Whats wrong with this Bass?
Let me ask? Did you catch this fish shallow and is it sandy where you are fishing? I'm not expert but when we catch fish like that it usually happens in the spring when the fish are in the shallows fanning. My dad says sand gets underneath their scales and causes an irritation and kinna like a rash for fish. Just a theory but I haven't researched it.

Gotta blow off some steem!
Yesterday I'm in a local marine store and I meet Jeff Canella if you didn't know he is a professional in the Elite series. Everything was going great. I didn't know but he lives locally here in Pineville. Then I meet a man who is an absolute A*$. He downs everything I say about bassfishing and everything that Canella had to say. I hate it when someone with a cocky attitude tells you that everything you are doing is stupid. That was yesterday. Today I go fishing this afternoon and the fishing was terrible the wind was blowing about 25 mph and we only caught one LM about 2lbs and about a 10LB leapord Gar. I wasn't upset over the fishing trip. I was just happy that I got the chance to go fishing because that's just the way I am. Then I get to my friend's house to drop him off and get to talking to his dad. I tell him that my dad is about to make me put all my fishing gear up for this year and do some hunting which is fine...Everything needs a break. When I tell his dad that, ine the spring, I want to enter some open tournaments against grown men (which I already knew would be a challenge), he acted like I wasn't good enough and that his son (my fishing partner) better not be showing me any of his spots during the spring. I take criticism to heart and his dad is a very good fisherman and I listen to what he has to say but it upsets me when someone acts like they're better than me. I'm not tryin to be conceited but I know I'm pretty good but I don't boast about it. I keep my mouth shut and let my fishing do the talking. I guess the only way I can solve this is to show them in the spring. But as for now I needed to blow off some steem that's been building up the last couple days. If you took the time out to read this far, I appreciate the time and effort to read this thread. SO ANY COMMENTS AND ADVICE FOR THE SPRING? lol ;D I want to try new things and hear some different advice.

Tickling a Catifish!
I've done this since I was little and I swear it acually works (or atelast it's worked for me). My dad told me when I was a little boy that if you had a crazy ctafish that just didn't want to settle down so that you could take the hook out you could tickle it on its under belly and make it calm down. I've caught catfish yo yoing, on bass rods, and actually fishing for them and everytime I catch one that's what I do. I swear it has worked for me. I was wondering if anyone else had ever heard of this?

Unusual carcasses
I came across a dead bore hog's carcass one time but it had been decomposing for so long It took me a while just to figure out what it was. I thought it was a chubacabra for a little while but then I figured out what it was.

WHO'S AN ARTIST?
My highschool is about to make t-shirts for our club and I was wondering if anyone on this site would like to draw or create a design for the back of our t-shirts. I have been asking a few people (mostly girls) from our school and we do not seem to have many artists. If you are interested and want to help then you can draw a design and scan it and post the scanned item in this thread as a comment or you can create a design through a word document and do the same. Or you can email the design to me at tamburger112292@aol.com Any help or participation would be GREATLY!! appreciated. I will print all of the designs that are made and present them to the club so we may vote on them. Once we have chosen the design that we like best I will get the shirts made and post pictures of it on this site. Things that may help you: *School name- Buckeye Highschool *Mascot-Panther Remember to be extemely creative! Thanx again, Dalton

Fishing Mountainous rivers !!!HELP!!!
Thanks for the advise!! Sounds like you know what you're doing. What pound line do you suggest in that clear water? I know it needs to be small in diameter but in those rocks I'm worried about it getting abrasions and being cut?

Fishing Mountainous rivers !!!HELP!!!
I'm from Louisiana but my family owns some land near Buffalo River. I have tried fishing the Buffalo for smallies before but didn't have the best of luck. We plan on going up there in the next couple of weeks so I thought I'd bring a fishing pole or two. Can anyone offer some advice on fishing the buffalo river? If you fish the White River and have any info. to spare it may be useful too since they are similar. Thanx, Dalton

Over all great day!
Friday morning we were out of school so me and my cousin decided to go fishing at our local saline-larto complex. Two huge lakes that are entertwined together by bayous and creeks. I've always fished on the saline side and caught alot of good fish but I wanted to try the larto lake end. It was our first time out on larto but it was great. We found a tree top that had many small eating sized fish so we kept a few for a fish fry we caught like 10 or 12 and decided to leave the little fish alone and go find some larger bass. I've heard that the docks on the lake were good for big fish so we went there. Well we fished for about 45 minutes with little strikes and no fish. Untill I pulled up on a cypress tree next to one of the camp docks and hooked into this mama. I didn't have my scales with me but I'd say she was right at 5 lbs. Then after that we caught a couple more chunks about 2.5 lbs and called it a day. Sorry about the blurriness my phone takes bad pictures

need some ideas for upcoming fishing trips
Down here the water temp. doesn't get that low till about a month after each of the dates you claimed but I know I've had good luck in water between 50 and 60 degrees split shotting a craw worm or creature bait around here. This works well over hydrilla or coontail grasses under the water on flats. I don't really know why but I think it may slow your bait down and that will cause more strikes since the fish's metabolism is lower due to the low temp. If the lake you are fishing is very deep then I would try a crankbait 6-8 foot depth. I like to use bandits, there inexpensive and have great action. If the water is clear look for a bandit crankbait called "original perch" color. Remember to crank the bait a little slower down on tree tops and logs. If the water is very staind I would look for "Pear with black back" or solid "pear with the red eyes". Maybe try a lizard weightless or with a small weight if possible. Anyway just providing a few tips. Hope you wax em!
