Good day at Varner with a new bass fishermen
Randall, I'm starting to think that when the eggs hatch at Varner the fry already weigh 3 lbs. Three days in a row over 25 lbs is slaying 'em.

2009 The Pennants are flying and the Trash is almost in view!
I'm a big Cardinal fan but, for me, I think the jury is still out on this one. We've had to use our bullpen a great deal and they're not always going to be able to carry us for three or four innings. I hope you're right though. Pujols is looking as good as ever.

Question for you wine drinkers
I think Glenn has pointed you in the right direction with Rieslings. My wife is not big on drier wines so I turned her on to this stuff and she loves it. Of course, when we go out for a really nice meal we will drink the recommended type of complementary wine. I recommend Columbia Winery Cellarmaster Riesling at $12.00 a bottle. It is as good or better than some 20 dollar Rieslings and it's made in the state of Washington.

Aquatic Furbearers...Nusiance or Necessary?
The owner of a pond I fish is always trying to shoot the muskrats to decrease the damage they do to his dam. I'm going to give him the link to this article. It doesn't sound like shooting is the best method to achieve his goals.

Rod Length vs Sensitivity
Your point makes sense but there is another factor affecting sensitivity and that is the amount of material the vibration must travel through. Another question is how do you measure the amount of material the vibrations travels through and where does the vibration begin on the rod? The fish sends the vibration up the line which then touches the rod at each line guide. Is there a vibration created at each line guide? Interesting thread. I have lots of questions but no answers.

Hows Evertone Done So Far This Year. Heres Two I Caught Just Yesterday.
Nice fish! Hawk is correct. It's all a learning process. I would bet everyone of us has a fish or two or three that we haven't handled properly at some point but we improve, right?

Pre-spawn Spawn
Ole Catt plays it well! You make excellent points about the relative importance of stable temperatures and the differences in depths between lakes.
