Drop Shot Baits?
Strike King Super Finesse worms work fine for me. But Bass Magic shaky tails in silver shad color are just killer

Bass boat carpet
I mean you could always use some of that clear shrink wrap like you seen on every old ladies furniture. It'll keep it clean, but it aint very functional....

Bass boat carpet
I've never tried it on boat carpet, but theres always the spray on scotchguard stuff thats used in household carpeting. I don't see why it wouldn't work on marine carpet. You may have to apply it a little more regularly on a boat though.

Anybody down in South FLA fishing tomorrow?
Agreed. I gave up on it today. I'm trying again tomorrow.

Anybody down in South FLA fishing tomorrow?
I'll be doing some fishing tomorrow morning for a few hours if the weather is halfway decent if anybody wants to meet up. Only have till about 12 or 1 in the afternoon before I pick up the kids from school. I may hit up one of the parks and do some bank fishing if anybody wants to head out somewhere. Let me know if you're at all interested.

Lets Talk Spawn
I did fairly well this year site fishing with small jigs like a spot remover or a shake2 jig. Usually just had a small finesse worm on them. The upright hook makes sticking the fish a heck of a lot easier. As far as sunglasses, I like the amber color down here for my greener tinged lake. Like Bassman22 said, a grey colored lens is great on bright days.

You're Invited to the 5th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Surprisingly....I need quite a bit. My business can go from slow...to stupid fast very quickly. And the first part of the year is extremely busy for me. Fishing is usually one of the last things on my mind Dec. through about late march to early April. Add that to the fact that I'm a single parent of two, so yeah planning can be an adventure at times. I think I'm due for a vacation though. I've had one by myself in the last six years.

You're Invited to the 5th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Yeesh. I just sat here and watched the videos from previous years and it's making me hate the fact more and more that I can't go this year. Hopefully next roadtrip I'll be able to plan a little earlier so I can have my parents watch my daughters for me. God only knows, hopefully I'll have a place to store a boat so I can drag one along with me. Would be a bit silly of me to drag a small Jon with me. I hope you guys have a great time on Pickwick.

Favorite Lure that doesn't work?
Anything with the word "jig" in it. I like using jigs, but I swear me and jigs just don't mix. I've caught one fish on a jig. One of these days I need to try a different lake and toss a jig around and see what happens.

Fishfinder - best value
Theres a thread on the 570 somewhere around here. I know I was very disappointed with it and returned it. I believe Dink Whisperer had some serious issues with his as well. I'm not sure how that turned out, you may want to PM him and see what troubles he had on his.

Killer Florida pattern's......
Great paint jobs. I'd be interested in grabbing a couple of those if you've got some to sell.

Best Magazine
It's far easier to read a magazine while sitting on the toilet though But for me, it'd be Bassin. The latest one has a nice article on wacky rigging that I plan on using eventually. I've never tried it out much before and now actually want to.

WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! PB for me!!!!
I was talking to my kids P.E teacher today while I was out on the lake. One spot he highly recommended is Quiet Waters park in Deerfield. He said they sink a lot of trees at whatnot out there. He landed a good 40 fish out of there last weekend. Most were small fish, but he said he picked up several larger fish. Apparently electric motors are allowed up there. I'm trying to plan a trip to drive out there one of these days.

From the Classic Contest

First "real" outing of the year
So, tomorrow morning I'm actually going to wake up early to do some fishing. I'm curious to how you guys would attack this lake. One section is mostly submerged vegetation in around 10'-15' of water that drops down to the mid 20's. The shallower section of it is a broad cove, the narrower section is a step drop off on each side with lots of weeds that have a small channel in the middle of them with a harder clear bottom. Water temps recently later in the day have been mid to upper 70's. So I'd expect the surface temps early in the morning to be in the lower 70's. I'll probably bring two rods with me, I might bring a third. Two casting M/mod and MH/XFast, one ML/Fast spinning for finesse gear. What would you throw if you were me. The first spawn recently ended, so theres not much sight fishing happening. Edited to add: Looks like it'll be pre-frontal conditions also.

Boat carpet
Thats a very nicely done carpet job right there. Having that quality carpet probably makes it much easier to work with as well. Nicely done.

My first LMB on a Jig
Nice fish right there. I'm still trying hard to get my first real jig fish. Catching them on swim jigs just doesn't seem to count for me. And yes, the Carbonlite rods and reels are pretty nice. I've got one with the rod and reel for casting as well as a ML carbonlite spinning rod that I picked up a couple of days ago that I LOVE. For anybody wondering, they're sensitive enough that I can feel a wacky worm wiggling in the water as it drops. Great job, hopefully I'll grab some of your mojo and nail me a good jig fish in the next few days.

WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! PB for me!!!!
yes ;D i was NOT expecting that. ill be up that way again tonight through sat afternoon if you wanted to meet up. btw ,why is the font so tiny and gray when i type in the reply box , but when its posted , its normal? I'll let you know if I'm free on Saturday. I'm trying to go out on the boat sat or sun to nail some fish on the reefs. Snapper and kingfish for dinner sounds mighty nice. All depends on what the weather does though. As far as the font being tiny, resize it back up at the bottom right corner of the reply box. It happens to me once in a while also.

WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! PB for me!!!!

BPS Pro Qualifier on Sale
Although I don't really need them, I may pick up another couple at that price. I was extremely happy paying 100 bucks for them when I did. 70 bucks is even better.

Depth finder spliced into Trolling motor power
I have mine spliced directly into the main power cable for my TM on my Jon. I get little to no interference on my sonar. If there is any, it's very minor and I rarely notice it on my screen.
