  1. My point is the biologist didn't show up. A phone call was made to the guy, who gets paid from the sales of hunting/fishing licenses, and instead of taking a hour out of his day to collect the samples, he told them they needed to bring the fish to him. That's bs. Maybe in PA your wildlife officers/employees work hard. Here in TN you have some that go above and beyond, and others that do just enough to get by. I'm gonna have to side with the latter on this biologists work ethic.
  2. Depends on the unit and what not. Check around in the town you're going to college in and see if there are any that are big enough to store a boat. You should be able to find one but you'd better take a look at it to make sure you can maneuver around the lot. There should be at least one business there that can accomodate boats. But you never know. Also check marina's near by.
  3. I believe there was a TWRA officer and a park ranger there to verify the weight. The reason it's unofficial is the biologist wouldn't get off his *** to do his job. In my eyes, that's the new TN state record.
  4. What the bank will allow you to loan on a boat is dependent on it's age, book values, your credit score etc. On a boat that is 10-15 years old they aren't going to give you much, but 2-4K is a good guess. A boat that old you would be better off paying cash for it, imo, in case something goes wrong with the motor, hull, electronics, etc. That way you would have the cash you saved up to use instead of having to use it to make a payment on a boat that you can't use. Insurance would be dependent on if it's paid for or you have loan on it, age, tackle, etc. This is what I pay for the insurance on the two boats I have. 2004 Blazer 190 Pro V/200 hp- 330/year 2000 Lowe Roughneck 17'/50 hp- 120/year Edit: I need to clarify on what I think the bank would loan you. It's going to depend on the factors like I said but you can get more if the boat is 10 yrs old compared to 15. I also think my 2-4K is not exactly right. It will depend on the book value of the brand as well as the bank. Fortunately for me, my bank has done two different loans for me without any problems.
  5. The water wasn't up at all. It was barely over winter pool at the time. That ship runs up and down the TN river all the time. I've seen it on 3 different occasions during the past two summers. The captain took the ship under the wrong span of bridge. The ship's owner is saying it's due to the lights on the bridge not working (which they weren't), but that's not an excuse considering that ship has better chart plotting equipment than any bass boat.
  6. Nice fish CJ. I've been doing pretty good from Paris on south.
  7. There are two on gunbroker.com listed with buy it now prices at 625 and 750. Personally if I wanted that gun I would start out offering between 400-550 depending on condition since he's open for offers.
  8. They tend to do that when it's 60 degrees and no wind. Makes it tough.
  9. Very few birds this weekend. It didn't help that the fog didn't lift until 10:30 Saturday either. Managed a widgeon and greenhead.
  10. Well at least I know I have you beat on the greenheads lol. The gadwalls haven't shown up here like they usually do. I keep telling myself I'm going fishing instead of chasing ducks all over KY lake but it doesn't happen. We had a little front come through yesterday and today so maybe we have a few new ducks tomorrow. The only reason we killed some last weekend was a draw hunt on a WMA in west TN. They had some birds over there but there hasn't been much action on KY lake or the other WMA's I hunt.
  11. Lucky lucky lucky. I wish we could get some ducks here in the TN. Besides last weekend it has been slow here. We managed 35 over two days. Mostly greenheads a few pintails and gadwalls a widgeon and four hollywoods. Are you mainly shooting teal?
  12. I have a coupon for this that expires 1/3/12. First person to PM me will get the code. Thanks
  13. I would do the same thing as bluebasser said except that I wouldn't buy it from basspro. I just bought a bow the other day from a local archery shop that's a package deal ready to hunt for $100 less than basspro. I got everything bps had with it along with a release, case, and half a dozen arrows. Total package cost me $440. If I bought the same thing at bps it would have been $550+.
  14. Haha, I was thinking the same thing. Alot of people do that with hogs. As far as using a bow you can and not have a problem. Just a little less room for error when making the shot.
  15. Recoil won't matter when he sees the horns.
  16. The field I hunted opening day had a little over 350 in about 3 hours of shooting. It wasn't quite as much action as last year but still not too bad. We were able to get 4 geese that morning, one with a band. Should of had more, but waiting till the last minute to get everything ready left me with the wrong shells. Looking forward to wood ducks Saturday morning.
  17. LSU has a chance now. Just got to get Miles to see that Lee is not the one that needs to be under center.
  18. Catt, I like watching LSU football, and you are dead on with your assessment of everything. The problem still is Jefferson can't throw the football good enough to consistently win games in the SEC. Sure he can run, but in the two whole games I watched last year (UT and ARK) and parts of others, it becomes easy to shut an offense down when every play is some sort of a run. I think if Miles will play that Mettenberger kid LSU has a real good chance of making it to that nat'l championship game. If not, I don't think they will get past bama. Might not get past Oregon.
  19. I had a big spill written up but decided to just leave it as this. Catt, LSU has no shot in hell of winning a national championship with him as QB every game, every play. Lynyrdsky1, Jefferson is no where near as good as Russell was in college.
  20. If Jefferson is their QB for the year they have no shot at championship.
  21. You need to go into the office to set it up. I work for an electric utility in Clarksville. We do charge a $150 deposit IF your credit check is horrible. I think you're in Chatt. so I would assume it would be the same, maybe the deposit is higher but you should still be able to do a credit check. Sometimes the customer service reps don't know everything they should. That person could have been new as well. The previous tenant could have a bad debt. Your previous landlord could have a bad debt. Different factors come into play when you are setting up service.

Same thing for me as well. Took my first dove, quail, duck, and deer with it. Got it right before dove season when I was 8.
  23. The price will be about $440 after taxes. Just wanting to shoot something different for doves and duck hunt with a little.
