  1. You know, I really wish I had known that Lox was so close to home. I mean an hour drive is nothing. Hopefully the fish and the weather will cooperate tomorrow. I've got braid on basically everything, if the wind kicks up too much things can get a little fun.
  2. TM strap claimed and gone. I'll have it with me in the morning.
  3. I was bored so I decided to take a picture. Had a PM requesting some. My only complain is the hook keeper design. I would prefer an open ended hook keeper. Add a Fuji easy keeper though, and it's problem solved. The spinning rod is absolutely wonderful to use. The flippin stick is a tiny bit tip heavy, nothing bad though. As I get some more time using them, I really am starting to notice how sensitive they really are. Pretty good rods for the money.
  4. Thanks. Thats nice to know just in case. You've got that piece of mind kind of thing should the worst happen.
  5. Out of curiosity, do any of you guys need a Rod Saver trolling motor tie down strap? I've got one sitting here in the garage from when I picked up my bow mount that I'll never use. The guy tossed it to me for free so I grabbed it. It's yours if you need one.
  6. That crab looks like it may be a decent Permit bait. How heavy are these, Steve? I realize that they're Elaztech, but how durable are they really? Saltwater fish just absolutely trash plastic lures. Getting more than two fish out of one is usually a bonus.
  7. This might be a dumb question, but how could the fish see the dark worms? Lateral line sensors & eyes. Traditionally, people fish with the darkest available colors at night. Dark colors absorb light, thus the profile of the lure is far easier to see.
  8. Phew, that stuff is pricey. Heck of a testimonial on it though. Mind you, it's the internet, how much can you actually believe. Looking forward to hearing how it works out for you. I've been interested in that stuff. Man it costs some serious bucks though.
  9. Picture and release sounds good. Stick it up next to a measuring board, or a cooler with a ruler on top of it. If everybody has a scale, thats even easier.
  10. All I can say about this is: AT LEAST IT'S NOT MIAMI! WOOOOOOOO!
  11. Not a problem. Everybody shoot me a PM with a cell number, carrier pigeon ID, or something and I'll get a list together and send it out to everybody. And yeah, it is going to be a little windy. 5-10 in the morning, becoming 10-15 in the afternoon. Only a 10% chance of rain now though.
  12. You know, I was actually wondering the same thing. I mean I've never broken a rod, but you never know what can happen.
  13. What about Long Mike then? I heard he predates dirt...
  14. I'm really looking forward to the 7". Hey Big-O, send some my way
  15. I'm with you on that one Evrglades. If I put any other trailer on my jigs down here I don't get nearly the amount of strikes. It's probably because of the really warm water we've got needing that extra movement to draw in strikes. My jig box is definitely getting larger. I'll almost always have one tied on now. Bass Resource got me hooked on the jigs.
  16. I turn 29 in under a month, so 29 years. Primarily saltwater. Never fished freshwater as a kid. Got into bass fishing about eight years ago. Never looked back.
  17. You know, I would really love to get into guiding. The realities though, there is a significant initial investment involved. Between boat, tackle, lures, insurance, etc etc. The bill can get steep pretty quickly, even for the part time guy. Whether or not you plan on guiding every day or one day a week, most of those costs can't be avoided. Then you have gear replacement, live bait each trip if you go that route. Then you need to make sure you've got a fairly steady stream of clients to get yourself out of the initial debt in hopes of finally turning a profit. Hopefully my current business continues to do well. I'd like to think guiding could be a very nice retirement hobby. At this point in my life, it's just unrealistic.
  18. Good. Only about an hour drive from here. Give or take a few minutes. Never realized that Lox was actually that close.
  19. I "think" this is it. It's the only info I could find about a ramp on Lox Rd. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. http://www.floridaairboattoursinc.com/directions.htm
  20. Spot removers are great jigheads. You posting that actually reminded me that I need to pick up a few more before too long. 10lb is probably fine, several people like 6-8. I've never had an issue going between 8 or 10.
  21. You and me both. Just went out in the garage and swapped out some braid between reels. I realized I had lighter braid on a heavier rod and vise versa. Didn't make much sense.
  22. Easy things to check are the float or the arm. The arm inside my tank was a little cocked out of position and the tank would never read correctly. I'd put in 150 - 200 bucks worth of fuel and it'd show a quarter tank. Hopefully it's an easy thing to fix for you and not something electrical.
  23. Good lord, replied as I was typing my last one. That works for me. I can come up a bit earlier if you need a hand swapping batteries.
  24. From the way it looks, South FLA and Piscicidal, you two have the choice between myself and Krzkev. I'm good with either one of you, just let me know. Why do I feel like I'm the last kid getting picked to play dodgeball......again. Darn childhood memories. Either way, give me a shout. I'll be bringing a 94 QT cooler of ice if anybody needs some.
