Anyone Else Use Abu Garcia Veritas Rods?
I've had mine for 3 years with no issues. It is used heavily and I have caught multiple fish over 8lbs with it. There is some wear on the foam handles but nothing excessive.

My First Boat!
Congrats I got a similar duracraft last year mine is a good bit older though. I upgraded the fish finder and trolling motor on it and have been enjoying it since; in the process of putting hydroturf now. It's been great don't know why I waited so long to get one.

If you buy in store make sure the eyes line up. I bought mine a while ago but a few of them had eyes that where way out of whack.

I've had a 7' mh for almost 2 years. It is light and sensitive it feels more stout than my other mh rods. I haven't had any issues with the reel seat or breakage just some wear on the foam grips. I haven't dealt with the microguides on the veritas so I can't help you there, and I would consider getting another one. I have pretty much had flouro on it the whole time with no issues

Painting My Jon
I used rustoleum self etching primer and marine paint a year ago. It came out pretty good but if I were to do it again I would put some type of hardener in the paint.

It's already on there so set your drag accordingly and give it a shot. If you don't like it you will know pretty quick and can change it out for a lighter line.
