dumbest thing you've done while fishing
Had to swim after a couple of boats when unloading due to rotten rope. Once was just above a lock on the KY River. I also dropped 2 rods off the boat into Green River Lake in one day. Only time I ever did it and it was two separate occasions on the same day. Both were retrieved with a large treble thankfully. My cousin hooked a nice bass on a Roostertail and the hook came loose right as he was pulling the bass in to land it. It wrapped around his head then the hook went completely through the cartilage in his ear. He manned up and got it out with pliers. I was in tears laughing so didn't assist much with the removal.

night fishing
I used to think you had to do things differently at night but lots of reading here and personal experience has taught me differently. I've found you can fish pretty much the same way/places as you would during the day. As far as topwater fishing goes, the fish seem to relate a little farther off the bank but the differences are minimal.

YUM forked dinger
I don't use them personally but my fishing buddy absolutely slays the fish using them. He texas rigs w/weight so I can't advise about fishing them weightless.

Aquarium-ists?
That's awesome. I've never done the saltwater thing but I've had several tanks with native fish over the years. My faves were crawdads which were a blast to watch, and I loved my Warmouth but it got too expensive to feed the dang thing. I swear he could eat his own weight in fish every day if I'd let him.

Elites= Athletes?
I would have to agree with you. They have unreal skills and talent but I would not consider them athletes.

braid problems
I was fishing from the bank a year or two ago and lost a Spro frog when the Stealth braid I was using did that. I would definitely recommend different line.

Plfueger supreme xt??
I'm guessing since it is on clearance it is the "old" gold model. I picked one of them up on clearance myself and while I've only used it once so far it seems like a nice reel.

"Clear" braids and Fireline
I've been using the fused Fireline Crystal for the last couple of years. I dunno if it works better than colored stuff but it definitely works and I love it.

Pflueger President 6730
Man that stinks. I have that exact reel and use a right-handed retrieve and had no problem with the cap fitting on the left side. :-/

What does your name (Handle) mean?
<----- The caliber of my favorite rifle.

Little works of art...swimbait style.
My fishing partner just ordered one. Can't wait to see them in action.

lake fork plastics
Haven't used them much yet but the magic shad have great action and a good rep.

missed hook sets on hollow body frog
It could be a timing issue or it could be equipment. You want a rod with a solid backbone and premium line that doesn't stretch. When you get a hit don't immediately set the hook unless you want the frog to fly at your head. Some people will say wait 3 seconds which I don't really have the patience to do but a short pause after the strike and before you set the hook should do the trick.

Annoyed with soft bodied frog tails: Only buying cheapies
I've been addicted to frog fishing for about six years now and while I've had good luck with the Spro and other expensive frogs, I can generally catch 2 or 3 times as many fish on the lowly poppin scum frogs as any other frog I've tried. It isn't just smaller fish due to the diminutive size of the bait either. I just flat out get more hits and better hookup percentages. About the only drawback would be that they are light so long casts aren't as feasible. Plus, I can buy 3 of them and a bottle of Mountain Dew for the price of a single Spro. They are pretty soft but I've found them to hold up pretty darn well considering. I usually can catch dozens of fish (if not 50+) before they will start to tear where the hook enters the front of the bait. A little super glue will fix it but they are so cheap I usually don't even bother.

Oh boy, the magic time is here !
Went fishing last weekend at a small lake here in central Kentucky and caught 6 dinks and a 3 lber. Water temps were 46 degrees. This was the first time I'd ever fished in Feb. (sad to say) so I was pretty stoked.

Sweeettt I love ultralight!
I fished almost exclusively with UL stuff for years until I got into frog fishing 5 or 6 years ago. If the fish aren't banging on frogs my goto setup is still an UL rig with inline spinners. It doesn't get much better than a 6 or 7 lb. catfish on an ultralight rod.

Huge Panfish?
If I could catch 1+ pound panfish with regularity I don't think I'd bass fish nearly as much.

Braided Line
I started using the Fireline Braid in my bc last year and it worked very well.

bass with big teeth
Obviously a catfish. Mystery solved!

Does your wal-mart carry anything good?
They don't carry too much in my area. They stopped carrying scum frogs the last couple of years so I barely even glance at the fishing stuff anymore in protest. > They have started carrying some nicer (relatively speaking) reels such as Pfueger Presidents and the such which is nice to see. I was reading an article the other day which said Walmart had taken a big hit due to cutting back the variety of merchandise they stock. Supposedly they are attempting to rectify it but I dunno if it will apply to fishing equipment but one can only hope.

Soft plastic
Well I haven't really used many soft plastics the last few years :-[ but I used to have a lot of luck with Zoom lizards in the 4" and 6" variety. My go to color was chartreuse/pumpkin or just chartreuse. My fishing buddy catches a ton of fish using beavers (mostly brown) and split-tail worms (black w/chart. tail).
