  2. any you guys know where to buy antique rods/reels and fly rods/reels? wanna decorate my new office in antique rods/reels looking for a good site for it?
  3. seems like a steal,id buy it.
  4. ah muddy the oh so great expert sarcastic one ..it oozes hahaha ;D ,,,yea and he also charges 50-60 for one when they cost a fraction of that to make...time yea but cheaply made anyone can do what hes doing go on tackleunderground and look at other ppls baits alot are just as good if not better.speaking of wheres your handmade/tooled tackle muddy???since you got the mouth to flap and jaw to jack???
  5. here infact ill tell you the process i made them "wiseone" i either used wood but prefer pvc decking i cut the blockes into squares then i cut them into 2 halves then i double stick tape them together shape then on a belt sander then i cut the angle for the swim action with a miter saw then i pull the double tape apart and mount my hardware between the two pieces then i gorilla glue them then i epoxy them let it dry on the lathe epoxy again sand then airbrush and clearcoat multi. times....theres my "commercial" swimbait made in my comercial garage
  6. yea then who are they commercialy made by??? what commercial mass produced swimbaits use those huge eyelet and eyelethook hardware i used mine are big enough to be gaudy, most are tiny hardware i.e tru tung.,go onto tackleunderground.com where i learned how to do these by watching tort. videos and posts and talking to them and go look at all their homemade stuff lookes simmilar huh why not tell them their stuff is all commmercialy made to o'wise one.you doubt ppls skills because they take a hobby and make things that look identical or better to whatever comercial brand your thinking of,either way i dont care got nuttion to prove to you seeing that you seem to know it all.and im not aware of to many swimbait makes maken 8" wakebaits like the ones i did.ask me to take any pics of them you want any angle any close up and you can then go compaire them to your "commercial" brand ..d.bag
  7. good question cause after awhile them things start gettin expensive be nice to make yer own and save some cashflow.
  8. ya know never even thought of that..thanks...plus its cheaper!!!!
  9. thanks for all your info and input i think next trip to bps ima grab some and give it a hoot
  10. yea but i switch it up if it was a topwater or a jig or crank whatever then ill throw a tx rigged plastic back at it usualy will slurp it up,ill either throw it a lil past where he threw the hook ir ill try to hit the darn thing in the head with the lure. ;D
  11. new to this site and already loving it and the info you fine guys give out and respond to...thanks,as for me ive been fishing since i was a lil tike with my dad and gramps, now i do it all with my little guy.im turning the big 30 this year,i live in the south subs of chicago (orland park).i used to own my own heating and air business but sold that due to my other occupation and job demanding more time and maken me more money. i now dj all the major clubs in chicago and its gotten me to travel to other states and countries to dj also and i also produce dance music under mine and a friends record label ive been blessed with my passion turning into something that supports me and lets me and my fam. live life good.i spend to much of my money on fishing gear its my antidrug haha.if i cant get out on the boat im just as happy fishing from my dock or shoreline.but thats me in a nutshell.so HI!!!!!!!!! and as for fishing ive been all over from canada for musky to mexico to south america for peacocks but i like kentucky, alabama,nc,florida, cali, fly fishing in utah but texas is my tops love it there
  12. one quick warning no biggie though sometimes to open the side cover of bps reels you have to press in the little basspro logo and turn the cover counterclock wise sometimes this button can be hard to push in,if so give it a lil squirt of wd-40 ive also heard giving it a lil soak in mild warm water will help to,but just a heads up.
  13. i got the shimano sahara, symetre, saros, stradic and sustain in sizes 2500-3000 all great love them all spool sizes vary for diff. companies to save weight on theryre reels any shimano reel is great i also have team daiwa tierra and sol that are great,i also love my pflueger supreme xt all depends on what yer lookn for and what yer fishing for the saros is pretty close to a pflueger in size id say but alot smoother so is the new stradic.but good luck on your choice theres alot out there.
  14. you want a baitcaster for $115 or a combo?id go to basspro or cabels and see what housebrand combos they got going on sale esp. since fathersday is coming up you should be able to get some great deals http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_103927_100003001_100000000_100003000_100-3-1 check this combo out thats the first baitcaster i learned out very forgoiving and very reliable still have it and still going strong and rod is great to. or this one at cabelas http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/horizontal-pod.jsp?id=0065217&navCount=1&parentId=cat20285&masterpathid=&navAction=push&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat20285&parentType=index&indexId=cat20285&rid= not to sure of that reel but its a pretty sweet lookn combo.but pflueger reels are great the new stuff they got out is topnotch
  15. dink how do you like that bps line i read reviews of it and seems everyone raves of it was thinking of giving it a try for the price, have you ever tried yozuri hybrid? if so how does it compair to that?
  16. depending on what type of fishn im doing ill grab that rod/reel set up for it and that tackle bag set up for the same and im off....woohoooo
  17. x4 on searchbaits and LOUD rat traps..we sometimes fish a cooling lake one side of its a constant 74 other 95 on up when its 50 outside so i feel your pain haha.
  18. $150 f0r both ok...this works good for you, youll get some good stuff for a first timer,up to you but id stay far away from quantum.for a rod id def. go with a e2 carrot stick ($150) or of you wanna save a lil and put more towards a reel id say the st.croix mojo ($100) as for a reel id go with a shimano curado if you get that st.croix rod youd be saving $50 so youd be able to get it cause that reel is $170 or the shimano citica 200e its the same frame as the curado minus a few bearings but still smooth thats only $120,or the same rod st.croix and get the abu garcia revosx ($179) that reel has the ultimate drag you can pull in a tree with that reel.but good luck to you and enjoy whatever you get.another reel to check is the team daiwa tierra i myself am going to grab one of these next week ($130)
  19. first what route you going to go..baitcaster or spinning gear?and give us a figure we can start with sayt 100-200 bucks??? if anything walk into your local basspro shop and check out the housebrand combos they got and just ask the reel counter guys theyll be happy to help you out and get you going with what you need in your price range.but yea let us know what your willing to spend then we can get the ball moving for you.
  20. has anyone tried this stuff out?i hear its better then seaguar leaders
  21. i got the 7mh fast and 7xh...both paired with revo sx'x for the power of the drags,i use one for just like you pitching into slop holes and the other i use for deep crankn or whatever i feel like putin on it that day,but for the money that stick cant be beat go read reviews everyone raves about them theyre taking the lead over 300-400 rods i have more expensive rods but i love this rod sure its a little ugly haha with that bright orange but it handles like a cadillac.plus a lifetime warranty.just weird how a rod can be made out of actual carrots (or should i say carrot nano fibers) dunno but its awesome...lemme know what you think of it when you get it and hold onto it
  22. im moving next month and im just curious rather then take chances and just move the rods in the open in the truck i was wondering whats a good rod holder and do they make one big enough for 45-50 rods? either that or i was just thinking of gettin plumbing pvc and maken my own.but i think home depot only sells that stuff up to 5-6" and im sure that wont hold that many rods.
  23. alls i know of the upgraded megaforce is more bearings as for everything i else i.e drag and all i believe its the same,i know ppl who have the viento from daiwa and they say after awhile the twitchin bar becomes more pain then a bennifit.but cant go wrong on that rod i love my Cstick.email TW and see what they say see if they can give you more specs on the upgraded mforce
  24. awesome rod but i duuno id think about putting a better heavier duty reel on that rod spec. if your going to dump your hooks in slop and heavy veg.cause you get a bite in that remember your going to be pulling up 20lbs of that junk along with the fish, something with a heavy duty drag,id go curado or revo sx or higher end daiwa
