  1. I've got one of the XPS Stalker Bags. Love mine. I had one of the extreme qualifier backpacks and wasn't really happy with it.
  2. Safest place to be with an AK-47 drawn on you is right in front of the sights. All joking aside, thats some crazy stuff. Now you need a high powered boat to get to fish quickly...and run from pirates. Stories like this are the primary reason why I invested in a good quality marine grade shotgun a few years ago.
  3. Definitely great to get out with the kids fishing. My daughters love it whenever we get out. Glad you guys are catching fish up there. It's becoming hard to find where the largemouth have disappeared to on my lake. Slim pickings right now. Peacocks are all over the place though.
  4. I've got some stuff from Dichoso before also. Great baits. Romeo is an outstanding guy to deal with. He did some custom pouring for me that came out fantastic.
  5. x2 You think the bait monkey is bad, try feeding Phillip Morris. It's my one nasty habit that I left over from my days in the Army. Granted, I smoke A LOT less than I used to, but it's still expensive as all hell.
  6. I use a 6'9" MH Xfast for my worms and jigs. 30 lb braid and a 6.4:1 ratio. I don't own any heavy rods because I rarely fish in grass that thick. If you do a bunch of flipping and pitching into heavier cover, you should be fine. Other than that, I couldn't tell you.
  7. I've been loving a Rage Lobster lately for pitchin and flippin. Gambler's Ugly Otter has produced a bunch of fish also.
  8. Stuck a couple more fish using a jig. So far using the jig only is very quickly building confidence in the lure for me. Really appreciate the advice you all have given. The fish I've caught on them definitely seem to be a better quality fish also. I'm on probably a 3 pound average with them so far, and that's something I'd never complain about when using a new lure.
  9. Way to go George. Great fish as always.
  10. The one on top looks like a Storm Kickin Shad. The second one, I have no idea.
  11. FWC introduced them down here in the early 80's.
  12. Yeah I got that in my email earlier. Going to sit down tonight after dinner and fill it out.
  13. I think with an extra 20 bucks you can pick up a Carbonlite at BPS. I've really enjoyed using mine. The Bionic Blade that Fishohio mentioned is also a decent rod.
  14. You don't really need that many tools. A decent circular saw and a jigsaw are about all you need. To put the carpet on a pneumatic upholstery stapler does make life easy, but it's not really necessary. It's a fairly easy process if you can follow a line with a saw. You just need to make sure you trace out a good template before you start cutting. I used some large brown paper that came on a roll for my template. Lay it down where you need it, and trace a rough outline with a sharpie. The wood and carpet are really the cheap part. How much would it cost to have somebody professionally do it, I couldn't tell you. I doubt it would be cheap down here though.
  15. So I decide to go out for a few minutes this afternoon just before our regular afternoon thunderstorms roll in. Tossing out a jig with a rage craw on it, and this bites.... Caught a couple others on the same lure before I called it quits after noticing how frayed my leader got. Had another one of similar size yesterday without a camera handy.
  16. Or just don't get blasted. I've done the whole can't remember what the hell happened last night routine. It's not cool. I woke up in some chicks bed without any idea how I got there. Needless to say an uncomfortable situation ensued. Just be smart when you go out to drink. Theres no need to get tanked. Have a few drinks, have a good time, then cut yourself off. Your wallet will thank you later.
  17. Looks good. Nice job. I may have to rig up something like that with an extra post that I've got here.
  18. I've become a big fan of wacky worms. Like Ghoti mentioned, the wacky jigheads are a great way to fish it a little deeper. I personally use the tru-tungsten flea flicker. But any of them will work. Senko's are nice on them, but I've really enjoyed using a Zoom Swamp Crawler. Plus you get a bunch of them in each package. If you use a Senko, I'd put a small piece of 3/8th heat shrink on it. Helps to stop the bait from tearing up.
  19. I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm not a fan of going to a movie theater, but I'll definitely picking it up when it comes out on Blu-Ray.
  20. I've seen all of them when they aired. Loved the show. I'd like to see a second season come out.
  21. Well, I would think that the standard answer would be it's a darker day, darker water color because it's on the darker end of the color spectrum. Personally, I've thrown a purple toned bait in all weather conditions and have had success. A good 65% of my plastics are probably in the purple color family.
  22. That gold and black one looks flipping beautiful.
  23. I'm a big fan of the baby craw, craw, and lobster. Great series of plastics. Big Tex and Double Header have been my most productive colors this year.
