  1. My question is what size Scrounger head and what size Magic Shad? (and your favorite color?) i use 1/8,1/4,3/8 and 1/2oz depending on what depth i'm fsihing i like magic shad and barfish color (because of the chartruese)...and watermelon/red some
  2. Lake Fork Live Magic Shad X2 it is one of my go to baits....it seems to produce in all situations for me.
  3. well....i think i need to backtrack on my earlier comment on the flash mob jr. i made a general comment based on the heavy/large a-rig. which i have no interest in throwing. i went to my local walmart and checked out the flash mob jr. as RW and others have commented...it is a light weight rig that looks like it can be thrown on regular gear without the "workout". so.....of course i picked one up....lol!! and..it conforms to my regulations here in IN..with 3 hooks. i'll just put a blade on one for the Roadtrip. anyway...i just thought i'd retract my original reaction.....and thank RW for the update and fishing report from Pickwick. cannot wait to get down there and have a great time catching fish and meeting everyone....
  4. Man, I hope the A-rig bite is done when we get there. My conclusion is; if I had to throw one those things all the time to catch fish, I'd probably give up fishing, and go back to playing golf. X2 i couldn't agree more. too much like work and not my idea of fishing at all.
  5. at this time in 2 weeks.....i'll be on the road.. with a freakin smile that the other people on the road will wonder "what the heck is he so happy about?" i agree ProCrafter... i can't wait for the first time i say "there's one!" there just happens to be a BassPro on my way..... is there any "MUST HAVE" baits i should make sure i have? also, if anyone needs me to pick anything up for them...let me know.....i'll be glad to....
  6. i use the 3.5" myself. never tried the 4.5" they just seem too big for my lakes... but then again i've caught 8" bass on a 5" senko..
  7. it depends on the companies and how long they take, particularly her company. since she plead guilty, i would take that paperwork to your company so they have that to use against her and her company. your company should contact them within a day or two. then you are at the mercy of her company. her company could drag its feet for a month or two. but if you stay in touch with your claims person and they keep making follow up calls to the other company, it will speed things up. not to mention, your company should get their money from them for what your repairs cost your company to pay to fix yours. make sense?
  8. 1st choice Yozuri hybrid ultra soft. 6lb (11lb break point) 2nd choice 20lb Power Pro. with or without a leader most decent spinning reels come with a spare spool.
  9. try a Lake Fork Live Magic Shad on one....and hold on!! i like mine with no skirt (i like saying that) it is one of my go to baits.
  10. my wife even has said that i'm more excited..... guess she knows me too well.... lol!!
  11. thanks guys... i'll gladly pay for them...no problem.. is it bad if i'm more excited about this trip....(meeting a bunch of men i have never met) than i was about the last trip i took with my wife??
  12. I've finally decided on what to do. I want to run a little contest with everyone thats going on the Road Trip. So here is the details. Contest will be May 2,3,4th Who ever catches the biggest fish on one of my lures will win $25 worth of jigs or spinnerbaits. The rules are simple and we are going by the honor system because I want all the fish released as soon as possible and unharmed. Fish Smallmouth or Largemouth only Please take a picture of the fish with the lure in its mouth and another picture of the weight of the fish on a scale to where I can see the weight of the fish. I want this to be fun and see what kinds of fish are caught. I need some new pictures for my website and all pictures will be put up on my webpage. sounds good. one problem.... i'm probably the only one who doesn't have any of your jigs.. being a non boater, fishing from the bank isn't very friendly to fishing a jig, and fishing in the back of a boat with guys who fish 100mph it's impossible to fish one. i'll gladly purchase some once i get there so i can participate... and...maybe you can pick 4 or 5 that you would recommend (and we'll keep that part a secret)
  13. i also up for some swapping of baits....seems like a good idea... of course i have much more than i need....but when i look at it i think "one of these days i'm gonna need this" LOL!! one month from today i'll/we'll be fishing on PICKWICK!!! and the next day....and the next day!!
  14. my favorite plastic for dark/stained water is a Zoom Speed Craw in Junebug. i also have a lot of luck at night with it. i primarily fish it with a slow retrieve on the bottom on swim it back. i've had the most luck slowly swimming it. those big claws create a lot of disturbance. as for cranks....chartruese/black has worked the best a single colorado blade spinnerbait in black produces for me too
  15. thanks for the replies... i'll be in a room at the inn...not in a cabin...so I'll have to hit someplace for breakfast before we head out and pack a lunch. sounds like there is a place to get whats needed. i'm all in on the hardcore fishing.... i definitely want to maximize every hour possible! 30 days and i'll be on the road at this time!! woo hoo!!!
  16. speaking of food.... ok...... noone was speaking of food. for you Roadtrip veterans. what do you do for breakfast and lunch/food out on the water? is there a place to eat before we head out in the morning? and a store to buy lunchmeat, etc?
  17. thanks rhino....i'll gladly follow in those footsteps... looking forward to it....
  18. i picked up the mini mop...i put a yamamoto flappin' hog on...it looks awesome....its been too cold here...but hopefully next weekend i'll get to try it out.
  19. i'd like to fish with you rhino on one of those days......if that works... thanks for the offer......
  20. i'll be there for the wed evening festivities and will be glad to pitch in with a donation that night and every night. this will be my 1st trip. very much looking forward to the fishing and meeting all of you. it is fun to read the bantor/trash talk that goes back and forth between all of you that is the result of past roadtrips. i hope to be able to dish out some and of course absorb my share in the future. lol! question.... being my 1st trip. i'm confused (which is easy for me). i see some of you are pairing up to fish......and i can understand that since you have met from past trips and don't get to see eachother except for the roadtrip, it is good to be able to spend that time with an "old friend". i'm a non-boater. should i be looking to get paired up? or will that all be taken care of once we get there. i see the "schedule of events" say blind draw?? thanks...and i can't wait......
  21. i also use it on ALL lines. it simply works. i put some on as i spool and again either the night before or the 1st thing in the morning right after i start my cofee before i head out IMO KVD L&L is just as an important part of my set ups as choosing what line and/or bait to use...
  22. thanks guys.. i've never fished a hair jig before. but thought i'd give it a try. (and i picked them up to use at Pickwick on the Roadtrip ??) i hadn't planned on using a trailer thinking it would interfere with the natural action. it sounds like i shouldn't dip the hair in JJ's, so i'm glad i asked. i do like the idea of using just a small section of a finesse worm that is either already scented or use a Zoom finesse worm and dip it in clear JJ's. or..i may try the Megastrike on just the tips... or...since it is 20 degrees here today and the forecast for Sunday is Hi of 34 and 70% chance of rain. i may have to find out how i do using a hair jig on another day... LOL!!
  23. i'm fishing in our 1st tourney this weekend....it gonna be still cold here...predicting 40 and rain...after its been in he 30's all week... UGH!! i'm thinking of using a Punisher hair jig for a change of pace... can i use JJ's with a hair jig?? thanks...
