Crankbait setup advice
BPS Pro Qualifier stuck on a BPS Crankin Stick. I've caught a ridiculous amount of fish on this setup. My only complaint would be the size of the guides on the rod. They're a little big, but that's not enough to stop me from buying another one.

Rage Tail Craw
If you're a new jig fisherman, you could well have had fish on and not even realized it. There is definitely an art to using a jig. A lot of the time you won't even realize a fish has the jig in it's mouth. If it feels different, set the hook.

What is the best braided line...
I use 20 pound Power Pro on my spinning reels. Have no issues or complaints with it. For my uses, I put a fluoro leader on the end of it and toss a lure out.

Hit the window just right
From what I've seen, and I stress the word "I've," they seem to be doing fine. Mind you, I fish much further south than Snookalot does. I couldn't tell you what it's like up north. I was at BPS yesterday, they aren't even selling snook stamps right now. They're thinking snook may re-open later in the year or early next year. I agree that it stinks that you can't take any home right now. Snook have got to be one of the best eating fish around.

Confused about windless and windy
Some of my best days fishing have been on really windy days. The water gets mixed up, bait gets forced together. You can fish just off of those windblown banks and really have a spectacular day if you get on the fish. Boat positioning can be a big problem in serious wind. If you're in shallow water, either drop your Power Pole if you've got one, make a shallow water anchoring pole, or just drop the anchor over to position yourself properly. Otherwise, you can just stay on the trolling motor and constantly adjust.

Spro frog mod mod
Please post that info when you do. I've got a basically never used bronzeye jr. sitting here that takes on water like the titanic. Can't walk it at all. It gets so back heavy that you can just get the nose to lift out of the water. My bronzeye popper takes on a little, but it can still be walked. Kind of irritating that an eight and a half dollar bait doesn't function like it's supposed to.

Aquatic Plants Of South Florida
No problem. I was searching for a grass in my lake and ran across that. Figured somebody else would find it interesting.

Sizmic War Head Weight
Okeechobee rig. I think they designed that around the Sizmic Jungle Toad. I've used it a few times while working really heavy mats. Seems just as effective as a regular flipping setup to me.

What ever happened to Friday night fishing?
Thats understandable. I wish it was a little more regional as well. Every time I check it seems that theres bowhunting on. Bowhunting isn't nearly as popular down here as fishing is.

open ended hook hangers
I like those keepers posted in the second link. Now, do you think adding that would void a warranty on a rod or not?

Finesse fishing
Couldn't have said that any better. If you're specifically talking about lighter weight baits; yes, you can use a baitcaster. Just make sure you have a reel that is capable of tossing out lightweight lures. You'll need a rod to match it as well. If I plan on using anything under 1/8 oz, I'll switch to spinning though.

if you could....
I don't think I could ever narrow it down to one person. Roland Martin - Seems like a good guy. He's local, which means tons of local knowledge. Ike - Probably would just be a good time and a good BS session while fishing. Denny Brauer - I'd love to pick his brain on jig fishing for a while. Edwin Evers - Each time I see him on TV or on a video, he seems to do a lot of the same kind of fishing I enjoy. Seems like a genuinely nice guy as well. KVD - Obvious reasons. Who wouldn't want to fish with one of the best ever?

What ever happened to Friday night fishing?
Man, I miss watching all the fishing shows that come on the Outdoor Channel and Versus on Friday evenings. What the heck ever happened. I was hoping at least Versus would come back after the Stanley Cup playoffs, now all they have is the stinkin Tour De France. I can't even find any of the shows that the Outdoor Channel had anymore. For the love of God, bring back my Friday evening TV!!!

Boat Storage
It's not that I don't like them. I actually like mine a lot. The property value here is kept very high because of them. They have a lot of stuff they do for children. As a parent, I absolutely love that. They keep my front yard cut and looking fantastic. Which means I don't have to worry about it. It's just the darn boat issue that kills me. I had no problems with it when the house was built. I wasn't concerned one bit with it. Now that I want a second boat, it's just killing me.

Need some suggestions for a big trip
Central Florida, to Southern Florida. Great fishing all year round. Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head.

10th
I did it in MW. Had no urge to do it again in MW2. Sad part is that you actually get extra kits if you prestige in the new one. Oh well.

Aquatic Plants Of South Florida
Stumbled onto this link. Fairly detailed listing of the southern Florida aquatic vegetation. Includes floating, submerged, emergent, and shoreline grasses. http://myfwc.com/DOCS/FRESHWATER/FRESHWATER_AQUATICPLANTIDENTIFIER.PDF

Boat Storage
I'll have to check into that. Here's the catch. I've got three cars I keep in the driveway. We're not allowed to park on the street at all. I have parked on it in the past, and woken up in the morning with one of those nice little stickers informing me that they're ticked and will tow it next time. I know they do tow cars once in a while, etc etc. I've got some figuring out to do. Either a car has to go into the garage, or a boat. I wonder how much it would run me to extend the garage a few feet.....

Boat Storage
Yeah, it's murder. When I first moved up here it wasn't horrible. My boat is close to the marina where I launch, it's safe, etc etc. Not being able to prep it the night before is aggravating. The drive from here to Homestead isn't bad, but it sucks on fuel. Now that I find myself more and more enjoying freshwater, not being allowed to keep a boat at home just sucks. There are so many places that are super close that I can get to in minutes. Holiday park is around the corner. Lox is far closer than I ever realized. The Alley is relatively close as well. I'm planning on taking my Jon out to the Alley at some point in the future, not sure how not having a trailer is going to work for launching, but we'll see. As much as I enjoyed Lox, it's really starting to irk me that I can't keep a boat here. I found a fantastic deal on a Ranger Intracoastal that would satisfy my freshwater and I can still go work the flats for bonefish, snook, and permit. Even with a folding tongue, it would be a stretch to fit something in the garage.

Replacing an older rod...
So, my current lineup of rods is this. MH 7'6" X Fast Flipping/Large plastics MH 7'6" Mod Fast Flipping/Frogging/Large Plastics M 7'6" Cranking M 7'2" X Fast Spinning I'm going to replace an old Daiwa M rod that had the tip broken off an repaired a while back with another Crucial. I was extremely happy with the two I picked up not long enough. I'm looking for another worm/multi purpose rod. I really liked the 7' M drop shot casting rod, but it just has too soft of a tip for my liking. I'm leaning towards the CRCX70M, but I really can't make up my mind if I should pick up another MH or drop down to a M for lighter worming. Appreciate any input you all have.

Boat Storage
So I've been looking for a glass boat for a while now, my major issue has been storage. My HOA won't allow boats to be kept in public view. I can't fit a trailer into the backyard. My only hope would be garage kept, that really narrows down the size of the boat/trailer I can stick in there along with the other stuff I have that must go in the garage. Buying a larger house, as nice as it would be, just isn't an option. How many of you guys use the public storage lots? How safe do you feel with them? Are they worth the costs involved, or do you feel it's pretty ridiculous. I already store my saltwater boat down at my uncle's property and I absolutely hate it being down there. Can't load up the night prior, etc etc. I've found some very nice, five and six year old boats that are in impeccable shape for a decent price. I'm just wondering how good of a thought storing at one of the public yards really is. One of my other concerns is the accessible time to the boat. I know some of the storage lots have very specific hours that you have access.

How late in the season do you fish??
x2 One of the joys of living in southern Florida. Unless we have one of those ridiculously bad cold snaps like earlier this year.
