I am just wondering what kind of gear you guys use to throw weightless flukes. Also is there a method for weighting the fluke without destroying the action?
  2. Anybody have any experience with this? Please help!
  3. If you are interested in bringing an affordable buddy trail to your area with a chance at cool prizes, regional and national championship tournaments send me a PM. It's a very affordable and fun tournament trail to fish and very easy to promote. I am covering Lake Martin. Any other lake in Alabama is eligible so if you think you have a good area let me know and we can get it going right away!
  4. I have a 1990 model 100 HP evinrude on the back on my Stratos. It has ran fine, but recently it has decided that it doesn't want to idle. Is this telling me that it is time for it's annual service? Spark Plugs? Hoping someone has ran into this issue before! Thanks in advance!
  5. Just wondering who all is going! I had a blast last year! They had a free Zack Brown Band concert and everything! I got Gman, Jason Quinn, and Iaconelli's autograph I can't wait! See yall there
  6. Come on man! Your in the desert about to come home...you can't be thinking midsize! Grow up! Get you an F-150 and tow any boat you want! I can tow any bass boat....ANYWHERE ANYTIME! FORD TOUGH (and not government owned) Once again! Thanks man.... while your headin home I'll be headed over! I'm leaving around Dec for 2nd tour
  7. Very True! I know this because I do the same thing! I hold my pinky under the trigger, hold the reel with my rod, and keep my index finger right under the line in front of the leveler. I have had small fish almost jerk my rod out of my and like this, and I have about a 1/4' cut in my index fingers from fishing braid, but I can't change because I don't think you can get the sensitivity I can without being in contact with the line.
  8. Hey guys...I am trying to figure out some of the "little things" that can be so important in life. This time its about bass boats. I wanna talk about some things that everyone might not do or know about. Just the small stuff that keeps your boat running and looking better than the next guys. What are some little things you do that really makes your boat stand out or make it yours!
  9. I have always wondered how far bass travel....particularly if you catch them 5 miles from the weigh in and release them. Do they hang around that area? Or do they somehow know how to get back where they were? I do know that in alot of tournaments, the areas around tournament weigh in normally have a high concentration of fish.
  10. Will be my first year on the American Fishing Tour. I was just wanting to get some ideas from people about all the good things, bad things, what to expect...etc..... I am just hoping for a good group of guys to fish against and some good honest competition!
  11. I'm guessing it's the break from shallower water to deeper water that form channels? They are sitting out in the middle of no where catching fish from what I can see! lol
  12. I would like to hear some thoughts on fishing ledges. I just got wore out in a tournament by guys sitting on a couple of ledges all day and bringing in enormous sacks. It's something I've never tried and would really like to figure out.
  13. 1-10 ft depth fluctuation. WOW!! Sounds like I would stay at the downstream side. Really try and get a grip on the water levels and keep track of it. That will help more than anything. When it's up you can try your shallower spots but as it is moving down you better move with it. Find some deeper structure along the channels.
  14. Can somebody explain this to me? I found a slough before a tournament that was holding some really nice fish. During the tournament there was nothing there and I talked to a guy in the slough and asked if he was having any luck and he said no the water is turning over in here these fish are probably gone by now. I was wanting to learn more about that.
  15. Hey...The Pot Tournament is on Lake Harding (Bartletts Ferry) every Saturday morning. It has anywhere from 5 boats to 30 or so. I haven't seen it any bigger than that. It averages about 15. It's daylight till 1:00 EST. Normally takes 11-13 lbs to win it. If you fish by yourself its 25.00 a boat includes 5.00 bigfish and if you have a partner its 40.00 and includes big fish.
  16. Yea the clouds were def headed our way. We went ahead and got off the water shortly after that.
  17. Took a buddy of mine out today on Lake Eufaula and the fishing was kind of tough because the water was screaming, but he did manage to catch his PB. Check it out. It made me feel good to take him out and give him the chance at this fish. Sorry about resolution...Cell phone pic
  18. How yall feel about Shakey heads?
  19. Im in Auburn if that counts....I don't spend alot of time on west point but I do on Bartletts ferry (harding). I fish the Saturday morning Pot tourneys out there.
  20. For some reason I have never had any luck period on a brush hog. I have friends that love them though! I guess I'm fishing em wrong or something.
  21. I am putting together a panic box for those days when you just can't get em to hit anything. What are some of yalls suggestions?

  23. I want to hear what some people from Louisiana have to say about that comment!!!! There are alot of issues with this oil spill. We will probably never see the beaches, wetlands, and alot of the areas down there fully recover in our lifetime. That is sad that he could make a comment like that. The gulf of mexico is one of the most diverse wildlife habitats in the world. While it's being covered in oil that was the best thing he could come up with to say?
  24. Louisiana isn't the only place that has shrimp. said British Petroleum rep Randy Prescott. You can tell him And BP isn't the only place that has fuel for my car!
  25. Well tell us what you bought first. Bait casters are great! You will hate it until you get used to it. Then there is no going back! I would suggest starting off with the brakes pretty much locked down throwing larger lures such as spinner baits and easing the brakes and sizes off from there. You will get the hang of it
