Don't even worry about it, Glades. Unfortunately for all of us, work has to come before fishing. It's one of those needed evils that gets in the way of fun for everybody. Just think of it this way, I'd much rather be employed with the economy the way it is than be able to do whatever I wanted day in and day out. Working hard just makes fishing that much more enjoyable.

Hasta la bye bye Carbonlite, hello Shimano...
One of them is now sitting on a Crucial. Another is on a Daiwa rod, a third is on a Pinnacle rod, the fourth is on a crankin stick.

Strike King Crankbaits-VERY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't beat that. Gotta love when a company has solid customer service like that. It's a shame that more companies aren't that easy to deal with.

Alberto knot
So I had a break off earlier today, right at my leader connection. I figured that this was as good as a time to try out the Alberto knot that RW has suggested for a while know. Takes me a little longer to tie it, primarily because it's new to me. I'm really impressed with the strength of this knot compared to the uni-uni connection. It's also a far smaller knot. For those of you who haven't tried it, do it. You really may be surprised with it in the end. Link to the diagram: http://www.stripersonline.com/Pages/Articles/article_arby_albertos_knot.shtml

That swelling on those red eyes is pretty awesome. I've never seen that before. Tie one on and see how it fishes... ;D

ESPN Pulling out of BASS
Ive only caught that show a couple of times and cant say I can really stomach it. Locally theres a show on FSN(Fox Sports Network) called "Fishing with Johnny Johnson". Show is ok,but the laugh of this guy is as bad as,if not worse than Jimmy Houstons. The Most annoying laugh at 12:53. I know the guy is excited but C'MON!!! Wow. I mean Jimmy Houston has one annoying laugh, that dudes is just ridiculous. Reminds me of some of the horses I dealt with when I was in the Army.

I personally haven't. I've heard that they're great rods. The Crucial just felt a little more comfortable in my hand.

Hit the window just right
Great picture Snook. I grabbed a few decent slot sized snook late yesterday when I was checking out the boat down in Homestead. Went over to Black Point and tossed the classic DOA shrimp next to a spillway and it was game on. I almost forgot how much fun they are to catch. Almost made me want to get my snook stamp again.

Accident on the water
Sounds like this is just another reminder to have that PFD on while the big motor is going. Feel bad for the families involved. Sad story.

Keep an eye on the hook keepers. I'm generally very careful with my gear, stored inside, etc etc. I've just seen in the past what rust can do. I sanded both of them down, rust free, put a rust inhibitor on them, and it still came back. I could have had some of the first run of rods, maybe they swapped them to stainless afterwards. Who knows. It was just something I didn't want to deal with anymore.

Phew, Kendall. I'd need an awesome reason to go down there. Hungry Bear in that area makes some seriously good subs though....hrmmmm......

MISSING IN ACTION
I'm sure he'll be back around. They just got done unveiling a bunch of stuff at ICAST. Could still be a bit busy getting finished up and out of Vegas from the show.

What your favorite, go 2 Peacock bass lure?
It's a nice little store. The problem with it though is that it's tucked inside of that strip mall. If you don't know it's there, you'll never see it. It's also far too close to BPS (5 minutes away). I hate seeing the little shops going under, but I can honestly understand the reasons why. I'll have to keep my eyes out for a clearance sale there.

Pick me up some of those rage tails. I'll get you some cash in the mail or something

Hasta la bye bye Carbonlite, hello Shimano...
So I decided to ditch my Carbonlites. I really liked the rods, but I was just finally done with looking at the rusted hook keepers. I know eventually they were going to rust down through the threads and probably crack the epoxy that was coating the threads. I really didn't want to deal with that in the future. Took both of them back to BPS earlier today to swap them out. Customer service gave me absolutely no problems whatsoever. I figured what the heck, let me upgrade a little bit while I was there. Most of my saltwater gear is Shimano, so needless to say I went ahead with a company I'm very comfortable with. Can't beat the warranty either. Picked up a pair of Crucials: CRCX76MH - 7'6" MH XFast Casting CRSDX72M - 7'2" M XFast Spinning (Drop Shot/Shaking) I realize the casting rod is considered a flipping rod, but I'll primarily be using it for t-rigs and jigs. We'll see how it works out, should be fine though. I need to play around with them some more once the rain goes away. Doesn't seem quite as sensitive as the Carbonlite for worming, that could be because I've only used it for a few minutes though. Need to acclimate to the rod. Overall though, I'm very happy with them so far. Very nice quality rods. I wanted to grab some Cumara's, but I just couldn't justify spending the extra cash them. Messed around with a Stradic C14 while I was there. That reel is definitely on my Christmas list. Man that thing is light.

bad news guys
Rofl. Never looked at it like that before.

rage craw = finesse rage toad??
I'll do similar things with them when I'm t-rigging it. I'll just burn them back across the surface on occasion. I've stuck a few nice fish doing it. Makes a decent amount of noise and commotion. "Rage craws...being versatile day in and day out."

Pictures of lipless cranks at rest
Man, that Koppers Shiner looks sexy. I really need to get my hands on one of those.

What do you use for a "peg" fro your soft plastic's?
I use the BPS branded ones. Looks exactly like those Eagle Claw stops. Cheap and work great. My only complaint is that I wish they came in all black. Not red, black, and yellow...
