When it comes to handles it is important for field mods. Case in point I have a Abu Revo Skeet Reese that the knob handle bent. Abu used aluminum hardware to attach to handle, very easy to bend on hook sets and reelin in lunkers.

I bought a Revo and got an Abu jacket a long while ago. Nice wind breaker. A buddy of mine got those Wiley X's, very nice fitting glasses for small frame noggins. 8-)

Great input fellas! As a Revo Premier guy it's hard to break the mold. I bought a Quantum PT Tour last season and compared it to my Abu Skeet Reese. It's like going from a 20hp outboard back to a 9.9. I just want to keep that Abu Skeet feeling going, it brought me mucho confidence and a fantastic season! I'm hoping a Pat XT on a 705 Dobyns glass will continue that feeling!

Good point Larry, I've caught fish on every rod/reel I've purchased (including Scooby-Doo.) I think what BadBass94 is looking for is good advice to make the purchase count and not miss the show... As we all know our rigs are great conversation starters when meeting a new club member, angler, etc.

I have a Cyclone Winder by Triangle Manufacturing. I use it a lot! I dont know if they still sell this outfit, but it works extremely well. I dont know about the Berkley spooling station...

I use Trilene mono XL smooth 12lb. I don't loose fish to the line strength, when I loose'em it's cause of a clinch knot... The one thing I do to ensure quality line and strength is I respool often, maybe once every 2 months.

Thanks for the input fellas. Ive been wanting to try a new cranking rod. I purchased a 705CB Glass this morning and will put it through the paces in the spring. BR is a great way to get a true review on products, especially since my exposure to new fishing rods is limited. Most of the fishermen in my club have multiple model rods and reels of the same brand. I too own a Skeet Reese REVO and love it! Smooth casting and light as a feather. I also bent the knob handle on a hook set. They are attached with what looks like aluminum rivets... It is my favorite reel!

Fish docks in 8' of water, shady areas and laydowns. Buzzbaits and sinkos. Good luck.
