I'm going to laugh (and cry) if some sets a new state record on #400. I'm from Texas and i haven't fished there in over 13 years

BR.com/LBH clothing line. Opinions pls
I wasn't talking Gore-tex, i couldn't afford that. I ment the wind breakers like coaches use, some of the moderatly priced ones are water proof nylon and have a cotton liner that helps keep a little warm. The pull overs aren't that expensive unless you start getting the type with liners and depending on lining is what makes the price. LBH, I like it, I would like to see a waterproof wind breaker, in Black for LBH and a khaki one for BassResource.com, or a pull over windbreaker like golfers wear. I would buy the hoodie today if avalible.

Flechero's custom built rods
I want to inquire to purchase the unfinished rod, i like the look and the shorter handle. When are you opening shop? Those are really nice looking rods. I am only somewhat serious about the purchase of the un finished one. But if you even need a few dollars PM me and we can talk.

how far have u gone?
Break the bait monkey out of the house, since the wife had him on LOCKDOWN! Then try to pay the bill before the wife saw it. And disappear for a weekend so she would not be yelling at me about money when i came back. But other than that, nothing special.

2/16/06--Electro-Shocking Pond(s) story/pics
L-ROD DO YOU KNOW THE FREQUENCY HE WAS USING? iF IT IS A dc CURRENT OR A LOW FREQUENCY(LESS THAN 400hz) YOU PROBABLY SHOULD BE CHECKED OUT BY A DOCTOR. I work with electronics all day loang and that is a major concern , high frequency power won't affect much in your system unless the amps get you, but you would of felt that( Burns ETC) Low frequncy power can slightly alter you heart beat pattern and cause ARITHMIA(spelling) I have seen people get hit hit with less than 25 volts have heart murmurs, the only way to fix it to to get shocked again by a machine the docotrs have, that pumpes your heart full of "juice" at the correct freq. Other than that thanks for the pictures and story. Dave 13 year Aviation Electronis Tech

How can you make round body cranks
A Hasp or wretched-cut file will help on more denser woods, but other that that a carving knife is about it. I started a feel weeks ago making round bodies, use 1" or 3/4" blocks, the rest is the same as flatsides, just A LOT more shaping. The drilling and cutting are the same.

Drained Lake Pics
If you have the money to spend or know where some one is tearing down an old BRICK house, i'd get a truck and fill the bed with brick or palletes of stock from HomeDepot and make a few larger holding areas in the transitions you showed in the pics. THe few you saw where nice(like i know what i'm talking about) but a few more placed where they compliment the natrul ones whould be great. am i making sense?

Carving a cranbait
any straight edged pocket knife or an exacto carving knife will work. For balsa a pairing knife from the kitchen will work.

My first lures...

My first lures...
Well, i tested the "Walking Stick" (Bottom Pic) and the Spook clone today. The spook didn't do so well, it is still to front heavy so it doesn't "walk the dog", at least not consistantly. I have a few ideas to change it up so not to be a total waste. :-/ The walking stick, YESSSS!!! It worked just the way i wanted it to. I nice small slash on casting, even when chunked a mile. I really tight walk, the lure is 5 inches long, and walks back and forth in about an 8" area. I wanted to be able to cast next to standing timber and lay downs in shallow coves, and not spook the fish holding close to that cover. 8-) Now the hard part, see if i can duplicate it, since i have no idea how much weight i put in it.

Cool, maybe i'll be able to catch a "HAWG" on the first lure i made. That would be "like soooo cooolll"! Thanks for the invite.

Bass Resource Pictures
bassinchik, Where abouts you located? I'll be down in Boluxi, for training at Kessler AFB, from March to August. I noticed that a lot of the southern folks on the board are only a few hours drive away. I will definately be looking for people to fish with while i'm down.

Bass Resource Pictures
I was just surfing through the rest of the site and found the"Bass Fishing Pictures" pages. I know this isn't Glenns fault( I hope) But the latest picture posted to the pages was from last 2004. Come on folks, i know just from reading posts here that you all have oggles of pictures that need to permanently hosted here.(Sorry in advance Glenn) I have seen a few in the forums from the last couple of months, but thats almost a whole year with out some new entries. If this option was stopped for some reason i don't know of please diregard, otherwise get those pictures in.

Cross between countdown and jig???
I have been thinking about this, i may have to hollow out most of the lure to get rid of bouyancy with out having to make it a 2 or 3 oz lure. I want it to be light enough for normal rod use at the most 1.5oz for a jig/flippin rod. Any suggestions on wood type to try? I am kinda leaning toward oak for stregnth since there won't be and awlful lot of "wood" left when i'm done. The scetches i have started don't look that hard to carve out.

Cross between countdown and jig???
I want to make a countdown bait in the shape of a blue gill, that can be bounce on the bottom like a jig. There is a swin bait like this but i want to try it out of wood and make it a little smaller. I am interested if anyone else has tried this. i am thinking to weight it on the bottom of the nose with a small lip for a little wobble when sinking, lifted and/or jerked(or would a flat face like a rattle trap do the same?) Line tie would be high on the head or on the nose. I want the hooks to stick up away from the bottom to reduce snags. The tail would be a "marabou tied" treble or weedless single to give the simulation of movement while bait is feeding or dieing on the bottom.

biggest bass youve ever caught?
Junebug Senko - high 2's low 3's Tules bay, NC Didn't have a scale or measuring tape with me at the time. Ihope to improve that by the end of 2006 width me being sent all across the states for training. Sad isn't it!

Could Someone Explain Lip Angles?
I asked similar question a few days ago thru PM to one of our members. He told me that the Lip angle and "Line Tie Point" are the major factors in depth, with weight and balance being the minor factors. He also said making a lure get to 6 feet is easy, but 16+ feet is not. Thanks Whittler! dave
