  1. Thanks for the response. Yea that is how i fished the brush hog and probably how i will fish these as well, but do you modify the body at all? I know a lot of people including myself cut the flappers at the end down the middle, but do you detach the arms or anything else?
  2. Just picked of these up from Dicks for a good price on black/blue and green pumpkin. Now that i have them what do you guys like to do to make them have the most action? Thanks, VC
  3. When it comes to worms i love just natural greens and black when it comes to lizzards i love the brown with chartreuse tail. that tail just adds another enticing factor that bass cant resist
  4. Thanks! And yea that fish is my pride and joy. I had the pleasure of fighting her for about 20 min, because i was all by myself and missed netting her three times
  5. Thats some good advice. I have already spend close to $600 this winter alone and i cant even fish yet
  6. I dont see any of the eekins jigs
  7. My favorite worm along with ribbontails
  8. For finesse presentations, I highly recommend some Roboworm straight tails. For a more aggressive presentation, a Berkley Powerworm is tough to beat. Paca Chunks are fantastic jig trailers, and they are VERY cost effective. Thats pretty much all i use!
  9. I went on their website and wow is it overwhelming. A lot of these products i have never seen before because i shop primarily only at Cabelas. Im looking to stock up on some plastics. What are the top products that some of you have purchased from this site that i should try out? Also i want to expand my jig collection. Right now i primarily use booyah and strike king finesse jigs. What do they offer that i should try out. I know this is broad but any ideas will be great Thanks, VC
  10. Goose did you get that color in the store? Im looking online and they dont have anything close to the one you have pictured. I would get one in a heartbeat but none of the ones on their site are like the baitfish we have here in MN
  11. I would try and find a Shimano Symetre for around $75. Spend a little more to get IMO a reel that competes with the $400 reels. Best i have ever used hands down
  12. Any experience with these swimbaits? They are on sale at Cabelas so i thought i would maybe give it a shot. Thanks, http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0074862124802a&navCount=1&podId=0074862&parentId=cat603338&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat603338&catalogCode=9IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat603338&hasJS=true
  13. Fenwick HMG One of the best under $150 and you save some money cuz i believe its around $110
  14. No question you should get a Shimano Curado. Best reel ever made. You can get one online around $150 The rod is a more difficult decision. You can get a lot of great rods for around $100. I just got a 6'6" Cabelas prodigy and i couldn't ask for a better feeling rod. Just take whatever reel you get and go into your local store and see what you think feels good. BTW i would go with the 6'6" IMO you can do the most with it
  15. I bet someone has already touched on it, but when i was looking into getting one i didnt like them one bit. They reminded me of my old ugly stick too whippy. They also were alot heavier than other rods in that price range such as the Quantum Alliance and the Vendetta.
  16. Today i got: Rapala DT - Bluegill Bomber free shad (chartreuse/blue 6'-8') Cotten Cordell Big 0- shad Spro surface bait in a cool lime color I think im good for now at least. I also LOADED up on Cotten Cordell lipless baits (silver shad, red craw, bass, lime chartreuse)
  17. Just went to GM and they had CC Super spots on sale for $2 each. I STOCKED UP!!
  18. Anyone use this product? How does it stack upto JJ's?
  19. 6'6" MH Prodigy with a curado Best setup of my life and the most versatile
  20. Do you find it necessary to purchase all the depths?
  21. Living in MN it is tough to fish crainkbaits because of the weeds, but i want to give it another shot this year. I decided to get a range of crankbaits that will give me the best opportunity to catch fish without buying crainks that wont produce. So here is where you guys can help. Right now i have a Rapala DT (0-10' depth) in bluegill. Where should i go from here? Should i get a natural and a brighter color in each depth? If so what colors would you recommend here in MN Thanks, VC
  22. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0078408125281a&navCount=1&podId=0078408&parentId=cat20372&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat20372_TGP&catalogCode=9IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20372&hasJS=true I just got the Quantum Alliance and let me tell you for that price its a STEAL! Your getting a rod that compares and IMO feels better that the Skeet Reese and the Vendetta (around the same price range)
  23. Yum Ribbontails It seems like they arent talked about much and IMO they are the best soft plastic worm ever made. There have been days were i cant even catch weeds, and i tie a ribbontail on and start catching them left and right
  24. In water that cold, I'd feel more confident with a straight-worm like a Strike King 3x Finesse worm, Gambler Ace or Zoom Trick Worm. Color? Any dark color such as black, brown (pumpkin) or greenish brown (green pumpkin). Roger Yum Ribbontail or Trick Worm (Black or brown colors)
