  1. Has anyone heard about the pros vs joes tournament out of fin and feather next October? I was just wondering if anyone planned to fish it
  2. Its ok man. It won't be spoiled. I still plan to do this every year. Thanks, I really appreciate the offer
  3. Well.... I'm fairly certain that he isn't going to be sending me anything because his profile says that the last time he was active was November 21 and we didn't even know our partners at that time..... It's cool, maybe when he get's my gift he'll send one back.
  4. I'm worried that my exchange partner may have forgotten about it.....
  5. running behind..... college exams have put a halt on everything! I'll have it sent off Monday
  6. Absolutely Amazing!
  7. I love it! The new format is really nice
  8. I have also just recently been experimenting with Navionics and i really like it alot. It shows boat rows, creek channels, humps. ridges, and alot more. It also tells you the speed in which you are moving at. If you are looking for a fishing game, I really love the Rapala fishing game. It's pretty cool. Just got it the other day.
  9. As some of you may know, I just started fishing for Louisiana Tech and have been stoked to fish in college for A LOOONG time. My first tournament didn't go so well as I did not get to fish it because I got in a bad wreck on the way to the tournament that morning. I felt like life had put a damper on my fishing since college started. With little time to get out on the lake, I felt like maybe I was loosing my will and drive to be a great angler. Some of you may have read a post of mine talking about that very thing. I appreciated the words of wisdom but it did little to actually boost my self esteem. Well... I just fished "MY" first qualifier Sunday on Lake Darbonne and WON! Not just won, I did very good considering the conditions and based off the other competitors' weights. I ended up having a 12.4 lb bag of fish. Second was apprx. 10 lbs., 3rd was my coangler which had 6 lbs. and after that was about 4 lbs. on to zilch. We had around 15-20 guys fishing and it RAINED.... ALL STINKING DAY. It was sooo cold. I caught my fish on a watermelon Jig with an ultra vibe speed craw for a trailor dipped in JJ's magic chartreuse color. I was fishing docks but it was very tough... I had to literally pitch my jig as far under the dock as possible and try to fish every post going into the water. I tried catching the fish off of structure around the dock but they just weren't there and I think that's where alot of guys went wrong. I really feel like a million bucks right now and feel like I am back in the game. I am qualified to Fish Sam Rayburn in a couple weeks but I don't think I am going to be able to because I only have a 16 ft. Skeeter and was told it would be a suicide attempt to put it on that lake if the winds picked up. I was supposed to fish with another guy that had a bigger boat but he backed out and no one else is going to be able to either. But on the other hand, I am also qualified to fish Lake Amistad this coming February, the 4th, I believe and it is an FLW tournament so I will be provided with a driver and 20-22 foot Ranger. I am So PUMPED! Guess I have to start my research on Amistad now because the unfortunate part of FLW is there is no prefishing time. So thanks for taking the time to read this if you got this far. I just needed to share the News with everyone. Also, if you are a Stick on Amistad and want to help someone out, I'm available for conversation. Keep Fishing, Dalton
  10. Sounds like you guys are doing good. Saturday I went with a guy out to cocodrie. We killed our six man limit of 36 and then went back the next day, it was pretty foggy and only killed 13. Went out on Saline monday to my uncles spot with him and some three other guys and killed 26. Tuesday went to Green Tree and killed ten before the rain set in really hard, and yesterday I went to Catahoula to Collin Camack's blind and only killed three Canvasback. There were a few ducks flying but the north wind was blowing and they had no intentions of landing of the Southeast side of the lake. Other than those three canvas back we've been killing some pretty good ducks. few green heads, wigeon, gadwall, pintail, lots of teal on opening day, and a few spooneys. I was surprised by green tree, i had never been in there till the other day and we didn't do half bad. I may go back out there tomorrow morning. BTW do you hunt on the north or south end?
  11. My number is 318-787-7232 call me up if you need an extra limit one day next week. After next week I'll be headed back to Tech but will probably be making many trips in on the weekend. If we get a good rain sunday or tuesday like they are calling for, I may be able to hunt my hole next week a little bit.
  12. Mallards, Gadwall, wegion, lots and lots of pintail out there. Woodducks, teal, and just about any kind of duck in between. BTW, Fanatic and I are from the same neck of the woods and yes it is an amazing place to be during duck season. Although I hunt about 10 miles north of the lake in a cypress swamp and it was dry as a bone last year and its not looking very good this year. Its a little more wet than last year but not enough for us to hunt at our hole. KINNA LOOKIN FOR SOMEONE TO HUNT WITH ON THE MAIN LAKE. "hint" "hint" Josh....... j/k If we get a couple nice rains, maybe we can hunt our hole this year. I'm praying hard!
  13. I'm in... Look forward to this every year!
  14. I think I could help you. Started a bass club at my school when I was a sophomore and ran it through my senior year. You first need to hold a meeting just to see what interest you have. You really may be surprised. If you have a good turn out. Ask to see who would be willing to pay dues. We joined the TBF last year and I would strongly suggest you go to the world finals at dardanelle. It's an amazing experience. We had a bass club for two years before we heard about the tbf. We didn't require an adult inthe boat. It's risky but it worked for all of our highschool tournaments. U can start by charging 20 dollar dues for just the highschool club. That will cover there t shirts and u will still have plenty left over trust me. Then when u find out who is serious about fishing. U can get to join the tbf with you. You will be required to have atleast seven members to join the tbf. So try to promote the tbf big time. This should help u get started and I've typed enough if u have any more questions shoot me a pm
  15. I fish for Louisiana Tech. Just started this year. There are three main divisions of college fishing: collegiatebassfishing through boat u.s. ( I believe) , BASS has a division and flw has a division. But you will or should have qualifiers within your own college club before you will be allowed to fish on the higher level in these leagues. I was suppose to fish my first qualifier this passed weekend but I got in a back vehicle incident on the way to the lake. Soooo it will have to be my one drop tournament. It sucks because I was on fish and only twelve pounds won.
  16. Could anyone give mr some tips and techniques to make my designs more defined. I'm new to this and I know nothin at all. If I wanted to paint on metal. Such as brass or copper, is there a type of paint to use that won't run? And what techniques could I use to make the design more distinct? What types of air brushes do you guys use? These are the basic things I'm curious about? Any other tips would be appreciated also. Thanks, Dalton
  17. We were in between I-20 and Homer. I was on my way to pick up my boat and head to Lake Claiborne. Luckily I didn't have my boat behind me. The wreck could have been alot worse with that plus I would have been out of a truck and boat.
  18. Yes unfortunately. Careless operation.
  19. Haha no you don't. The message was very clear! How have you guys been?
  20. . No lol the insurance doesn't cover the rod unfortunately. Fortunately I just put full coverage on my truck about a month before college.
  21. No I wasn't wearing it. Honestly people keep telling me that most people die when they are ejected so I feel very fortunate. And Yes I will most certainly always be wearing my seat belt.
  22. Hi everyone, so I previously posted about me getting ready to attend my first college fishing tournament. I was super excited because we were on the fish to win the tournament. It was a great morning like any other. Wake up, drink coffee and that morning rush on the way to the lake while listening to my favorite music. My friend and I talked about everything that was ahead of us that day. The roads were a little wet but I paid no attention to it. I noticed that we had been behind a car for about 15 minutes that insisted on going 10 miles under the speed limit. I calmly waited for my chance to pass the car. The first passing lane I came to just happened to be on a downward hill. I felt that I only had a little time to pass so I punched the accelerator. Then.... No traction from my back tires as I was headed strait for the car in front of me. So I turned the wheel to gain control of the run away truck. the truck spun radically around and I still had no control...... I remember the first flip and then all I remember is waking up on the ground, roughly between 30 and 40 yards from where my truck landed. I woke up to my friend yelling my name. I'm not sure how long I was out for but the car in front of us left us there to die, so we had to flag down someone and luckily an off duty police officer was passing by. I am so greatfull to just be alive and well much less to be in the shape that I am in. I only suffer from minor injuries such as some bruises, skin tears and cuts. My friend somehow made it through with not a scratch at all!!! If we would have slid off the road six feet earlier we would have slammed a 4 foot embankment and a huge culvert and six feet further, we would have slammed a big oak tree. I praise God for every day he gives me and I will always remember the day he saved me from this awful crash. P.S.- Unbelievably, out of all 11 rods we had with us, only one was broken. Praise God for that also! My truck at the local wrecked car lot.
  23. I'm from central Louisiana around the Alexandria area. A little town called Deville, LA. Our local fishery is the Saline/Larto Complex. Maybe you've heard of it?
  24. So now I am officially enrolled and schooling at LA Tech University in Ruston, LA. All my classes are going pretty good except for math :-( but I'm certain I can turn things around. I'm finally getting used to the life of fending for myself. I kind of like it actually. My First college qualifying tournament will be on a local lake this Sunday. I'm super pumped. The lake is about 7 feet low so its gonna be tedious running. A local from that owns a bait shop here in town gave me some super information and I'm stoked to get out on Saturday and try it out. I will try to put up the results on this thread and maybe also some nice pictures if I catch em pretty good. Here is a pic of a fish I caught Wednesday evening out there while prefishing. My partner and I only ended up boating two but with the conditions the conditions the way were (40 mph winds due to the major front pushing through) I was super happy about it.
