those 2 but I had a similar issue with finding some large enough to fit my face. I ended up getting the man-o-war's. They fit very nicely and have removable side shields that are pretty handy.
  10. H2O xpress is academy sports' "house brand". I have several of them and really like them. Good colors, sizes, and every one I have purchased has run true out of the box. They also come with VMC hooks. In my honest opinion, they're the best "house brand" baits I've used. Well worth the $3-$4 each. You can purchase them from academy and sometimes on ebay. Hope this helps.
  11. Just wandering if any of you fellas have used them. If so, how well do they hold up? Looks like they have a good bit of room in them. http://www.planomolding.com/tackle/products.asp
  12. Another costa user here. I have the man-o-war's with the removable side shields and the blue glass 400 lenses and I wouldn't trade em for anything.
  13. Just picked up an Abu-Garcia Cardinal 200 series. Pretty reasonable and smooth. May want to look into the cardinals.
  14. Hey fellas, I recently picked up a new Shimano Curado from a friend of mine. My question is, what would be a good rod to mount this thing on? I will mostly be throwing senko's, top water lures, swimbaits, and creature baits with this. I've been confused on whether to get a MH fast action, or a M fast action. Would like to keep it in the 6'6 range. All help is greatly appreciated.
  15. $49 for a new Citica E??? I'd go back and buy every one they had. That is absolutely insane and the shop is definitely taking a big loss... Even at $119.99 it's a great deal for that reel. Yup only paid $49 for the new citica E. It was a 1 hour doorbuster sale the guy was doing and only 3 we're sold at that price. I got the 3rd one or I would have bought all 3 of them. The AllStar rods we're also on sale and I picked up the rod for $40, so I don't think I got hurt spending $90 on the whole combo lol. I think I got pretty lucky.
  16. Thanks guys. I picked up the citica 200e for only $49 brand new on sale at a local shop. I think I may pick up a medium action rod to try it out with the reel also and see which one I like most. Now I'm trying to decide on which line to use also lol.
  17. My home lake is Lake Bowen. I've fished it since I was a little kid and still fish there often. Thanks guys.
  18. I do fish Lake Wylie a decent bit. Every weekend during the summer. Very nice lake.
  19. Hey guys. I recently started bass fishing a couple of years ago and i'm far behind in what products are out now for bass fishing. I came from crappie, bream, and catfishing. I purchased a Shimano Citica 200e the other day and bought an allstar graphite classic rod MH/FA 6'6. Was the Citica a good choice for a reel? I have little experience with a baitcaster. What are you guys thoughts about getting the MH rod? I think i should have went with a medium. I will mostly be fishing with rubber worms, lizards, spinnerbaits etc...
