I know y'all are tired of LSU football but last night I watched a replay of the game with my youngest son. The Earthquake Game is the name given to a famous college football game played in front of a crowd of 79,431 at Louisiana State University's Tiger Stadium on October 8, 1988. The game pitted Southeastern Conference rival Auburn Tigers against LSU and was one of the more notable games in the Auburn LSU rivalry. Along with national rankings, at stake was the eventual SEC title. The stadium was filled to capacity and the game was being broadcast on ESPN. Auburn led the game 6-0 with less than two minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. LSU's quarterback Tommy Hodson drove the team down the field before finally throwing a last chance 4th down touchdown pass to Eddie Fuller. The reaction of the crowd registered as an earthquake on the seismograph located in LSU's Howe-Russell Geoscience Complex around 1,000 feet (305 m) from the stadium. Surprised Fans, Stunned Geologists When LSU fans learned that their reaction registered on a seismograph, they were pleasantly surprised. But LSU geologists were downright stunned. According to LSU geology professor Jeffrey Nunn, it was probably the jumping that did it. A seismograph measures ground motion, so the jumping up and down would be more likely, Nunn said. A cheering crowd would cause a sound wave in the air. For a sound wave to register on a seismograph, the air has to actually make the ground move. He paused. That does happen with sonic booms, so I guess a crowd could cheer loudly enough ...

The distance a bass will travel to spawn is unknown by man but bass like the two Matt mentioned have traveled 17 & 22 miles respectively. Some bass on Toledo Bend's were hatched on main lake structure, spawn on main lake structure, and live their entire life never having seen a shoreline. At some points Toledo Bend is 5 miles wide so why would a bass not travel to the shore is an unknown since it is apparent they are capable. I was at Toledo Tackle when the second bass was weighed in at 12 pounds & change

An automatic will out pull a standard because it knows better when or when not to shift. When pulling up a steep ramp with an auto as with the standard drop it down into low and ease on the gas. Disc brakes on all 4 wheels will help stopping but your problem will be your boat out weighing your tow vehicle and thus pushing it on emergency stops. Matt Fly pulls an 18' BassCat with a Dodge Durango with little to no problems.

Triton boats are notorious for chine walking and a wet ride Skeeter & Champion boats are probably the best rough water ride out there; they both rule Toledo Bend which is known for rough water. One more consideration is how tough the hulls are and Skeeter is rock solid, so are Bass Cat's. I have 5 friends who own either boat dealerships or outboard shops and they all have more Merc's in the yard than Yamaha's. Like Brain I'm also looking closely at the Xpress boats, they handle rough water very well and despite what other say they are not prone to being blown around by the wind. I don't plan on buying any thing with over a 150HP, don't plan on doing the tournament trail thing cause I've been there and don that, I will fish some open tournaments.

Ok first is it a fiberglass or aluminum boat; major difference in weight here Pulling a boat with a small tow vehicle is not going to be your problem, stopping it will be. Forget what you've heard an automatic will out pull a standard every time.
