  2. lol.... Come on guys! Ninjas are Japanese, and Brandon Lee was Chinese... And the name Thai is obviously niether... I was in the military a long time and no, no-one looks alike... I can tell Filipino from Korean to Okinowan. Nice pic with Mount Fuji in background... Manong...
  3. NovaAngler, I'm going to try out the Dobyn's tomorrow. Flippin4it has a secret spot he says should be clear... I'll let you know how it goes. I got the Dobyns paired up with a Patriarch XT, nice and light. Thai, if you throw a snakehead tourney, let me know that sounds like a lot of fun. I've seen them brought in during our tourneys. They look like they would make a great belt or boots. Some even say they are delicious.
  4. Nice pics fellas! Thsi snakehead has elluded me. Thai, you resemble the late Brandon Lee with that last photo with long hair...Cool...
  5. If in tidal water, drift with current. If in reservior stay outside bass beds, long cast paramount! If you fish deep water, I cant help you....

  10. Thanks for the info guys. Interesting tips to keep line quality. I normally re-spool every three months, but i'll try the conditioner!
  11. Hey guys, just a heads up. Bent my crank handle knob on my Skeet Reese Revo baitcaster. Called ABu and the OEM crank handle assembly is on back order till mid March. I suspect this has happened to a lot of fishermen, as the connecting hardware is aluminum. Well, I ordered a standard Revo Premier handle to see if it would work. It works great! It's just not the extra long length as the original Skeet Reese handle. Just an FYI to those of you who are impatient like me...
  12. You have'nt fished my friend until your below 7 oz. Trust me, spend the loot, you only live once!
  13. James river produces SMB's!
  14. Kent, don't you find Curado's heavy? I like Shimano, but the weight keeps me from being a big fan. I've borrowed a chronarch a time or two on a Lommis, fantastic casting rig! -Paul
  15. Fished many a season with a 2 piece medium St. Croix. Caught a lot of big fish. I adjust the eyelet alignment every now and again. 2 piece rods are very travel friendly. Enjoy!
  16. Ordered the Pat XT today, will be in at the end of the month. Going to put it on a Dobyns 7'MH 705 CB Glass. I plan to set hooks like Peter Thliveros, when he does it sounds like he's hoisting V8 engines with rope, block & tackle... 8-)
  17. Any of you guys know about this? http://www.wtop.com/?sid=1861518&nid=25
  18. Could be a Stonecat Madtom (Noturus flavus)
  19. ...headaches, birdnesting, and line memory. Your not missing much...
  20. Nice fish! You are true fisheman Steve, found a spot that isn't frozen is huge!
  21. Scientists use placebos to check and balance new drugs, try it with rods. In the fishing world I can tell you my reels dont allow me to catch fish, the rods let me know they are there! I had a high dollar reel on a middle of the road rod, I caught fish... I put that same reel on a high dollar rod, i caught all the fish...
  22. This is easier than it seems! You have a Macro brake and a Micro Brake! The Macro brake is the exterior knob, adjust this so that the bait falls smoothly from a foot from tip to ground. Cast a few times and see if your over running (bird nesting). if so tighten up a bit. Open the side of the reel or there may be an adjustment knob on the side with min-max or weights. adjust that and cast. Start from bird nest and work backwards. In the end leave the Micro brake set and adjust your Macro brake.... you'll cast a mile. I casted in the street for hours to figure mine out. I suggest you try that! 8-)
