  4. Welcome!
  5. I know that some of the larger smallmouth bass have been caught in Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina. Georgia's smallmouth record is the same as my state, Missouri, at 7 lbs 2 oz. I see you are south of Atlanta and I don't know if the range stretches that far. Maybe some of the Southern smallmouth anglers can answer your question.
  6. Welcome to the forum, and welcome back to bass fishing, Mort!
  7. He is talking about Yum Crawbugs. You go through the end of the tail with the hook, bring it out the bottom about an 1/8th to a 1/4 inch in depending on the size of Crawbug you're using, and then run it back through the bottom of the head between the eyes. You can skin hook it on the back of the crawbug to make it more weedless. The sinker size depends on the depth you are fishing at and the wind speed, just like any other t-rigged bait. I fish them like any other texas rigged baits which means you have a few different choices. I've had the most success with tiny hops and crawling the bait on the bottom. The baits are hollow so the claws float up when you move the bait.
  8. That's not so bad. Great play on words!

  14. The tip is softer than advertised. Their extra-fast is not extra-fast in my book but that's a good thing. The tip flexes just the way I want it too with soft plastics.
  15. I don't have these two spinning rods but I have four other Powell models. Their medium-heavy rating works great with weightless plastics.
  16. Last night Greinke pitched another complete game and shutout the White Sox. He is now 6 and 0, with a 0.40 ERA, 54 strikeouts, three complete games pitched, and he has the only two complete game shutouts this year in the American League. That's a heck of a start to the season. I don't know how he can keep this up.

  20. Good point! Maybe Glenn should incorporate a pop-up when the site is initially accessed to direct people to use the search function. I'm sure that would go over well.
