Not being a tournament guy , I find when I'm boat fishing , three rods are all I need.

I use braid on my fiberglass rod and McCoys mean green co-polymer on my graphite rods.

A word to the wise , if you are going to buy high end rods and reels , it would be better to actually handle the rods and reels in person. That way you will be able to have a outfit that is best suited to your taste and balanced correctly . JMHO
