So let me get this straight. You "FRESHLY" stocked a small private pond in Illinois 3 years ago, and the pond is already producing 8.5lb bass? :o

My thoughts exactly.

Pondmaster, do you happen to know a guy who goes by Bassboss?

Look, yesterday we poked a little fun at you.  You were advised by one of the mods to help along the way and the thread was closed.

It appears that you didn't heed the advice given, so I will try to help you out.  For those of you that know me, I know this is a stretch.   ;D

It's great that you are excited about bass fishing.  Telling "fishing stories" is part of the game, but they have to be marginally close to the truth.  Seriously, take a look at what you wrote and tell me that you are being remotely honest about your day?

If not, man up and say it wasnt entirely the truth.  If you still think it's the truth, well.... ::)  Your future interactions on here might not be as courteous.   ;D

Really, chill out and enjoy the place.  Dont stink it up with

Three year old 8lbers. They must be like my bass up my way. I saw a couple last weekend laying in bed watching Simpson's drinking beer and eating porkrinds... freaked me out too!

ok, i did not catch that many, but i did some of the big ones. this lake has been stocked for years. but then we had a fish kill and a lot of bass died. so just to be sure, we stocked again and the bass have grown quikly to nice 2 to 3 pounds. that 8 pounder i caught last year suprised me because i thought most of the big bass were dead. i think we caught 60 total but i caught about 30 or 35 and my friend caught about 30 or so. we also had perfect conditions. this pond is not to big so the bass are easy to find and easy to catch them. so yeah, i went a little over board. i got a little excited about this site and i wanted some attention from some other anglers. im also new and i think a lot of other anglers will make a fish story. so in all this story was only half true and i now how to act on this site a lot better.

Much better!

X2

Trust me. The guys on here know their stuff, especially the B.S. part.

Most are experts at it themselves. Like the saying "you can't kid a kidder", you can't B.S. a B.S.er. (Is that a word?) I know 8lb+ bass are caught in northern Ill, I even had one on I would have guessed was that big, but it's not exactly common. Bring a camera and snap a quick pic or 2. Worth a thousand words. Word of advise. Start your sentences with capital letters and use the spellcheck feature.

While were on the truth serum did you actually weigh the fish on a scale or are you guesstimating?

Bring a camera and snap a quick pic or 2. Worth a thousand words.

I bought a cheap drugstore digital camera ($9.99) for just this purpose and keep it on the boat in the glove box. Last week I was on the boat by myself and caught a monster bass (must of been 20 pounds ::) ). I held it up best I could, even with my super-human strength, extended the camera out with my other arm and snapped the picture. I rushed home and downloaded the pics to my laptop only to find a picture of myself with my arm out to the side, cut off at the elbow right where the fish should have shown up. When I get home from work, I'll upload the picture, and you can use your imagination where the fish should have been.

EDIT - Sorry for the bad cut/paste on the quote :-[

Also -photo of mentioned monster fish
