Upgrading My Gear
If the Curado feels good in your hands then that's the answer, you must be comfortable; I like Calcutta because a round reel feels natural in my hands where a low profile does not.

Upgrading My Gear
I personally do not believe there is not a more rock solid reel made than a Calcutta But if your concern is the line capacity of either the Calcutta or Curado100 series reel I can tell you I've never seen a bass spool a reel.

Upgrading My Gear
First off welcome to the best bass web site on the net I fish Shimano Calcutta 100A's which hold 100 yards of 14 pound test line and I have never had a bass come any where close to taking all the line off; even with my Calcutta 50 which hold considerable less line I've never been spooled by a bass.

jumping bass
My first choice would either a bone or clear colored Pop-R or Tiny Torpedo, a Rocket Shad spinner bait would also be a good choice.

Miracle on the bend!
I do target big fish structure but there are small fish still present, if I had been in control of the boat I would have approached the windy condition but I was happy just to be out. While Charlie was upset about his motor breaking down I on the other hand was glad it broke where it did because it could have very easily waited until we were on my big fish spots which would have resulted in us possibly spending the night stuck in high winds on the main lake.

Niksfishin' mom exposed !!!!!!!
I don't know avid all your pictures are kind of out of focus so we really can't tell if it's the same fish or not. Then there's that mug that keeps our focus off the bass, at least she better looking and her pictures are in focus.

MinnKota vs. Motorguide.
Food for thought If you plan to attach a transducer for a depth finder the Minn Kota's skeg will protect the transducer, the Motor Guides skeg will not.

Jig weight
Bank shallow out to 15' 3/8 oz & 15' deep plus or heavy vegetation 1/2 oz
-
buzz bait and rod question
6' medium heavy with a short handle; I like to move in close & make medium length cast over some type of vegetation or run it into logs/stumps.

Miracle on the bend!
Friday morning I met up with one of my ole tournament buddies who I hadn't fished with since 1978. We spent the morning hauling limbs, raking leaves, burning them & until around 3:00. Around 4:30 we decided it was to hot to fishing but we could take a boat ride so Charlie could get acquainted with the boat lane from the camp to we I wanted to fish. So we headed out from Little Lowe's Creek, we made it to the mouth of 6-mile some 1 1/2 from the camp when the lower unit went out. We were lucky to see another boat heading into 6-mile so we flagged the do and they agreed to tow us back to the camp. Once back at the camp and call Charlie's nephew Brandon who owns the camp but lives over on big Lowe's Creek. Brandon said no problem we could fish with him since his girl friend couldn't make it. Well after about 45 minutes we were at Brandon's house every thing loaded in his Tr21 Triton when the wind kicks up. To say the wind kicked up is putting it mildly because it was 15-20 mph straight out of the south and gusting. Here's a little history note about our years of experience fishing Toledo Bend; Charlie: 39 years, Tommy: 35 years, & Brandon: 30 years. So that's 104 combined years experience of fishing this lake in every conceivable condition. I'm making this note to say between the 3 of us we could only manage 3 under size bass on Carolina Rigs in 4 ½ hours. Here's the Miracle for the first time in 12+ years the Catt was skunked :-[

What does Finesse Fishing mean to you?
To some it has came to mean small lures & light line but here's my answer The skillfulness, cleverness, or resourcefulness in handling situations delicately & with precision.

Telephone Troubleshooting
That's the reason I use Ma Bell, one call and they have to fix it Other companies are fine but they don't have directory assistance, they don't have operators, & you have trouble getting them to fix problems. Even after hurricane Rita we had phone service in most areas & they were the first back on line once the poles were back up.

I agree with getting the biggest you can afford; unless I'm changing areas I rarely let it on continually.
