Depthfinder Install Tips
After hours of tracing wires in the boat today and some help from another guy, it turns out that my boat came with a pre-installed wiring harness that is already fused for a depthfinder up front. There's 2 crimped exposed wires in the pic that are up on the front deck which sits in front of a small storage space. I plan to pull the wires into the storage space and connect the power inside there. That's where the remaining transducer wires will be bundled as well, for a cleaner install. Wayne, do you think it will be ok to install the noise filter in there? Would rather not splice it into the rear of the boat near the fuse block.

Depthfinder Install Tips
Hey everybody, I picked up a Lowrance Elite 4x DSI the other day to put on the bow of my tin boat. Went to install it today (until the rain came in). Went and bought an inline fuse block with a 3A fuse to install after the inline noise filter (per the instructions). I want to extend the wires about 10-12" past the inline noise filter. The Install guide says it recommends 18 gauge wire if extensions are needed so I guess that's what I'll use. Does anybody have any tips I should keep in mind while doing this install? Will it be better to crimp the connections for the extensions/fuse block or solder the connections? It will probably be ran to a small 12V, 8AH (kayak style) battery inside of one of my front rope compartments due to me needing to possibly remove it all soon to upgrade rigs. I'm not hardly electrically skilled at all lol. Any and all help is appreciated in advance. BTW the included power wires are TINY!! Does anybody know what size they are?

Crankbait Recommendations
All of those are good baits. Another good set is the H2O cranks. Well worth the money.

Finally Got One!
Thanks everybody. They've been pretty rare around here Hootie. This is actually the first one I've seen around these parts. Not sure what's going on with the shortage. Hopefully people will start seeing more of them soon (especially the ones that have been on order). Diggy, not sure on the lefties.

jbsoonerfan, I'm glad you fixed it. That's much better now lol. Mike, hopefully your's will come in soon. My brother luckily ran accross this one and he had no idea what it was. Jonny, hopefully that ice will melt away fast and you can hit the water as well. Not to rub it in but water temps today ranged from 62-65 degrees. It's time my friends, it's time!!

Thanks! Possibly going on a Dobyn's 735C and used for either jigs or flipping. Still not 100% sure yet.

Think I'm gonna sit down with the Chief and Capt this week and try some negotiations to see if they'll go ahead and approve my time off. If they approve it, I'll have to find someone to split some lodging with as well.

Reel Grip
I bought a pair a few years ago, used them for a day and then took em off. Just didn't feel right to me. I prefer non textured grips as well but that's just me.

H2O Xpress Hooks?
I've used em a good bit. Pretty sharp and strong. Can't go wrong with them for the price IMO.

Any Interest In T Shirts?

I'm still a possibility. Only issue I'm having is I'm unsure if I'll be off work. I've put in for the time off but won't know if it's approved for a while. My employer won't even look at it until 2 weeks before the requested dates.

H2O Express Mettle/squarebill Question
Love the original Mettles I have. Their squarebills are well worth the money as well. Good finishes, run true, and decent hooks.
