  1. Good lord Germany looked good today. Mind you, they were playing Australia and the "fearsome" Socceroos. If they keep playing like that, Klose just may top Ronaldo for all time World cup goals. He's sitting on 11 now. Argentina's got a good team, I just think Maradona might be the downfall for them. Messi looked ridiculous like always. Nobody else so far has shown much promise.
  2. Sad to see him get KO'd....again. He's finished. As much as I'd like to see another Liddell vs. Ortiz fight, it's not happening. Thanks for the memories Chuck.
  3. Really the first way to answer all of your questions is to start with one of my own. Where in Florida are you fishing? Florida isn't just swarming with gators every which way you look. Certain areas have them, some don't. Certain areas where they congregate can have a lot of them at one point, or just a few another. Really the answer to all three questions is yes. If you're in an area where gators are, you better be paying attention. The Pythons won't bug you that much. The Water Moccasin's can get very aggressive at times. Just pay attention. There are snakes around almost every lake you've ever fished, nothing different but the breed down here. For the most part the gators will probably leave you alone. If you go near a nest though you better be ready to drop your gear and haul butt. You don't want to mess around with a mother gator.
  4. Put it this way. I've never lost a fish using heat shrink. One worm will last you...well, a long time with the heat shrink. You just need to make sure you use an appropriate size to the worm. Otherwise it's pointless.
  5. You want quick: Helps to stop ripping the hooks out of the fishes mouth.

  7. The lucky strike worms are just awful. I bought a couple of the finesse kits for my kids to mess around with. They're stiff as all hell. Kind of defeats the purpose of a "soft" plastic.
  8. Right through the heat shrink. You'll get better hook ups with the hook going across the body as well.
  9. Dear god that is some clear water. All the lakes up here are dingy colored right now. Another nice fish Sqhertz. Keep em coming.
  10. I remember seeing that for sale recently on the Miami craigslist.
  11. Yep. Start with the worm fresh out of the bag, slide the heat shrink on it. Heat it. Then stick the hook in it. Just make sure you use an appropriate size tube for the worm you're using. Senko's are a 3/8, trick worms I believe are 1/4.
  12. I'm not sure what Wayne uses. I use a #1 Owner Wacky hook. Thread the hook about halfway through the worm. Feed the shank down into the worm, rotate the hook just like on a t-rig. Insert the hook point back into the worm. The eye of the hook will be inside the worm when you finish.
  13. Nope. It's either extended, or collapsed. I just keep mine extended.
  14. Out of those, I prefer the Owners. And yes, I know I've got the hooks under the wrong package for the Gammy's.
  15. You really need an outboard and at least a bigger boat to run around the place and fish it effectively. I once put my 14' Jon boat in there and the gunwale clearance above the water line was not confidence inspiring around the water control structure where gators tend to hang out, BIG GATORS! Kind of exactly what I was thinking. I've heard enough stories of people dealing with the gators out there. I'll pass on playing around with them.
  16. Senko's, spinnerbaits, and small cranks. Edited to add: Live shiners....thats a stupid proof bait
  17. I do. A little 12 footer. No outboard though. Never been to Lox myself, so I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be running around out there on an electric only boat.
  18. I see you're in Florida. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1275763721 Thats the latest thread on the Summer in FLA.
  19. Looks and weight. Lots of people say the split grips increase sensitivity as well. I just like they way the split grips look. I like a full handle length to cast with both hands though.
  20. Updated list: Sqhertz, we may want to think about riding up together depending on where you are. You know roughly where I'm at, so thats something to think about. I'll shoot you a PM sometime in the next couple of days, SouthFLA. I may have a day off sometime during the next week to run up there.
  21. I require airfare (1st class), paid lodging at the local Motel 6 for no fewer than three nights (two nights before competition, one night afterward), a mini-fridge stocked with V8 juice (plastic bottles only), Sam's Choice water (20 oz. bottles only, no labels) and Velveeta cheese. My appearance fee is $10 000, to be paid in $2 bills. Autographs are $5 per, handshakes $10, hugs $20, photos $50. I offer other services as well. Contact my agent if you're interested in setting up a date. rofl How much extra would it be to force you to use braid and spinning gear only?
  22. I was hoping to catch the weigh in but missed it. What'd he end up with for the day?
  23. You'll be happy, DRhodes. Just remember though, they aren't a magic catchall bait. They've got a ton of action. Sometimes, that may not always be the best thing though.
