  1. Went out last night for around an hour and got 3 fish. Two of them were dinks, but I did get one decent one that was 22" and going close to 6lbs. It was caught on a smoke with red and black flake YUM Dinger texas rigged flipping close to weedlines.
  2. By the way, if you dont already have a contour, here you go http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/spatialdatalibrary/pdf_maps/Inland_Lake_Maps/WEXFORD/CADILLAC_LAKE.PDF
  3. Haha just noticed this thread. I was up there last month. The bass bite wasnt really on, all I got there were Northern. I asked the baitshop what works well up there and he said blue and silver Rapala Husky Jerks work well in there, especially for smallies. There are also a shallower sandy area that drops off into really deep water over by the boat docks right off the highway I would throw a Countdown or a DT along that dropoff. Also there is a canal on the northwest side of the lake that connects it to Lake Mitchell. In that area, there is rocky shoreline that looks good for some crayfish imitation baits like Craw Papis. Other than that, I was only up there for a few days and dont know that lake well by any means. I am telling you what I was told up there along with stuff that I would use based off of past experiences of fishing similar areas. Hope this helps.
  4. I have been busy and gone one three out of state trips to Michigan, Iowa, and Wisconsin. A lot of quality fish have been caught. I will try to keep this as short as possible so I dont bore you all to death and make you spend half an hour going through this post. So without furtherado, here we go. These fish are from the tail end of April in Illinois 4lber 4.5lber 4lber 20" walleye from Lake Rathbun in Centerville, Iowa 17" crappie from farm pond Longear sunfish, cool looking fish, caught from Lake Bloomington spillway in Illinois Bass from pond in Normal, IL area on stankx stick 16" smallie from Wisconsin River on Baby torpedo 18" 3.5lb Smallmouth from Turtle Rainbow Flowage in Wisconsin on plastic lizard Bass from Whitney lake in Wisconsin in strike king jig with Berkley power beast trailer Chunky Northern on 4" storm swim bait 18.5", 3.5lb bass from Lake Minocqua on Zoom Horny Toad Pike from Lake Cadillac in Michigan in evening on Storm Thunderstick 16" bass from Berry Lake in Michigan
  5. Got out to a pond here in town and it turned out to be my best day ever for bass fishing. I have done better numberswise (I caught around 25 fish), but never with this much size. I got 4 fish 18" or above including a 21.5" beauty that built like a football and probly closing in on 6lbs. I also caught numerous fish in the 16-17" range as well and lost a real nice fish in a bush under the water that was probly 20" or more. Fish caught on Rattletraps, but I think with the warming water temperatures that chatterbaits and spinnerbaits are going to be the main option soon. Fish of the day
  6. Those are some real nice Smallmouth
  7. Haha ok, I dont get up there too often, but I did go up once last fall with some friends and had some pretty decent luck catching some smallies and rock bass out of the dupage river and a 15" crappie out of a subdivision pond in Naperville.
  8. Here are some highlights so far for me this year skinny, 19" 2.5lb 17" 2.5lb Really wish I would have gotten an official weight on this one because I think this might have been pushing past 7lbs considering its length and girth 23" long and 15" girth, 6.5-7lb Another View 18" 3lb 20.5" 5lb All fish have been caught on a variety of lipless cranks such as Bill Lewis Rattletraps, Cotton Cordells, and Yo-Zuri rattlebaits from shore focusing on on lumber and creek mouths entering ponds as well as dropoffs where the bass are staging before they head to their spawning beds.
  9. Those are some real nice pickeral there on the first page.
  10. I dont think that catfish are that unusual to catch on artificial baits. I can think of 5 right of the top of my head that I have gotten on artificials, Sliders, Lizards, ect.., and none of them were below 5lbs. I have had a number of unusual catches including a Paddlefish on a slider that I somehow snagged in the mouth, a mussel that clamped onto my line, a leach that somehow grabbed onto my DT-6, a 6lb common carp on a rattletrap, and a 6" bluegill on a 5" swim senko with a 4/0 hook. Cant think of anything else right off hand. ;D
  11. I used it for the first time yesterday and loved it. It casts really smooth and might be one of my favorite spinning reels I have before even catching a fish on it.
  12. Dang those are some sweet fish, I wish we had more of those up here in Illinois
  13. Weather isnt much better here in Illinois, not even 40 today, windy, and rainy. I really need to get back out and catch some more hawgs. 8-)
  14. Thanks for the welcomes everyone
