Thinking of ROTC for college?
Micro, it hasn't changed that much. They still do everything you just said, except I think they go to Lewis now. I had a 3 year scholarship and blew it. If you will get your grades up (above 3.2) before you graduate you have a very good chance of getting at least a partial scholarship to Austin Peay for ROTC. Your ACT score is high enough. I had a 3.5 GPA and I believe a ACT of 25 coming out of high school and that's what they offered me. You are also going to have the desire to finish that and the peace of mind that you have a good chance of being shipped off when you finish school. It's tough, if I were you I would go ahead and get in a routine to pass the PT test as soon as you get in school. You will have to pass it before the scholarship starts. Another good thing to do is start thinking really hard at what degree you want. Yea you have 2 years of core classes to do, but it will benefit you if you already know what you want to do. Some of those cores for some degrees here at APSU are requirements for certain degrees. I'm having to take other core classes that I have finished b/c when I started I didn't know what I wanted to do and now I'm having to retake some cores to fill the requirements for my degree.

Pelletized deer feed
Like it's been said apples are a golden ticket, along with peaches and pears. If you can find them for free is your best bet. An established mineral block will keep them coming back. If you can get that area established soon before the acorns start dropping heavily will be the best thing. Walmart has this stuff called deer cane. I used it two years ago in place of a mineral block and they used it. The only problem is you have to pour a gallon every month once they start using it because it doesn't leach into the ground like a salt block will. Acorn rage acorn mix also works really well. The problem with this is it's kind of expensive for the amount of product you get and they devour it over night. They make a few other problems that will last a little while longer. One is called 3 day harvest and the other is a peanut butter acorn thing you hang from a tree.

Pelletized deer feed
Ok, to tell you the truth, I don't know much about the actual deer feed. Now I do know of a man that has a high fence farm. I believe he does feed his deer something like that with corn. So I think that it should work. He has some really big deer. Depending on how much land you have would depend on how much money I would spend. I lease about 250 acres here in TN. I've put food plots out and if I wanted to do a special feed I wouldn't be worried about spending that money b/c of the amount of land I'm hunting. Now 30-70 acres I probably would just use the corn and a mineral block. When the rut starts you need to have the girls in that area, the big boys will be there in due time. I would also be more worried with starting the feed in Jan. or Feb. and continuing it through next Sept. I'm assuming you are wanting to do this for horn growth. It won't help after the horns get hard, and in a few weeks they will be off corn for awhile, if you have a good amount of acorns.

Do you use corn at all?

crankbait info needed
The spro little johns get through cover really well. I'm not sure what type of wobble the shallow runner( square bill) is, I would think pretty tight, but the med. diver has a wider wobble than what I think you are looking for. The lucky craft rc 2.5 comes through good as well and have a tight wobble.

Fisheries Career
Robby, it's TWRA, they don't do much work. You get a new truck every year, and get to piddle around most of the day. ;D Honestly though, I believe the guys at the hatcheries do quite a bit of work, but it's only with fish. A wildlife manager would be like working a WMA here, which I don't think you want to do. If you were to take one of those jobs that will get your foot in the door for a fisheries job when it comes open. I believe those are some of the hardest to get with TWRA.

Walleye and Saugar in TN?
There is sauger in the TN river. The only thing I can tell you is below dams in the winter is a good time. I catch some at the steam plant in Cumberland City. Other than that I really don't know where to start if I wasn't below a dam. Walleye I believe are there but not in as big of numbers as sauger.

Fisheries Career
Robbie, TWRA has a few openings right now. I'm not sure what part of the state they are for though. Most likely east TN. http://www.state.tn.us/twra/employment.html#wb1

Dove Hunting!!
You were hunting with 26 other people for doves? Yea, it was a private sunflower field. He spends quite a bit a money on getting it set up each year and only hunts it twice. The birds poured in every 10 minutes or so. You might see 4 or 5 and then there would be 80-100 working the field for the next 10 minutes, and it would just keep doing that the whole time. We quit shooting at 5 and by 5:20 there was close to a 1000 birds in the field.

Another Cheater Caught.
Exactly. Did you see in the article that the GW watched him for awhile and never seen him catch any fish really, but then at the weigh in he weighed an 8 and 9. The GW then went by his truck the next tournament and looked in and there was a cooler with an aerator running. They watched him right before the weigh in pull that cooler out, put it in his boat, and put the fish in the bag. How in the hell did no one ever see this?

Another Cheater Caught.
Sort of like the same thing that was going on here every Wednesday night. Some guy shows up out of nowhere with a 6 pounder stiff as board and looked like it was caught a couple days prior. They let it go and he wins the pot and big fish. The next week he brings 2 or 3 good fish in, all dead and looked like they did the week before, and was told he wouldn't be weighing them in. I don't think he had a raised a fuss about it. What would possess someone to "cheat" in a weekly tournament for a few hundred bucks? :-/

Bucoo good for jerkbaiting?
I would say that model would do just fine for jerkbaits. I have the 6'6" MH model and it is not good for jerkbaits. It just doesn't feel right. I believe the lowrider I use for jerkbaits is a 4 power fast action. The bucoo you are talking about has a m to mf action. You shouldn't have a problem working a jerkbait with it.

The yearly "don't buy books thread"
Looks like I'll save $80 on the three books I have to get. That bookrental.com takes me to textbooks.com. Is that what you were referring to or bookrenter.com?

Help determining motor age.
Best guess 1974 Mine as well, since it is a johnson I believe they usually put the year it was made in the serial number. That's how mine is. You can also take that serial number and put into google and it should pull up some info just to verify.

Polarized Shades
I have some Strike Kings. They are quite a bit less than $50 but are good for the money. I've bought costa's and solar bats and lost all three pairs that's why I went with less expensive glasses.

Cheater at the US Open
Exactly, Robbie Rose didn't walk away with the boat (he was d**n close) and he was fined and spent time in jail. Hart admitted it and it was a $100,000 tournament. What place he was in doesn't matter. Still cheated and still deserves a punishment at least to the extent of what Rose got.

Tritons Riding
U sure just low 60s?Cause we had a ranger fish n ski with big windows with more wind resistance and its hull wasnt really designed for speed as much as a full on bass boat and it had 150 horsepower and it could hit like 59 i think Yes, low to mid 60's w/ a gps verifying that not the speedo. Even though it is not one of the x series boats it's still a 200 on a heavy 20 foot boat. Now if you are running it with only one person, no gear, and half a tank of gas or less you might see upper 67-70 mph. But under normal fishing conditions with your gear, your partners gear, etc. It will be closer to 60-63 maybe 64. Well thats still pretty fast Of course, that's not slow by any means.
