  1. how can you hear the bass?
  2. plant the structure under and at the edges of the dock. or, place the cover where its easiest to cast.
  3. I'm going to my aunts house to do some fishing this weekend. but this winter they had a fish kill if there are still fish in there were will they be? and what are some good lures to use?
  4. for the drop off, throw spinnerbaits, jigs, spoons and some deep diving crankbaits. fish parallel to the drop so you don't move fish off the structure. for humps throw some jigs, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. fish the whole structure. make sure you didn't miss a angle. also move around a bit. these structures are great for hot weather and post spawn fish. if your fishing a jig let if fall of the ledge and went it hits the bottom retrieve all the way back to the boat. when fishing a spinnerbait throw it shallow and when it goes of the ledge fish it fast and erratic like its running from a dominant predator
  5. if you see bass guarding fry, throw a rage frog or a buzzbait. they kill topwaters trying to guard there fry. if there not hitting topwater try a swimbait or a jig. throw the bait near the fry and slow it down when its near the fry or the bass. then if that pattern does not work, then go back to the dam, or where there shallow then deep water, and throw some crankbaits, jigs, and some soft plastics. fish them until you catch fish and when you do, keep casting in that general area. if you don't catch anything don't give up. post spawn is the most difficult season to fish.
  6. i used to fish worm at my friends lake a couple of years ago and i probably caught fish by luck. since then, i stopped using the worm. does swimming a worm work better or slowly working it on the bottom. and how do you rig it. THANK YOU.
  7. if you are going to fish frogs with a spinning rod, use heavy line, use a medium heavy action rod or a heavy action rod. and if you do get a fish try to get the fish up on the surface and don't let it go down into the roots. so get the fish in quickly so you don't loose it.
  8. my biggest weakness in fishing is fishing deep cranking. i just dont like fishing water deeper than 15 feet because the bight is light and i dont know what king of cover is down there without a depth finder.
  9. ok, i did not catch that many, but i did some of the big ones. this lake has been stocked for years. but then we had a fish kill and a lot of bass died. so just to be sure, we stocked again and the bass have grown quikly to nice 2 to 3 pounds. that 8 pounder i caught last year suprised me because i thought most of the big bass were dead. i think we caught 60 total but i caught about 30 or 35 and my friend caught about 30 or so. we also had perfect conditions. this pond is not to big so the bass are easy to find and easy to catch them. so yeah, i went a little over board. i got a little excited about this site and i wanted some attention from some other anglers. im also new and i think a lot of other anglers will make a fish story. so in all this story was only half true and i now how to act on this site a lot better.
  10. if the water is really warm, use a curly tailed grub about 2-3 inches long.if the water gets really cold then dont use one. try your jigs near steap banks, ledges, and deep rocks. i like to use them when the water gets cold and fishing is slow. GOOD LUCK!!!!
  11. I don't own a boat so i have to fish from local docks and beaches. i catch fish but not as often as i do with a boat (i some times borrow my grandpa's). were would be some good places to fish and what are some good lures i can use there.
  12. if the sun is low, fish protected banks and fish the areas where the sun hasnt hit yet. this will be a great topwater and spinnerbait action. when the sun is high fish deep ledges and over hangs. for deep water use spinnerbaits, crankbaits and jigs in those areas. when fishing over hangs throw spinnerbaits, jigs and buzzbaits near the shaded area. if ou can fish parrallel to the shade or other heavy cover your fishing and fish slow. GOOD LUCK!!!!
  13. me and one of my friends have a pond all to are selves. we freshly stocked it 3 years ago and weve seen some huge fish. last weekend i started fishing at 8 in the morning and ended at 8:00pm. in that period i cuaght 65 bass. 10 of those bass weighed over 5 pounds. one weighed 7 1/2 pounds! 1 # under my personal record. my biggest was at that pond. it weighed 8 1/2 pounds!!! do you have any questions?
  14. when this event occurs spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and hard jerkbaits work the best for the active. bass are usually more active at this time.
  15. how do fish a pond and what is your favorite lure?
  16. use topwater baits, big plastics and jigs. if there is any large cover like a big tree or lily pads thats were they'll be. cast the lures to edges of docs, trees and other heavy cover.
  17. if any one has questions on bass fishing, pond fishing or other fishing questions i will try my best to answer them? P.S nothing to long. i dont have all day.
  18. all types of plastics. make sure the colors are natural or they match the forage, and other food sources in the lake.
  19. if you want to gain confidence in a lure then go to a pond or lake that is jammed packed with fish and when you catch fish you'll thing that you can catch fish in other places and the more fish you catch the more confidence you will get using that lure. if you don't catch fish at first, look up tips for that lure so you can catch a lot more fish than before. then if you still don't catch fish then stop trying to use the lure because your just wasting time you can be catch fish with lures you have confidence in. and i don't blame you, jigs are pretty hard to fish and keep your confidence in one. here's a way i got confidence in jigs. i found a lake with a lot of timber and rocks and i started to fish and with still no luck i tried a jig and got all excited and when i pitched the jig to the first log i saw i pulled up a giant 5 pound bass and thats how i got into jigs.
  20. where did you catch your biggest fish and what did you use? i have 2, one was a 8 pound bass and my second was a 54 inch musky!!!
  21. those 6 fish were all bass on a lake by my school. they were caught on spinnerbaits. my biggest one was a pound bass. I was having so much fun that i forgot to check my line and the next cast my lure flew right off. good thing it was a cheap one.
  22. if there is any wood cover, docks, walls, or large weed edges, cast spinnerbaits, jigs and topwaters parallel to the cover and fish slow and fast. if there is little cover then fish near the bottom with spinnerbaits, all types of jigs and other craw imitations to rocks, steep ledges and to flats. if there is scattered weeds, then pitch all sorts of lures to the isolated cover. if the canal is filled with grass, lily pads, or other heavy weeds then fan cast a spinnerbait, buzzbait, and small swimbaits that are somewhat weedless. if your looking for big peacock bass fish near bridge pillings with zara spooks, large swimbaits, and huge spinnerbais. another good spot is flooded brush, grass and large timber. fish these areas with topwaters and swimbaits. then best time for peacock is after a flood and when there is a slight on and off drizzle. when this happens the top water action is amazing. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
  23. the bass are hitting flies, dead bugs, and other insects. if you have a flie rod throw some foating poppers or some dry flies. If not then throw a small popper to the area's where the fish are mainly jumping and retrieve it a one pop every 5-8 seconds. if still no fish cast some live worms to the jumping fish and you will catch what ever is juming. and sometimes those fish are carp so have some heavy line on your pole just in case you get a giant carp. GOOD LUCK!!!!
  24. crawfish colors like brown and red. then for larger smallies use real bright colors like yellow or orange. GOOD LUCK!!!!
