  1. 7 weeks!!!!! That will be about the whole summer when I get the money to buy the reel!
  2. Fishing equipment is something you do not want to be stingy about....With that being said go to Cabelas and purchase a setup that is a package deal. You will not be getting the best setup in the world but it wil stay in your price range and will get the job done for the most part. This setup is on sale on the cabelas website and its a descent setup but good for the price. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0066762124204a&navCount=1&podId=0066762&parentId=cat20285&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat20285_TGP&catalogCode=9IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20285&hasJS=true
  3. Fenwick HMG or G Loomis Mossyback
  4. Hopefully I didnt run through all my luck too early into the season haha
  5. Yup. I think it's going on until 09/01/10 or until supplies last. Nice glasses. What reels are involved in the promotion? The Revo S?
  6. Does anyone know if this is still going on and what the details are about the promotion? I need some polarized lenses so I thought I get a reel as well! Thanks, VC
  7. Have you guys used this product? How accurate is the scale? Thanks, VC
  8. I had a fish 4 years ago that was estimated online at being 6.8 lbs but I never had the official reading so I dont count it, but last week I got a 6 lber (shown below). That fish has nothing on this hog though! Thanks for all the congrats!
  9. Nope 05/15/10 - 02/27/11 Largemouth Bass-2010 season-North and East of U.S. Hwy 53 from Duluth to International Falls and Pelican and Ash lakes in St. Louis County
  10. Here in MN these fish are few and far between so I savored ever moment of bringing this hog in. I had one scary moment when it tangled around my anchor and thought for sure she was a goner, but luckily she untangled herself and got her netted. She turned out to be 23" long 13" girth and 6.67 lb. BTW caught it on a trick worm wacky rigged and yes that is a Penny Hardaway jersey.
  11. Just purchased the MH. My gut feeling is that the little extra power will help bc I usually fish around cover and other structure. hopefully I made a good purchase!
  12. About to purchase the G Loomis but I really need some advice on whether to get a M or MH. Again I will be using it just for soft plastics (senkos, trick worms, etc.) Thanks
  13. x2 I used a cheap cabelas frog for awhile and had the same problems. I then switched to the spro frog and havent had issues with missing fish
  14. Thanks for the response. Yea I will be fishing mainly heavy cover areas so I will go a little heavier in power/longer length
  15. What should I be looking for? Power? Length? etc... Thanks, VC
  16. I was just wondering if there is a less expensive comparable alternative to Wiley X sunglasses.. Thanks, VC
  17. T-Rig so the hook is the very middle instead of at the top. This will give the worm great fluttering action on both sides.
  18. There is nothing like a great day of froggin!
  19. It sure is!! The world cup is coming up im getting into soccer mode
  20. Not only was this fish my first Spro frog fish this year it is one of my personal best. The lake is almost completely covered with scum so I was just slowly dragging that frog when it got inhaled!! I set the hook and I knew it was a biggin but I didnt know it was going to be a 6 lber!!
  21. That must be it thanks If I did end up going with that rod should I go with the MHXF or MXF? Again it will be my soft plastics spinning rod.
  22. Just realized the mossyback model number is not the same as the new model. BCR802 compared to BSR802
  23. This is my last question for my new fishing rod search. I have an opportunity to purchase a new G Loomis jig & worm BCR802 mossyback 6'8" MXF fishing rod for the same price as the St. Croix Avid rod. Should I go with the G Loomis for a soft plastics spinning rod. Any suggestions will help. Thanks, VC
  24. Thanks for the feedback. I am planning on going to the store to feel the differences between the rods and hopefully that will give me a better idea of what I am looking for
  25. Fenwick HMG is a good one. It might be $110 if you want to spend a little more.
