  1. ok ? on the tierra how good is the cast control/brakes and how well is the drag? i know the vbs on shimano is great and i believe i read the drag on the citica is rated at 9 lbs of tq.any idea what the tierra is?..as far as the other reels listed i already have a few pflueger summits (love them) and a few abu round reels and abu revo sx's,im just looking for a quality pick up and go setup so either the tierra or shimano citica and its going on a st.croix 7mh mojo.thanks
  2. only 3 things needed....a yop water frong, and i mod mine and hand make wire leaders with a buzz blade and then tie that infront of the frog for more commotion (stanley now makes the same version of what ive been using its called the buzzfrog or stanley buzzit something like that) a BIG topwater worm like 12" snake size a D.N.R guy once told me when bass see snakes they dont whack it to eat it they whack it to kill it cause they feel threatened by it.and a zara spookalong the weedline and tweak the sppok what i do is drill a hole intop the size of a toothpick fill the lure with mineral oil and then shove gold, silver and red glitter in the hole put a toothpick with superglue in the hole to seal it then clear nailpolish to fill any tiny holes then shake it up sebill makes a lure like this thats 15-18 bucks the glitter makes other fish think its scales falling off an injured.dying fish.but frogs in my opinion or the most fun to fish with or pitch a jig n craw in the holes either way have fun.
  3. you try to oil and lube it?whatever you do DONT attempt to take that reel apart and explore i tried that and its complicated in that thing and im quite mechanicaly inclined.but it sounds like it could be a lil dirty i mean that many fish and hours and if you didt clena and lube it then thats probably what it is,clean it and squirt some quantum hotsaue in that thing and see how it works then if its still got a grinding noise time ti take apart if your brave enough or send it in.i have the revo sx and never had a single problem, but good luck.
  4. ok since ppl where comp.about my other long run on thread. ill get to it make it short n sweet for them ....what baitcaster to choose...daiwa tierra, shimano citica 200e and i know was told to stay away from housebrand reels but the new bps rick clunn????
  5. id wait a week/month whatever till you save and have atleast 100-150 bucks then you can get something you dont have to worry about falling apart in your hands.i know sometimes its hard to wait but in the long run trust me youll be happy you did and itll be worth it.
  6. i got one a 7' mh casting and i cant really tell the difference between it or my tourny legends.good rod for 90 bucks, that my tourny and carrot stick are among my favs,if your still shopping around i just snagged some of the new okuma c3 carbon rods there $150 look amazing and have a split grip but instead of cork or eva they got some carbon fiber that when wet it feels like tacky silk in your hands feels neat and betters your grip and they got a lifetime warranty.but anywho good luck on your choice.
  7. i got an abu 5600 ext pro on a new okuma carbon c3 rod that i like to use for throwing anything into the nastiest slop i can find and pulling the fishies and 20 pounds of the lake grass/trees in with them
