Kentucky Lake trip Friday March, 18th
Water temp on Sunday was 49. If we can keep from getting these continous fronts it should warm up above 50 degrees by the time you come down. It was rougher than I thought it was going to be so I didn't venture out of marina that day. Caught one solid keeper on a jig, three more bites but missed them all, and one short fish on a crankbait. I haven't had a whiff on anything else yet. After this weekend I should be able to give a little better report.

You're Invited to the 6th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
It was out of Mason's boat dock in Big Richland Creek. I think most of the fish caught in that tournament came from the New Johnsonville area. The tournament was the TN River Trail. There was a fish over 12 lb. caught last Sept. or Aug. It came from around the Richland Creek area. There are a lot of really big fish that have been caught the past few years, I wouldn't be surprised to see a true giant this year.

Just to let you all know there were three fish over 10 pounds caught, all in the same tournament, this past Saturday. The biggest went a little over 11. Speed, there is a ton of wood on Barkley, but like you said it depends on how much rain we get on if it's worth fishing. A lot of solid fish are caught here early in the year. Lund, there's plenty of places to trailer to if the wind happens to blow hard out of the north or south. Plenty of boat ramps within reasonable driving distance on both lakes to find better protective water. It's pretty easy to figure out if you are gonna get beat to death or not.

1995 Javelin with 175 Johnson is it worth it?
my mistake, I was wrong. : It would have to be the 389. I thought there was a single console 400D, but it was the TE I was looking at. Lynyrdsky1, look it over really good before you make a decision. Sorry vapred. :-[

1995 Javelin with 175 Johnson is it worth it?
Yes and it should, that's why I'm thinking that is a 400D and underpowered. If it's a 389 then most likely it's got water in the boat/wood somewhere. My buddies 400te has a 175 on it and it pops right on up and that's 1500 lb hull, where as once we put water in the livewell of his 396 it would take forever to get up.

1995 Javelin with 175 Johnson is it worth it?
I assume you have a renegade 18 which is ~ 1200 lb. A 150 hp motor isn't going to have a problem getting that boat out of the water, or even a bout like a statros 285, that is ~1400 lb, up on plane. Looking at the pic of the boat he's asking about it looks to be a 400D. This boat is ~1600 lb, and rated for 225. If it is this model I can see why he needs the hydrofoil on.

1995 Javelin with 175 Johnson is it worth it?
Because it's an 18 ft boat. The fin is there to help the boat get on plane. This could be due to a number of reasons, the worst being waterlogged wood. My buddy had a 1990 396 with a 175 that had a hard time getting on plane with the livewells full, 2 ppl, gear and full tank of gas. We think it could be due to water in the boat/wood. He traded that in for a 400, kept the same motor and has no problems getting on plane now. You need to check it out really good especially around the transom. The fin could be on there due to if the owner took 3-4 ppl fishing at a time, and could be on there because he believed he needed it after reading the product description.

You got a picture of the boat? Where's it located at?
-
Which prop?
I would stick with the same aluminum prop that came with the motor.

What should I build next
You need to make me about a dozen mop jigs. ;D Seriously though, I'll hit you up next month with what I want so you can bring them down during the road trip.

Bass Pro Spring Classic Flyer?
Same for me - I have a 190 mile round-trip and there's not enough savings on anything I want in the sale flyer to pay for my gas and time. However, if you live close to a BPS, it would be worth a trip, there ARE some things on sale at pretty good prices including 20%/25% savings on baits and other stuff that might be worth a look. The BPS PQ and CL BC reels are at their usual sale prices. I "need" another CL but I think I will try to get price matching on a phone order. Hey Goose are you in east TN? There's a new BPS in sevierville. Is that the store you're talking about when you mention a 190 mile round trip drive?

If you could ask Bobby Lane one question
I have it if you want it. The flood did a number on that entire ledge. It wasn't as good as the year before.

You're Invited to the 6th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
If anyone is wanting a Falcon rod I need to know today, by 5:00 PM central time . If I get a PM next week I can't guarantee that I can get the order in. By the way, has anyone heard from Bassinsoldier? I'm going to call him today, but was just curious if anyone knows if he's here or over there.

You're Invited to the 6th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Glenn has allowed me to post an opportunity for roadtrip attendees to pick up a Falcon rod at a great price. This is through me, totally seperate from Bass Resource, and only for members attending the roadtrip. This will save on shipping and any problems that might arise. I will deliver the rods during the roadtrip. If anyone that is attending would like to purchase a Falcon rod, any model, at a very generous price please send me a PM by Friday, Feb. 4, 5:00 pm CST. I know it's short notice but I did not want to post this without permission. I also need to get the order sent in so I can deliver them at the roadtrip. Thanks Randal

Help Me Pprice My Boat
Price it as close to possible on NADA, and then get on searchtempest.com and search for the same boat as your's within a 300 mile radius. See the condition as other people's boat compared to your boat and what they are asking. Going off what you have said the condition to be, I would say you should be able to get $5000, so price accordingly.

When did it become wrong to win?
I played freshman basketball and we were routinely blown out. Not for our lack of conditioning (we probably would have been better at track and field), but because of coaching, or lack thereof. We were beat by over 90 points in three games. The one I remember the most was a 121-21 lashing. I was happy since I scored 11 points. ;D

Remington Model 700 CNBC Documentary
My dad has one in 25-06 that has misfired one time. Went to shoot a deer and nothing would happen. Put the safety on and handed it to him and when he went to take the safety off it shot. He bought it used and possibly the person who had it first might have tried to modify the trigger. I don't think they showed it in the story but a lot of these misfires could be due to people modifying the trigger.
